This wonderful B&B was a highlight of our trip. Carol made us feel like old friends. The house and gardens are beautiful and the breakfasts were amazing! Our room was large and so comfortable. We appreciated having a refrigerator available. Thank you for a great stay!
My husband and I enjoyed staying here for our wedding anniversary. The B&B is a short walk away from the historic Summerville area, which we enjoyed exploring. Our room was comfortable and a nice size. Breakfast was delicious! Carol is a sweet, welcoming host. You won't regret staying at her inn!
My daughter and I arrived on the doorstep yesterday evening, having decided on the spur of the moment to spend the night in Summerville, en route from Charleston to our home in the Upstate. We were welcomed graciously, made to feel immediately at home, and shown to the Green Room. Flooded in sunlight, filled with delightful antiques and prints, and thoughtfully provided with every amenity we might desire, the room exceeded expectations. Carol invited us to explore the gardens, and (as we'd arrived late afternoon), we took a bottle of wine and plate of cheese from the local Harris Teeter out to the back porch (appropriate wine glasses, plates, knife, etc. having all been provided), where we accessed the lightning-fast Wifi, before wandering in the various garden rooms. These are a labor of love, brimming with an enormous variety of shrubs, trees, vines, and statuary, all artfully arranged and expertly tended. We walked to dinner in town, enjoying Summerville's numerous architectural delights, en route. This morning we descended early for breakfast, in time to admire the exquisite features and furnishings of this grand Victorian lady ... followed by a plentiful and delicious breakfast in the splendid dining room. It was a treat to have found this historic gem, in a beautiful part of our beautiful state!…
I think it must be frustrating for proprietors to read reviews because the context isn't right. I came from a five-star bnb so was a bit disappointed. But then I looked and saw that it is two stars and I think it's a lovely choice in that category. The decor is lovely with a lot of loving detail put into the establishment and rooms. My room was large and had a comfortable bed but the pillows were not up to par. I wish the room had a little desk, but I've been in a few places without one. I made a major mistake and double booked so didn't show up for my first night here. It was Sat. and the proprietor had a right to charge me which she did.. Btw, she is very nice. But then she had something that would keep her from breakfast and her backup was unavailable. So my choice was 7:30 am (yikes) or to come down to a continental breakfast. I was shocked and should've said something at the time. If I'm held to the mistake I made and had to pay, it seems to me I should have gotten some sort of credit so I could go out to breakfast. I've stayed at nine bnbs this trip and was shocked that there wasn't even a bag of chips in the room for a snack. There was only a small fridge outside with water, not even soda. Surely they could swing a dollar for a coke and chips. When I mentioned I drank decaf Carol was able to scrounge one pod for the Keurig. When I came down for breakfast, all the decaf was already gone, so the luxury of having that second cup on vacation was gone. The breakfast was terrible. A piece of melon was wrapped in a gray piece of prosciutto which was completely tasteless and I'm wondering if it had been frozen. The croissant and pound cake were obviously store-bought along with the cheese which was not high quality. If you're not going to bake anything fresh, at least go to the bakery and pick up some fresh baked goods. I travel alone so the entire point of me going to a BnB is to sit down with others at a set time for breakfast or at least be served the second cup of coffee. I think the place is pricey for what it offers but I'll give a pass on that as it is close to Charleston and that is probably reflected in the price. I am giving a rating of three because I may not be taking the location into account but other than that my review would be a two. And it is on a noisy road so bring earplugs or ask for a room on the back. Finally, my room had barely any toiletries. There was a fresh bar of soap and only one bottle of shampoo which was half empty. No body lotion.…
We had a wonderful stay at the Flowertown Inn, an incredibly beautiful Victorian B & B just blocks from the town of Summerville and an easy ride to Charleston. The weather was perfect for enjoying the beautiful gardens and the large back porch,,,so inviting to relax with a glass of wine! The house was a showcase of beautiful antiques and the dining room was all set with china for our delicious breakfast! Our group of 5 stayed in the green room and the cottage, which worked out well with the extra bed. Carol was very gracious and made us feel at home. If you're looking for a beautiful getaway, this is for you!
One of the prettiest B&Bs I've ever stayed in. Beautiful Victorian home, with even nicer furnishings. Tasty breakfast, and only a short walk to downtown. And Carol, the hostess, was so accommodating and hospitable.
Recently I was heading to Charleston for business and tried something a little different, we stayed in Summerville at the Flowertown B&B. I wanted something near the Summerville square with its unique restaurants and bars, but did not want a chain hotel. Flowertown is it. Just the right size you have the comfort of a small B&B but without the feeling that you are literally staying in someone's home and interrupting their life. Four rooms each with their own thermostat and bathroom makes it very comfortable. There is a beautiful porch on the back which would have been great had it been a little warmer. Flowertown is very well taken care of but what makes it all work is the owner, Carol, who is a wonderful host. There is ample parking and you are less the .5 miles from the downtown Summerville square. We will be back!…
Beautiful Victorian home restored with reverence to it's historic detail and southern charm with added convenience of modern amenities. Carol the owner is charming ~ very attentive to her guests. Please consider a stay at the Flowertown Bed & Breakfast; you will be delighted!
Beautiful place to stay. Victorian! Rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Breakfasts great, filling but not stuffing you. It is about a 20minute ride to Charleston but it is well worth the ride. It is also and easy drive to the historic plantations.
Absolutely beautiful!! Breakfast was really good and all the rooms were very clean and decorated neatly. The garden is spectacular. The owner is friendly and professional. I don’t have any complaints.
