My husband and I stayed at Thee Matriarch to celebrate our anniversary. We got exactly what we were looking for: a nice, cozy & elegant place with great customer service, good food and a place located in a town rich with history and romance. Fred & Rachelle made us feel special! We left feeling like family :-)

As we traveled through South Carolina, we were thrilled to discover Thee Matriarch. Rachelle and Fred were wonderful hosts who made us feel right at home and comfortable from the moment the door opened. The rooms have all been updated, but still have their history alive and well at every turn. Fred's infectious smile and laugh and Rachelle's sweetness arrived...

This place is meets then exceeds every expectation of southern hospitality. Chef Fred and his stunning wife made me feel right at home the moment I pulled onto the property. Immediately our bags were taken, a tour was given and then we were invited to dinner. I wasted no time washing up for dinner as the smell of the food...

How fun to stay in a bed and breakfast over a hundred years old. The attention to detail, drinks on the veranda, breakfast delivered to your room, claw foot tub/shower, quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the rose gardens made this a very enjoyable stay.

We stayed with Rachelle and Chef Fred at their Thee Matriarch B&B in Orangeburg, SC, and it was a fantastic experience! They are welcoming, gracious and friendly - no one is allowed to be a stranger there. Their house is a marvelously restored century home, and they have a second house next door that will be renovated and opened also...

Because of some flooding in our home we had to move out for a few days and Thee Matriarch was our home away from home. Rachelle and Fred were wonderful hosts and treated us like family. Their home is wonderful! It was very comfortable with a private entrance. They were always available without being intrusive. Chef Fred served us a...

We stopped here overnight in January 2016 during our 35th Anniversary road trip. I had mentioned to Rachelle that it was an anniversary trip and when we arrived, Fred had a superb celebration layout in our room (Out of Africa )! It was absolutely perfect as I was not well and we really didn't want to go find a restaurant....

My wife and I just left Thee Matriarch and we want to tell everyone that this may be the most charming and wonderful B & B we have seen in South Carolina or the whole South. Rachelle and David made us feel at home, the shrimp and grits were to die for, the rooms are spacious and well appointed and...

This was an unforgettable weekend since it was our wedding weekend, and our first stay at the Matriarch. This B&B has jazzy modern decor, WiFi, flat screen TV, cable, Netflix, gorgeous bathroom with a jacuzzi. When you step inside, you'll forget the small town feel. Everything was wonderful.. From the best chef prepared breakfast, amazing decor.. Rachelle and Fred are...
