After many years of travel up and down the I95 corridor I found myself around Santee SC on a late afternoon. After hearing about this Inn for years, I finally had a shot to stay and I was disappointed. I was expecting something better kept than many of the I95 hotels. The first room I checked into had a faulty toilet. The front desk clerk checked me into a second room which was an improvement. The toilet flushed, but the shower diverter was a challenge to engage. The king bed was comfortable, but the room and overall Inn is in need of some thorough cleaning and updating. Looking at the carpet noticing the dust gathering around and under the furniture you wonder how clean every other thing in the room might be.

Saw online and went out of our way to try it. Lovely old building, beautifully decorated but it ends there. Terrible service- waited 25 mins to get even a glass of sweet tea. Food was not hot, took foreverrrr to arrive and was basic at best. Not sure how it has higher ratings. Very disappointing! I suggest just going to their gift shop and avoiding buying any food.

First visit but should have stayed sooner as we have made this stop off I-95 south for the last 5 years on our way to Florida for the winter. Already reserved for our return inMarch 2020. Stayed in room 139. Felt as though we were at a B&B. Room was tastefully decorated & the next morning got to have a sit down breakfast in their lovely restaurant. Great gift shop as well as restaurant also serves breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Saw their sign on the interstate and decided to go. We were so glad we did. Beautiful quaint place. Service was great and food was superb. Good portions and lots to choose from Highly recommend this place to rest and stay.

The only reason I give this inn only four starts is because there is too much furniture in the room, which otherwise would be of very adequate size. The inn is decorated and furnished in the southern colonial style. An example is the "night stand" on one side of the bed, which is a 30" diameter table - too big. There is little space, other than the bed, to lay out suitcases. The restaurant is very outstanding. A hot breakfast to order is included. We also ate dinner there. The food was very good, the service attentive, the ambiance very conducive to a quiet, even romantic, dinner. I wish I did not live so far away, as I would eat there frequently.
