We had a great stay. Rent the Tree house room for three nights & a UTV for two days. The people in lodge & Us V rental couldn’t have been nicer. On the advice of the rental person we went up to Custer Peak, awesome ride. We will definitely go back with the family.
My girlfriend and I rented a ranger for a full day and had an absolute blast! Was especially thankful that gas is covered in the rental price and you don't need to return it full. Other places we were looking we were having to factor that into the cost. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and weren't looking for reasons to fine me after the trip (just was careful about the sidewalls and getting mud jammed). I would definitely recommend the full day over half, don't feel like I would have been fully satisfied and the price is barely different.
This place was great to do business with. The UTV was great! So was the advice on what areas to go see. And we didn’t have to worry about filling up with gas when we returned . We had a great time and will definitely return here!
Our recent road trip in our motor home took us to a campsite at this beautiful place tucked away in the Black Hills. On our first full day, we rented a UTV at the campground and went off road into the forest and up to spectacular views from the old fire watch cabin. On the second day we took the amazing Needles Highway through Custer National Forest, then checked out Deadwood and Sturgis. Mystic Hills was the perfect home base for exploring this area of magnificent natural beauty. Campsites are spacious, the campground is clean, and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We loved Mystic Hills Hideaway and are very happy we chose to stay there. We'll be back!
Great quiet place to get away. Owners were very accomaditaing. Also book a UTV from them. Machine was in great shape for a rental unit. We booked for 2 days rental but after 1 day the wife had enough. The owner was great about refunding me the next days rate even though I asked to cancel at 5:00 in the afternoon.
Our family of 4 rented an ATV from Mystic Hills Hideaway. We did the full day trip. It was amazing! We had so much fun. We had never been on the trails before and the owner was great and super helpful! We would highly recommend them!
My wife and I rented an atv for an afternoon during our Black Hills vacation. Mystic Hills Hideaway staff had excellent customer service and the equipment is top-notch! The staff is knowledgeable and will offer tips on the length of your rental. Mystic Hills is not a far drive from Deadwood.
My wife and I booked a 3 day stay for utv riding on the trails there. We booked there online mainly based on reviews. Big mistake! We arrived late in the day, hot and tired, and checked in at the office. We were looking forward to rest and relax on our mini vacation. When we walked into cabin number 5, it was very dark inside. One working bare incandescent type light bulb over the table. There was a table light on night stand, but no outlet to plug it in to. A single incandescent bulb in a floor lamp on the other side of the bed was not working. Very hot inside the cabin also. The air conditioning was not running. The remote for the mini split AC unit had cryptic directions on it, but couldn’t get it to turn on. I had to drive back to the office, since no cell or wifi service, and a ‘Mike’ , who smelled very 420 friendly, was dispatched to get the AC and lights working. The AC was going then, but took over an hour to notice any cooling from the small mini split A.C. unit. Cabin had two queen beds, but no wall, divider or curtain for any kind of privacy. one bed had a very soft mattress, and the other bed had a rock hard mattress that was right in front of the bathroom door and partially blocked it.. Cabin seemed clean except the dust bunnies under the beds, which I discovered when looking for the nonexistent electrical outlets. We came back from the utv ride late in the day ready to grill some burgers, only to discover my charcoal lighter fluid, that I had left next to the outdoor grill was gone. I found out later that ‘420 Mike’, who didn’t have time to check the lights and AC in the cabin, had found time inspect the grill area, and to dispose of my lighter fluid in the dumpster without notice. The AC wasn’t working again either so had to go to the office again to get directions from ‘420 Mike’. The manager also ‘gave’ me a partial container of charcoal lighter, as I express my displeasure about mine being taken. Later the manager did convince 420 Mike to retrieve my lighter fluid from the dumpster, which he did reluctantly. Cattle nearby, and they roamed around the actual campground and cabin area that night. they were walking around the cabin and car. The night noise made it hard to sleep. At least we didn’t have gear outside, but seemed like a safety issue to me. As usual on these reviews, , I suspect that the manger will just blame it on the staff, if they reply, but they had to be aware of the issues and allowed it. you can smell 420 (pot), a mile away!! The one positive note, the utv we rented was a new one and no issues. The rental staff was helpful and friendly. He got the trail maps on my phone. Thanks. I did request and get a veterans discount from the office, as there is no way to do that online. This was the most unpleasant vacation ever for me, Will never ever stay there again.…
We have stayed at Mystic Hills multiple times now and enjoy it every time. The staff is friendly, the location is great for having our UTV and easy access to trails, and we like the large sites with pine coverage. Its a great location, and we enjoy the quiet family time.
