The only place in Deadwood to rock out and rest up -- Deadwood Mountain Grand, A Holiday Inn Resort -- is one of the area’s newest and most unique hotel properties, a resort experience that is sure to leave you longing for a return trip long after you return home. At the Deadwood Mountain Grand Hotel, Casino and Event Center, perched on a hill overlooking historic Deadwood and featuring GRAND views, the 98-room luxury hotel is a wonderful addition to the recently refurbished adjoining Homestake Mine Slime Plant, one of Deadwood’s most unique historic landmarks, now home to Deadwood’s only large-scale event center and casino. Combined, the three (hotel, event center and casino) provide a resort mix unparalleled by any other. Our three executive king rooms, along with our five king suites deliver the most breath taking views in town. Seven of these eight well-appointed rooms feature spectacular views from their private balconies, including that of Mount Moriah Cemetery (the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and other legends of the Wild West) and Historic Deadwood. Relax and enjoy lounging by the grand stone fireplace over two stories tall under vaulted ceilings or cozy up by the side seating fireplace both making our rustic interior.

Wow! Is all that needs to be said what a great place to stay. First off the gentleman at the front door greeting us was so kind even got us a luggage cart. Second the hotel staff was so welcoming they even gave our puppy a doggie package which he loved! Third and final Cindy and the staff at the restaurant we’re so kind honestly probably the best experience I’ve ever had in a hotel! Such a clean and fun environment made me feel at home! They take pride in where there work.

Checked in on the 6th for a 1 night stay and got a room on third floor Mt Moriah room and view. Nice clean comfortable with ok wait staff. When you check in you have to go thru casino to elevator go up to 3 floor to hotel lobby to check in then back to your vehicle to park and install your parking permit and get luggage to take back to room. No coffee at hotel in the morning so back down to casino to bar for coffee, town don’t start waking up till after 7 so if you want a nice walk around in the morning there is no folks on the street. Our room had a balcony and we enjoyed the peace and quite and views in the evening and in the AM, bed and pillows were comfortable and shower had plenty of pressure and hot water. Gambling and restaurant below hotel but didn’t eat there due to wanting to eat at Legends steakhouse. All in all a nice stay and would stay again

My wife and I spent only one night of two nights planned on our way further out West; we thought Deadwood would be a fine stopping off point for a couple of evenings. This is a wonderful roadside hotel; it’s not Four Seasons, it’s a Holiday Inn. Management does a good job. We were treated well, our room was clean and ready and the staff were all masked. The reason we left early was that few people in Deadwood wear masks to prevent the Coronavirus. We could not find a place to eat dinner without significant fear of infection, so we left. Management was very accommodating in our request to leave early - no issues whatsoever. They said they try to lead by example but few were cooperating as their guests. Oh, we ended up eating room service which was quite tasty and reasonably priced. We will go back and stay there when normality returns to our world. In the meantime Deadwood is a significant Super Spreader risk zone. If you are one who fears Coronavirus infection be warned.

This was a very nice hotel and casino. Very clean, but housekeeping didn't seem to do everything each day and I don't know if that is because of COVID right now. You have to make reservations for the pool. The pool and hot tub were great! It is in a great location to downtown deadwood and very walkable. There is a parking garage and you go into the Casino door to get to the hotel.

Overall we had a positive experience at this location and would stay there again. Finding the entrance to the hotel wasn't the easiest, but one of the staff noticed my confusion and helped out. Then I noticed the signs! You have to go through part of the casino to get there. The check in process was simple, and the staff was friendly. The bed was very comfortable and soft. You can gamble, get room service, eat at the restaurant, get good coffee, shop in the gift shop, swim in the pool all at your hotel. So if you don't want to go out, you have everything you need right there. My only negative comment would be the housekeeping staff could do a better job. There was blue goo still on the shower wall from a previous stay, and many places seemed as if they hadn't been dusted in quite a while. On Sunday morning, they had their music up loud and it could be heard clearly in our room. We stayed 4 nights - housekeeping on Day 2 made the beds and refreshed the towels - that was it. Housekeeping on Day 3 made the beds, refreshed the towels and cleaned up the bathroom and restocked the toiletries.
