We just stayed at First Gold in Deadwood during Mardi Gras weekend. I booked this hotel based on positive reviews and most importantly FREE CANCELLATION!! We drove 3.5 hours to get there with unpredictable weather, so we really needed the option to cancel. The front desk staff, 2 friendly ladies, were very welcoming and informative. We were in our room... More

At the time of this writing, there are 4 weekend buffets in Deadwood- all the same features ( Prime & Crab) and all are about the same. This is the best of the 4, in my opinion. They stay on top of fresh hot food in the hot buffet, the salad bar & the desert bar are good and the... More

If you are interested in the gambling, some portions of this facility are 100 yards or so away from the casino and restaurant. The rooms were "motel" type rooms and just ok. Rooms seemed to be clean, although well used.

First Gold is a perfectly fine hotel for the money. It was reasonably cheap, very clean, had a casino in it, and the staff was all awesome. The best parts were the friendly and helpful staff, and the value. The worst part wasn't a huge deal, but there are separate buildings, so you might be lodged a little ways away... More

The hotel room was clean and quiet. No noises from the neighbor room or from the hallway. Hairdryer, Iron and Iron board, TV, Alarm clock free WIFI, fridge and Coffee/tea maker in the room. There was only a shower in the room what was absolutely o.k. with me.Air-conditioning and a very nice bed. Not to soft or to hard. The... More

Stayed here last friday night. King room in the secondary building , room was on the small side but very clean. Close walk to main building where the casino is located. Drinks are free if you're gambling. Ate late around 1am at the deli , food was quick and tasted good. Biggest thing was the room was very clean and... More

A pleasant hotel room with comfortable beds. Like many other hotels the reading light is in the middle, between two king beds. If you sleep on the other side you are out of luck. The breakfast room was in a separate building (problem in bad weather) but the food was luxurious.

They provide very clean rooms that are reasonably priced and very quiet. The beds were comfortable and linens clean. There was no breakfast included with the room however the hotel offered reasonably priced breakfasts. The parking was convenient and staff courteous. A good value for the money.

Nice Hotel staff all that we encountered were very nice & helpful. Yes the hotel is 3 buildings total, two of which are up an incline from the main building. But if you are able to walk without any issues then this is nothing to walk back & forth. Otherwise they have a golf cart shuttle to take you from... More

Stayed here on an Archers canyons and parks tour. It is on the main road around 10-15 minutes easy walk from Deadwood. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with fridge, microwave coffee maker etc. There is a complementary breakfast though this is in a separate building there is a handy golf cart shuttle to take you there, good buffet breakfast with...
