    Luxurious oasis outside of Greenville
With our daughter at school nearby, we've stayed in about every hotel in Greenville. So when I was looking for something a little more romantic to make up for the lack of pandemic travel, I was stunned to find Hotel Domestique tucked away in the nearby hills. We were welcomed with a glass of sparking wine and showed around. Location: Beautiful views of the hills and what looked like an old vineyard. There appeared to be a small development of large homes beyond the hotel, but that didn't take away from the lovely views from our room. There's nothing else out there, so we ate dinner and breakfast here. Hotel: We loved the luxe rustic decor with modern pops of color; really fun. There's also an outdoor pool and hot tub that were open even though it was snowing. A group was using the firepit as well, and the public spaces were comfortable with plenty of seating. There's also a pantry with complimentary snacks, drinks (wine, water, soda) and snacks, as well as coffee in the morning. Room: We adored the design of the rooms - high ceilings, lovely king bed with tons of feather pillows (I think there were 6!), propane fireplace, robes, etc. The bathroom had a wonderful river stone shower which felt great on my feet, and there were two sinks/vanity areas and a separate toilet. Other details included hand sanitizer and a bedside massager that was extremely powerful! Food: The restaurant looked attractive, although we opted for room service. There's a nice bar area with limited seating due to Covid; the drinks were fantastic. Room service was prompt; we ordered duck confit and trout - both were outstanding. Breakfast (again room service) was a little less impressive. The tray was bare of butter, jam, salt/pepper or any kind of garnish. It was also cold, but not a big enough deal to send back. We look forward to returning when we can spend more time outdoors exploring the grounds and nearby hiking. This hotel is very expensive for the area - breakfast was included, but the cost of the room plus dinner would deter me from spending more than one night.
aletheae2018, thank you for letting us know about your stay! We're thrilled you branched out from downtown Greenville and found us tucked away in the hills! We couldn't agree with you more about the luxe rustic décor and are glad you got to experience the rare snow flurries. Apologies we dropped the ball on your room service, and I'll share your feedback with the food and beverage leadership team. We hope to welcome you back from Connecticut soon!

    Perfect weekend getaway!
We booked an extended weekend here for our 10 year anniversary and it was spectacular! The service was so personal and friendly, and the small touches like the complimentary guest pantry made this small hotel stand out among others in its class. We splurged for the highest tier room and the mountain views were totally worth it! The on site restaurant was wonderful and servers very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu items which stood out to me as well. The location is also excellent, it's 30 minutes from Greenville which has a great downtown area for food and the beautiful falls park, and 10-20 minute drive from the many gorgeous hikes and scenery we did while we were there. I would definitely return for another relaxing, kid free getaway in the future.
@brmachado We are thrilled to hear that you both had an exquisite stay celebrating your anniversary! Our team enjoys personally catering to everyone that walks through the doors, and we thank you for your kind words from your experience. We look forward to welcoming you both back again!

Wonderful Hotel Whether you are a cyclist or not
This is a beautiful hotel and landscape with exceptional service and amenities. The rooms where comfortable and luxurious. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated and the views are lovely. We hired a cyclist as a guide up to Ceasar's Head and Ben was great. Also loved how the bike tech cleaned the bikes on return and the staff washes the stinky bike clothes. Restaurant 17 is quite lovely and delicious as well. Hope to return soon.
tollyspengler, we really appreciate you taking the time to write a review of your experience! Hopefully you got great pics of the landscape at sunset. We couldn’t be more pleased hearing how things went with Ben and I’ll make sure the Kudos gets passed along to him, as well as the bike cleaners, the stinky bike clothes washers and the Restaurant 17 team. If I could be of any future assistance, please reach out chris@hoteldomestique.com. Thank you so much!

Met Expectations and was nice to have the facility care and treat you with respect. They did everything they could to assist in relaxation but were not overly pushy about bothering you. It was a great trip.

Simply the perfect spot to disconnect and recharge. Beautiful scenery, great food and service, quiet, and some great bike riding if you want it. It’s a semi-annual trip for me and I’m already looking forward to going back!

My GF and I had an excellent 4 day stay at Hotel Domestique. Domestique offers serious cyclists a premier experience - amazing accommodations, first class restaurant (17), free breakfast, daily washing of your cycling kit, a bottle of wine daily in each room, and free snacks/drinks. On top of this, we enjoyed amazing southern hospitality and very helpful staff. During our stay, we also hired a local pro cyclist (Waylon) for a 5 hour tour of Saluda, Tryon, and the Greenville water shed. We enjoyed thrilling descents and a bunch of "punchy" climbs in the mountains of Greenville, SC while enjoying water falls and beautiful country scenery. Finally, we were lucky enough to meet George Hincapie in the hotel lobby and speak with him for 5 minutes one day during lunch.

Excellent location not far from anywhere. The service is superior but never stuffy. Next time we want to stay longer and explore the surrounding area. They rent bicycles to do that. This was our first visit but it will not be our last.

Thank you @hotel_domestique for a fabulous few days. Shout out to Alex, Rebecca, and Olivia for taking such good care of us! And also to Chef Shaak and Lindsey, Chrissy, Will, and Sam for making and serving such fantastic food and drink🍳🥗🍤@rombauervineyards wine dinner with Charlotte was fantastic and a highlight🍷 You all made my 50th birthday so memorable! So much to do in a 30 minute radius! Go to the Poinsett Bridge, as a must-see! We took in some sophisticated, boutique wineries like Marked Tree and Stone Ashe. Also visited some waterfalls that were very close with short hikes--Pearson's waterfall is actually a botanic garden, and Hickory Nut is very close and breathtaking scenery. Restaurant 17 is wonderful, and you can take a dessert wine down to the outdoor firepit to wind down and watch the sunset. Just perfect!

Could not ask for better service. From the front desk to Restaurant 17 the staff is outstanding. We live 40 minutes away, however it felt like we were so far from home. My wife and I are already planning when we can come back in the fall. We are so lucky to have this place so close to us! If you enjoy cycling the routes from the hotel are spectacular!
