All sea side properties are in a constant battle with salt air. This one is doing well in fighting the "Salt War". Rooms are comfortable and clean, front desk (Dan) are great and as a Diamond Level Guest, made sure he met our expectations. Staff (except for Mr. Apathy at the evening desk) were super and enjoyed their jobs. Now the drinks. Prices are average for the area, except that their idea of a shot glass is a thimble. Funny -- we found that when they poured, they turned their backs to the guest. We are willing to pay a fair price for a fair drink -- careful dear guest, as this isn't the right bar for that. Overall, will go back and stay there. Restaurant is underrated -- great staff and tasty food.
Hotel stay was very nice. Cleaning measures were on point with hand sanitizers stands at every point where hand contact was constantl elevator, front desk outside near pool entrance. Staff friendly and helpful. No housekeeping available due to covid during your stay so getting towels you must go down to service desk to get.which was not a problem for me. Beach towels were available with a sign in sign out sheet. If you want umbrella and chairs for the beach, you have to get in touch with the life guard on duty or you can just claim one that not reserved they will come to you for payment preferably cash. If you use a card it will be a credit card charge of 4.00. Restraunt was not to bad Pricey I thought. Lots of entrainment provided. Karaoke nights.ive DJ at pool and bingo nights. I suggest that if you want Ocean view rooms all even rooms numbers is your goal. Easy access to the beach. …
I usually don’t give reviews but I’m absolutely appalled by my recent stay here. Not only was the room not up to holiday inn standards that I usually see when I stay at HI’s but the staff was very unfriendly. My room had hairs, cobwebs, and dust. I called to the front desk for someone to rectify the situation. The “supervisor/manager” (not sure of her title- that came made me feel extremely unwelcome, that I was crazy for asking for the areas to be fixed. When I asked her for her manager she said that she was the only one I can speak with. I was shocked. Called down to the front desk for a manager was told there was no one available. I must have been near the housekeeping room because early the next month I heard all of them complaining and whining. Later in the morning I heard a screaming match between a housekeeper and the supervisor/manager from the day before. The bar/restaurant seemed to be missing a lot of their product. Rude bartenders/waitstaff. Noticed a bunch of lights out through out the hallway. Front desk didn’t seem to know what they were talking about. Would say one thing then quickly change the story. Just wasn’t relaxing at all. Not a quiet stay. Way below standards, not just HI standards but any standards. Won’t be returning.…
Paid for a “premium king” room and got the smallest king bed room ever! Most of the hotel is in serious need of an update/ replacement. Saturday evening the pool deck was overrun with unsupervised young kids. At one time there were more to an eight young kids in the hot tub and no adults….no adults even close. Also, hot tub needs a major repair. Would not stay here again. Would seek newer, larger physical plant at a minimum!
This is our second time here off season. Some things to know....Breakfast is not included, but the breakfast in the dining room was Excellent !!!! And for the price, a much better option with a great selection. Food was hot, fruit was fresh, and the view is all windows to the ocean ! Terri was one of our wait staff and she was wonderful. There is no daily maid service. If you want or need clean linens, just ask the front desk and they are very happy to help. You can have them clean your room, just ask. We opted to just get what we needed at the desk. Chris was on our floor daily, and she was very helpful ! The place is older, but it's clean !!! And they are constantly working on keeping it that way. The outdoor pool area was so nice. Plenty of seating, and tables with umbrellas. The hot tub was HOT, we did not use it but many guests enjoyed it while we were there. There is a laundry area with one w/d on the 6th floor. The old tried and true units that work well, 2 drying cycles needed to get your clothes dry. Soap and softener for sale for just a buck a piece at the desk. This hotel is tucked off the main drag in a nice quiet area. Lots of small houses around, and not a lot of traffic, so it was very relaxing. It's also close to any business or shopping or dining you want. We did take a ride to Merrell's Inlet too, just a short distance down the road . There is a beautiful outdoor fire pit also that had lots enjoying it. The pier is being rebuilt now, about a mile down the beach, but we were far enough away to not hear any construction. We walked many miles on that beach, including on a rainy day. It's not crowded with partygoers at least when we were there the week of March 21 - 25. Thanks to everyone there. Great Place to stay.…
The hotel is right on the beach. The location is in an area with less congestion than Myrtle Beach, which is to the north. The bar and restraunt face the Atlantic. The facility is a little run-down, but is still very functional. It appears to have been constructed many years ago. Staff told us that the hotel is extremely full during the warmer months. It has a pool and patio on the ocean side.
I stay at this hotel frequently for work and there are many things that make this place amazing. First of all, the front desk staff are incredible. They are super friendly and helpful with anything you could need. The bar and bartenders are a great asset to the property. The food that the restaurant serves is very good, with a wonderful upscale casual flare. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
I am giving this four stars simply because when we were packing up our car, but had not officially checked out, the housekeeper was already in our room cleaning it. We had planned to hang out for a little while, but we chose not to after coming back to the room to find her in there. We felt rushed. Other than that, the room/balcony was nice. Beds were comfy. We had a view of the parking lot, which wasn't bad. We could smell everything the restaurant below cooked, because it wafed onto the balcony It smelled delicious, even though we didn't get the chance to sample any of it. We did get stared at a lot. Idk why. I guess we didn't look wealthy as some of the other guests there. It made us feel uncomfortable. The staff was super friendly.
The surfside beach Holiday Inn is a hidden gem. We didn't find it until after we had vacationed in MB for several years. The ocean view rooms are a great way to enjoy the ocean. They have a great bar and restaurant so you don't have to leave the hotel except to enjoy the beach. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean. We absolutely love the beds and always have a great night's sleep.
Every staff member that we met was very friendly and helpful. Traveling with two small children can be stressful but our stay was really fun and relaxing. Beds were comfy. Rooms were clean. Come in with relaxed expectations and you will be pleasantly satisfied. Pay extra for the oceanfront room. Its worth it. Oh and visit Omega Pancake House it is d double d delicious ☺️
