We stayed here on our visit to deadwood. It is about a mile from the historic downtown area but don't let that stop you from staying here. There is a trolley that goes back and forth to town if you need a ride. The rooms were large, service was very good, and free breakfast. For the money you can't beat it. Definitely worth staying here and just riding the trolley to downtown. There is a pool and hot tube. Pool is a little on the small side but really all you need if you are traveling with kids. There was also laundry that you could use if you wanted to wash your clothes.

We had the best time in Deadwood. This was our first trip to South Dakota and we quickly fell in love with the Black Hills. This hotel is exceptional: especially for families! The putt putt area was closed for the season, but we spent more time downtown and sightseeing so that did not bother us. The arcade gave the kids something to do. It does need to be updated, but we did not stay to play in the arcade (haha). The room was extremely clean. We stayed in a queen suite on the first floor. It was huge! I could not get over how clean it was compared to the Hilton we stayed in at Rapid City. The employees were very friendly. Thank you for such a wonderful time! Oh, the trolley stops out front. It’s 1 dollar per person per ride. The kids loved riding.

Stayed for two nights in early October. Parking was ample and well lit. Trolly ran regularly, but really not a long walk to the downtown area. There is a sidewalk, but you do have to cross the street to get to it. Saw the maids cleaning the empty rooms surrounding ours and was encouraged to see that they kept the doors open to circulate air, and had the beds completely stripped. They looked like they were thoroughly cleaning. Loved that the windows opened and had screens. The room was big. The stairs are wide and open if you don't want to take the elevator. Front desk workers were all masked. Few people in town had masks on. Even the servers were not wearing them. Thankfully there is a strong wind if you are eating outside. Nice gift shop in the hotel. Used the pizza place (pizza lab) suggested in the hotel info book and while the pizza was good - they are located in the next town over. It took forever to get our order. Used Marcos the next night and it was faster. They have a small casino on site, but it looked pretty empty. It's in a good location and seems to be run well. We'd definitely stay here again.

Room was large, quiet and clean. Breakfast was a disappointing bagged fare (was expecting better from South Dakota, especially since more locked-down Montana gave us a hot egg buffet the day before), but that was the only complaint. It worked well for the night.

Large comfortable room. Quiet, clean and everything in working order. Helpful and friendly staff. Bar and liquor store on premises. Only a grab bag breakfast available. Poor substitute for a hot breakfast but understandable. Not within walking distance of town center but tourist bus stops in front of hotewl
