    Terrific Value!
We stayed Sep 3 - 6, 2020 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is an older property but our room and the facilities we used were very well kept. We stayed in a partial ocean view room and were not the least bit sorry we passed on full ocean view to save some $. We enjoyed our balcony and the view it provided. The lower partial ocean view rooms on the left side of the hotel (facing ocean) were somewhat obscured by a building on the shore front. The ocean pool is huge! We rented a cabana for $50 a day which came with bottled water and a HUGE fruit bowl. Easily $25 in water and fruit. The cabana had a mini fridge and an extra large chaise lounge which was comfy for all 3 of us. We spent a full day on the beach, just steps away from the hotel, and rented two lounge chairs and an umbrella for $40. The beach was immaculate. The hotel provides pool towels and beach towels which were in plentiful supply. We stayed on the hotel property most of our visit and always felt 100% safe and secure. We were not traveling with children this trip but this property is definitely family friendly.
Dear Guest: Thank you so much for spending Labor Day Weekend with us, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our location with the Travel Community on Trip Advisor! We appreciate the positive feedback and are so pleased to read that you so thoroughly enjoyed your visit with us, and that although you were in a partial ocean view you still had amazing views from your balcony! We also thank you for describing so accurately our seasonal cabana service, a great option for a beautiful beach day if you want to take a break from the sand! Again, thank you for staying with us and for your kind review! We hope to have the opportunity to serve you on a future visit to the Myrtle Beach area. Sincerely, Jessica

    Golfing Vacation
I picked this resort because it was part of Hilton and found on my Hilton app. The resort was nice and south of town away from the crowd. The only complaint I had was the additional $22 resort fee. I think it should be waived during this Covid time. For $22 I saved $14.50 on 2 50% off drinks and got 2 pool towels. For 3 days ($66) I received this amenity. The lazy river tubes had to be purchased in the gift shop and I assume due to this people were just swimming in the lazy river. For those we noticed with tubes they could not really utilize lazy river due to swimmers. Also the pier which I think is part of the double tree property is open but costs $3. Why couldn’t this be included in the resort fee? We also didn’t realize until later we were not offered cookies at check-in. I found it on my Hilton Honor app. I know these are tough times due to Covid, but some of the items I requested such as water for my room did not come so we waited before calling again (think water is part of the $22 fee). Each evening we did request new towels and those came very quickly. Before you book remember there is an additional $22 so you may want to compare the price to other hotels who do not charge a resort fee. I tried to contact Hilton through the honors app without any luck so I am posting a review.
Dear Jane L: Thank you so much for staying with us, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our location with the Travel Community on Trip Advisor. We appreciate your comments regarding how much you enjoyed our location away, yet close to it all! We are fortunate to be situated adjacent to the state park away from other resorts- our beaches are perfect for social distancing! I would like to clarify two items in your review as they relate to restrictions on property due to the Corona Virus. Due to the virus, we are not offering floats for our lazy river, as we do not have an effective and efficient way to sanitize them in between each use. Although we do sell flotation devices in our gift shop, we also allow our guests to bring their own- it is not a requirement that they be purchased in the gift shop. Per Hilton directive, our cookies are only offered on an "on demand" basis at this time due to the pandemic, rather than handed to each guest. We do have signs stating this at our front desk. In regards to our resort fee, you will find that this is quite common for resorts in the Myrtle Beach area! Our resort fee includes your wi-fi access, parking, daily bottled water, 50% off beer and wine daily (or non alcoholic drinks) from 4p to 8p in our lounge, our miniature golf course across the street, our game area below the building, and complimentary beach towels. We do think this is a great value! As daily housekeeping service has to be requested and scheduled due to the Corona Virus, the bottled water does need to be requested on an "on demand" basis. We are doing our very best to keep our team and our guests as safe as possible as we navigate this new and ever changing travel climate! Again, thank you for staying with us and for your loyalty to the Hilton Family of hotels. Sincerely, Jessica

    Older, tired property
This was probably once a premier property—maybe in the ‘90s or thereabouts. But now it’s older and worn. For example, I felt uncomfortable walking barefoot on the carpeted floor in my room. The ice machine on my floor didn’t work for over a day, long after I told the front desk about it the first time. Some of the staff seems to try to be accommodating, but they seem unhappy to be here, especially during the coronavirus crisis, which put a premium on the cleanliness that I saw somewhat lacking. It was tolerable for a couple of days, but I’m moving to a newer property today for the rest of the week. To their credit, they did agree to waive their resort fee since most of the amenities were shut down because of the virus.
Dear James: Thank you so much for staying with us, and thank you for taking the time to share a review of our resort with the Travel Community on Trip Advisor. We were disappointed to read some of the feedback in your review, as our resort, and our brand, both pride ourselves on our extremely high standards of service and cleanliness. As you mention in your comments, this is a highly uncertain time for all of our team members, and the hospitality business in general. I do feel, however, that our team has done an excellent job of acclimating to the changes and communicating these changes to our guests. Unfortunately, due to the current climate, we were operating on a somewhat limited staff during your visit. Therefore, some items may have taken a bit longer to be addressed then they may have been under normal circumstances, not only due to limited staffing but to extra cleaning measures put in place. i can assure you, however, that all departments of our resort work diligently to keep our property looking its very best and operating smoothly. Again, thank you for staying with us, and for your feedback. Sincerely, Jessica

This hotel needs a huge refresh. It so shows it’s age. The room and grounds need some huge TLC. The bright spot is the view. But that view is not enough for us to ever come back. Very disappointed, expected a lot nicer.

Our stay here was very pleasant. A clean comfortable room although in a different location than the main hotel, still nice. Only thing we found annoying was the air planes flying so close overhead. Loved the warm cookies and friendly staff upon checkin. Would love to stay longer next time.

First off I didn’t stay at this hotel. We went to the pier right on the hotel’s property. If you get to meet Melvin you’re a lucky person! He is amazing and so helpful! He made our fishing experience wonderful. I didn’t know anything about ocean fishing and he was there every step of the way! You’re the best Melvin!

Really do not like posting negativity especially when it’s based on a business performance, however this has been my second trip down to Myrtle and staying at the #DoubleTreebyHilton. Let’s first start with when we arrived at 10am we stopped into the office just to let them know we have arrived and that when our room was ready to provide a number to contact us since we had been on the road for 11.5 hrs. The associate manning the front desk stated (on her own, at no point did we ask) she was upgrading our room from a partial to a full ocean view and would have it ready soon as there was vacancies the day we arrived, since the room we requested was unavailable. So okay assuming people have to be out of their rooms by 11 we thought that was great we could be in a room latest 12:30 as she was expediting our room, and she stated we would have the first available. That however was not the case. We couldn’t get into a room until 3pm. Once in the room it was filthy carpet had crumbs and dog hair from the previous guest. Furniture not dusted and the mirrors had been all dirty. 😤😤😤 Moving forward: caught attitude from the cleaners because we asked to use their vacuum and was told no so they had to come in an do it as soon as we accessed the room, and desk services because here we are today Wednesday been here since Friday and the only time room service knocked was on Tuesday morning at 9am. We asked for an hour as there is 4 of us that need to get ready to leave. Needless to say they never returned. We had to call this am and ask for service when I was now informed that I need to schedule 24hrs in advance which was not the case last year when I was here nor did they mention that this checkin. This will be our last time staying at this hotel. What a nightmare and horrible service. Way to much money for the lack of consideration for the people paying their paychecks.

I stayed here for a work conference. In year's past we have stayed at another hotel. This one was a bit of a let down in comparison. Upon arriving, it took me quite a while before I even found the check-in area. It'd be great to have a large sign on the building indicating check in, or even smaller signs around the parking lot pointing you to that area. I checked into my room, and immediately had a bag allergic reaction (I am allergic to both dogs and cats). The carpet in that room look pretty dated/stained, so I am sure it had been in there a while. Staff was kind and accommodating in switching me to a new room. The second room was on the 6th floor, and I kept hearing this loud whirring noise, like someone was sanding or vacuuming, every 5-10 minutes. It last for different lengths and continued on until about midnight. I could hear it over the AC unit and my TV. I couldn't figure it out for an entire evening, until the next day I got on the elevator, and there was the noise. My room was more than 50 ft from the elevator and I could still here this in my room. So odd. In addition to that, there are planes and helicopters flying overhead at all hours for tours and from the airport takeoff. Since this is more of a motel, the hallways are outside and act like big echo tunnels. They had maintenance/cleaning staff walking around at 8am with I think what are probably the loudest walkie talkies known to man. Most of the walls, signs, carpets, floor, gates etc seem broken, old, and worn down, but typical for what I picture when I think of old beach hotels. I could never get service in my room, despite being up on the 6th floor, and the wifi was a pain in the ass to stay connected to. The food I ordered from the restaurant was the saving grace, as well as the food served for our conference. However, the bar staff I ordered my lunch from was not very friendly. Overall, my stay here was just a let down.

We stayed in a two-queen full ocean view room with a small refrigerator and coffee maker. The staff was lovely and very helpful. The onsite restaurant and bar were good. But on the whole, the resort is rundown bordering on gross. The pools are grungy with broken loungers and peeling paint. Our room had a moderately comfortable bed and lots of decent pillows, but the comforter was dirty, the carpet was filthy—I actually sprayed it with a can of Lysol to be able to walk on it without cringing—and the bathroom had cracked walls and seals. The staff said renovations were planned. I would wait to stay here until they are completed.

However, we sincerely apologize for the condition of your room and the facilities, as it's clear we fell short of our usual high standards during your visit. This resort is huge. Great oceanfront accomodations. Now under new management. The hotel is dated but looking to get a total revamp this fall. Can't wait to see how great it's going to look. Toby and Melissa in the restaurant are such great and friendly servers. Jessica at the front desk is amazing! Pier is right here and perfect for fishing. Not on a crowded strand so there is always beach area available to set up and relax.

We come to Myrtle Beach each year for Waves Of Praise Gospel Concert Labor day weekend and then again for our anniversary. This was by far the worst doubletree by Hilton I have ever experienced. This hotel is very dated. The rooms were clean and comfortable But the rooms need some upgrades. the shower wall was pealing and had mold or mildew. The rooms are not very well lit. The carpet is nasty and needs replacing. Burns and stains on carpet and chairs. Outside hallways were full of cob wells & spiders especially by the elevators. And I did not see any bugs but something bit me on my arm. The staff was super nice, which made up a little for the accommodations. Beds were okay. I am a Silver hilton Honors Memeber and was very surprised at the total look of this hotel to be a Hilton. Until rooms are upgraded I don't think we will return to this hotel. But I will say staff was super nice and friendly. I don't like giving bad reviews at all but I think its time for a update on this hotel to remain a Hilton brand.

I was a little disappointed by this hotel. I normally stay hiltons and I am an Hilton honors member and by far the accommodations were average to slightly below. Only because of the wear and tare of this hotel. We stay in the Palmetto building and it’s somewhat dated. Rooms were clean but carpet needs to be cleaned or taken up. Burn marks in carpet. Outside hallways needed cobwebs and spiders taken down especially by the elevator light fixtures. The service we received was great. No issues there. Yes I realize it’s on the beach and room are used often. I was just disappointed at the exterior and room interior look.
