The Towers - nice, spacious accommodations with a nice balcony. This is a vacation rental and not a hotel so many amenities that you would expect in a hotel are not available (no room service, limited on-property dining, no daily housekeeping, no onsite registration desk). Free parking is provided however it is inconvenient if you are in the Jasmine tower as you can only cross over to the parking garage via the 3rd floor, thus two elevator rides to get to parking. Elevators can often have a lengthy wait. Stairs are not well marked so it took us a few days to figure out where the stairs are and then used those to speed up the process each day. Beach - you have access to a public beach. The property provides no beach chairs or umbrellas. There is the option to rent chairs/umbrellas from a vendor on the beach. Chair and umbrella rentals are typically full by 9:30 a.m. You are not allowed to bring pool towels to the beach. Pool - Really nice pool area. Chairs fill up quickly and people leave belongings on chairs all day to save their space. Location - This property is located in North Myrtle Beach which is a 25-35 minute drive from many attractions in Myrtle Beach. There are no bars or restaurants within a reasonable walk (with 3 young kids). Had to drive to everything. Sleeping - Beds were very comfortable and the property was not loud. I slept well on vacation which is a welcome change! We were looking for an oceanfront 2 bedroom condo with a nice pool and this property seemed to be the best option in Myrtle Beach. I found it to be a bit inconvenient for a family of 5 with nothing within walking distance and getting to our car being a total chore. Overall I would say this property is "fine."

Hotel's Favorite
Everything was great from the staff to the food at 21 Main, Seaside Cafe, and everything in between. Even with Covid going on, the Condo was clean and everyone was practicing social distancing. We will definitely be back.

Third or fourth time visiting, this time a first with the family as opposed to a guys golf group. Location is amazing as are the people. Only complaints we had is with failing washing machine that was never fixed and elevator outage that took a day or so to fix. This caused significant delays especially at peak times like 9 pool opening and 5PM dinner. With that said it is still my go to place for an extended stay with a group of people. Check in was easy and the people at the resort were very friendly.

It saddens me to leave a bad review about this resort that I used to love so much, but it has gone down. Prices have skyrocketed and are ridiculous. The microwave in our room didn’t work, the toaster was broken and one evening there was no hot water in the entire building so everyone had to take cold showers. The pool amenities are nice but dirty by the end of the day and drains are clogged with sand. It’s also very crowded so good luck on getting a chair unless you line up at 9am. Security constantly walks around watching you like prison guards. They have an HOA rule that says you cannot bring a cooler or personal beach chairs into the pool area. This was NOT stated in our pool rules given to us at check in but strictly enforced by the security guarding the pool entrance. You CAN’T even simply walk through pool area straight to the beach with these items. It is the quickest way to get to the beach, especially the less crowded side where we liked to go, but NO, they would not let us walk that way. Every day my husband had to go a much longer route through the bottom of one of the towers just to get our stuff to the beach. We spoke with a man in the elevator one day and he said he had been coming there for 8 years and has never seen such crazy rules as this year. We see it as a money game for the hotel. They want to make it inconvenient for you so you will be forced to stay in the pool area and buy their overpriced drinks and food. There is absolutely NO reason we shouldn’t be allowed to walk through the pool with our beach chairs and cooler. We aren’t even leaving them at the pool. It’s definitely not covid related because we carried two beach bags and two boogie boards as well, and those personal items were ok to bring in the pool area. It makes no sense! But we were told that if we rented a pool cabana (again, more money for the hotel), then we could have a cooler there and saw a family with one. Let me add that you are allowed to walk through the pool to the hotel with your cooler and chairs when you are leaving the beach. It makes NO sense! It’s also pretty ridiculous when the guards tell parents that they cannot have a double stroller by the pool. This is getting out of hand. If you are going to expect people to pay your new insanely high rental prices, then you need to be more accommodating and stop inconveniencing your hotel guests. Many people we spoke with during our stay are not happy. If their treatment of guests continues this way and they don’t start improving and upgrading items in the rooms, then I can easily see this resort going down even worse than it already has.

Response from John Stephan, Guest Services / Front Office at North Beach Resort & Villas
Responded yesterday
Thank you for staying with us. I apologize about the maintenance issues that you experienced and I hope that we were able to take care of those during your stay. I understand your frustration about the HOA pool rules and those have been implemented since last year which is listed on the pool rules given to guests at check out . We do have a 24 hour beach access that our guests can use to transport any items to the beach. I hope that you will give us another opportunity to make your next stay a great one.
