Hotel's Favorite
Great, attentive service and friendly, professional staff. The people that have helped me... Daysha and Keturah were, as always... nice to me, with the extra internet help, professional, proficient assistance too. I have many stays in this venue and I can and will count on them always. I have a long drive to get there, but when I Make reservations, I Know it will be handled with kindness and excellence.

We like Comfort Inns and this one did not disappoint. The motel is up to date and very clean. Things are different these days with COVID and you don’t get daily housekeeping but our room was super clean and stocked with enough towels, coffee, toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc) for the duration of our stay. The front desk staff was friendly and very accommodating. They had a grab and go breakfast and coffee. There is a shuttle service for a nominal fee which will take you downtown and runs every hour until 12:30 AM. The biggest perk is the parking. Most of the hotels in downtown Deadwood have no or very little on-site parking. This motel has plenty of parking. Everything felt safe and secure. If we visit Deadwood again this will be our place to stay.

Stayed for two nights in early October. Parking was ample and well lit. Trolly ran regularly, but really not a long walk to the downtown area. There is a sidewalk, but you do have to cross the street to get to it. Saw the maids cleaning the empty rooms surrounding ours and was encouraged to see that they kept the doors open to circulate air, and had the beds completely stripped. They looked like they were thoroughly cleaning. Loved that the windows opened and had screens. The room was big. The stairs are wide and open if you don't want to take the elevator. Front desk workers were all masked. Few people in town had masks on. Even the servers were not wearing them. Thankfully there is a strong wind if you are eating outside. Nice gift shop in the hotel. Used the pizza place (pizza lab) suggested in the hotel info book and while the pizza was good - they are located in the next town over. It took forever to get our order. Used Marcos the next night and it was faster. They have a small casino on site, but it looked pretty empty. It's in a good location and seems to be run well. We'd definitely stay here again.

Stay one night, Check in was smooth with no issues. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. They offer coupons for drinks, miniature golf. Used the drink coupon at the bar area. The bar area was clean and the food was good. Drinks hit the spot. They have about six or seven slot machine games in the area. They actually paid well. There is a shuttle that stops by every 20 minutes that cost a $1.00 each way. The shuttle will take you back and forth from town to the hotel. The shuttle stops at other locations both ways. About a 10 - 15 min ride. Nice if you drink and don't want to drive. Overall a great one night visit. Would stay again.

We only stayed one night at this hotel as it was in close enough proximity to downtown Chicago where we had a meeting scheduled in the afternoon near the Canalport area. This hotel had older bones, but the upgraded decor and features were wonderful. I would have given it 5* except for the noisy AC and a noisy refrigerator compressor. The wife had issues sleeping with these sounds. The room was quiet from outside noises, however as they have several tradesmen of various services staying there and we heard no truck noise in the morning.
In evening traffic, the hotel is hard to get to coming from the east on Rt 30. There is a great large Sports Bar next door that you can walk to that serves great food.
All in all, this place appears to be well managed with everything you could want.
Though driving into Chicago is never fun, this hotel being 40 miles from there made it convenient and much less expensive. I'd do this Comfort Inn all over again.

The hotel is on the edge of town, outside of the busy tourist section, easy to find, easy parking. There are several amenities that were either closed for the season, or we didn't make use of since we were just there for overnight: mini golf, game room and casino, pool, shuttle into town. They have a small shop near the front desk with souvenirs, t-shirts etc, and some outrageously priced candy. The front desk people were great, as was the guy at the bar. It was late and we didn't feel like going out for something to eat, so we just ate there. Pretty average bar food, a plate of nachos, giant burger and fries, lemonade was a bit watered down.
Our room was a typical Comfort suite, good bed, nice couch, clean bathroom, big tv. The hot breakfast sandwich in the morning was a nice touch, in addition to the normal covid continental stuff.

We stayed here on our visit to deadwood. It is about a mile from the historic downtown area but don't let that stop you from staying here. There is a trolley that goes back and forth to town if you need a ride. The rooms were large, service was very good, and free breakfast. For the money you can't beat it. Definitely worth staying here and just riding the trolley to downtown. There is a pool and hot tube. Pool is a little on the small side but really all you need if you are traveling with kids. There was also laundry that you could use if you wanted to wash your clothes.

Great location, right on the way into Deadwood, but away from the "tourist trap" businesses. Quick drive to the historic Deadwood downtown.
Check-in was a breeze. We were running early (about 45 minutes before 3pm check-in time), however that was no problem.
Felt we got the best room in the hotel. First floor; right across from the pool (could hear no noise from pool area); near fitness center and vending/ice machines.. Our room faced the highway, but could near no road noise.
Room was spotless; everything looked brand new; bathroom was huge and also spotless; Great shower and plenty of hot water; tons of shelf space around sink. Beds were super comfortable. We had queen beds, but the length seemed more like a king. I'm 6'4" and my feet didn't hang off the end.
Morning breakfast was top notch. Usual hotel fare......scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, bagels, waffles, juices, yogurt and GREAT coffee.
This was the best price of any of the other places we stayed at in the Black Hills: about $165/night during tourist season in Deadwood. Unbelievable!

We stayed in Deadwood 5 nights. Based on prices and TA reviews, I went with the Comfort Inn and Suites. In regards to the action downtown? You are only a mile away. You could walk it if you so choose to. Otherwise, there is a shuttle that picks up and drop offs twice an hour right at the front doors. The room is showing it's age. (curtains can't close fully). The breakfast is limited but the effort is good. You can pick a microwave meal (omelet, or sausage biscuit, and some spicy breakfast burrito), with a milk, juice, coffee and a muffin. Also the food in the restaurant is......a work in progress, I hope. But the beer is top notch, and the staff we have dealt with could not be any friendlier. Good size room, bed a little stiff for me, but nice (and plenty) pillows. You could do much worse than here. Also mini golf on sight for a fee, large arcade room for the kids and a couple of billiard tables. Kudos!!

I was very impressed until my company card was billed not one but two smoking fees! When my employer made inquiries on these fees they informed him it was marajauana smoke not cigarettes or vapor but 2 joints. I would like to say I have not smoked pot medical or otherwise in any rooms in my home or elsewhere. I will not be staying in this hotel ever again even if they reverse these fees and may seek legal representation for this incident. I gave 3 stars because the staff was pleasant and rooms where easy to find. However I give two thumbs down to the cleaning people and possibly the management of the establishment. She is in the process of reviewing some videos but I’m not exactly sure what this will do unless someone entered my room after I checked out at 11:06am after checking in after midnight. I hope nobody else has a problem like this. Even if they tagged the wrong room or made an honest mistake by not cleaning the room prior to my checking in I am not happy in the slightest about this situation and thought I should say something.

No we are not pet friendly.
18 years old
We were in a double room and had both a bath tub and fridge.
The room we were in had a bathtub with a shower as well as mini-fridge and microwave.
