We had a wonderful stay at the Lookaway Inn. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on the elaborate history of the Inn and the town. We had our breakfast and coffee outside in the courtyard and for lunch we walked to the SnoCap (an old Diner) then walked around the rest of the downtown area. The owners were very... More

We had to evacuate Hilton Head due to Matthew the hurricane. Nice accommodations but the driveway is quite far from the rooms. Made good friends with the Innkeeper and she was the best part of the stay. Rooms were clean and pretty quiet but one could hear people above. I would return again only for a short stay.

Very disappointed in the Lookaway! Rooms are "refreshed" and not cleaned each day! Breakfast is mediocre at best - boxed bars and shrunk wrapped sweet rolls! Makes you want to run to Starbucks! Oh yes - got back to my room after dinner and found a lockbox on the thermostat! When I called the innkeeper I was told the thermometer... More

I had a nice stay at the Lookaway Inn. The staff were very welcoming and the room was lovely. I wish I had spent more time enjoying the property. Do note that you need to communicate your plans in advance as they may be short staffed or not have many guests. I dorm have breakfast the first morning but dos... More

We stayed in the Hawthorne room which is on the wing in the back. We arrived later than we thought and the innkeeper Sammy was very welcoming. The room was very cozy and had a small private veranda. The room was nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable, and a very nice walk in shower. The only complaint we have for... More

Let me start by saying this is a lovely property. The main house is beautifully decorated. The guest rooms, which are located in wings behind the main house, are tastefully decorated. While our room was clean, it could have used a little TLC. It appeared as if no one had stayed in it for awhile. My main disappointment was the... More

I spent the night at Lookaway Inn on my way through North Augusta recently. It is a lovely place. The main house is beautiful, and the courtyards and grounds are as well. The guest rooms are off the courtyard, and they have everything needed for a great stay. Sammy is a gracious host, and he made sure we had everything... More

I have to say I usually don't take the time to write reviews but this place was spectacular. The building is beautiful! Could maybe use a touch of paint in some areas. Walking in you are overwhelmed with the amazing room, from chandeliers to gorgeous woodwork. My room very clean, bathroom was sparkling and every piece of furniture was glowing.... More

First impression pulling into the parking lot was "Wow". We phoned ahead of time because we were pulling a 4 horse trailer and Sam who manages the inn graciously told us we could park directly in front of the inn (trailer took up 6 parking spots). He greeted us at the top of the steps with a warm southern welcome.... More

My family of five enjoyed our stay at Lookaway Inn and would definitely love to stay again. We were in town 2 nights for a wedding and didn't have much free time, but we loved the charm of North Augusta. The room was nice and clean. I was worried that since it was an historic inn my children would not... More
