I stayed here the first time on my 21st birthday, and now my husband and I always try to stay here whenever we visit Deadwood. It's historical. As such, we are well aware that it's imperfect. Cleanliness hasn't ever been an issue when we've stayed, nor should it be - old isn't synonymous with dirty. This certainly isn't the place... More

We were traveling with multiple family members and stayed at the Franklin because we wanted to stay on Main street and there were no other places available were with enough rooms for all of us. I was very sad to see such a majestic historical building is in such a run down and sad shap. All of our rooms were... More

This has to be the most disgusting hotel we have ever stayed in!My first clue should have been, when they directed us to the fire escape door as the best way to get to our room. We were directed to park in this "shady" back parking lot. When we entered the hotel we were mets with an odor, that smelled like a... More

Suppose to stay 2 nights but my wife couldn't take the "musty smell" in room....would recommend you stay anywhere else than at this hotel....travel all over the country, and have for years, and being from Rapid City would never have expected to encounter a more unprofessional Management Staff.....

The hotel is historical, so it will have a little older odor. It is by far not modern as the light switches are still push buttons. I think that adds to the experience. There is great architecture in the hotel and has a wonderful location for downtown deadwood. the price was fantastic and would recommend this hotel. Please realize that... More

We went to Deadwood for the Wine Corks and Forks event. It was a nice hotel, definitely on the older side, but great atmosphere! The food was good & casino was nice. My only complaint was that it was very warm and there was no air conditioning! They were very accommodating and got us the rooms we needed. Check in... More

This place has a lot of cool history to it but is in need of a lot of basic upkeep. I think we had a 13" tube TV, popcorn ceiling, cracks throughout the walls, door was not fully painted. Casino is nice but you can't even get a decent draft beer while gambling without paying full price, even with the... More

This hotel, no doubt, had a glamorous past. The outside has been cleaned while the inside is sparkling. It is beautifully restored and you can imagine high-society's men and women walking down the wooden stairs. Today is does have gaming, but it was peaceful while we were there. It is worth a walk-through.

My Wife and I got on the Trolley at the Deadwood Lodge at 8:15 am and got off at the Silverado Franklin Casino stop for the Breakfast Buffet. We heard it was good and yes it was. It cost $12.00 apiece and all you can eat. we both got eggs to order with Bacon, chicken fried steak, fried potatoes and sweet rolls.... More

The outdoor bar is accessed from the Emerald Room which is a treat if you like historic architecture. The view is the best of downtown Deadwood, and the experience is both fun and relaxing. A great way to wind down.
