This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was very dirty, I slept on top of the sheets because I didn’t know if the sheets were clean. The shower was falling apart. The hairdryer was so clogged with lint it wouldn’t dry my hair and I was afraid it would start on fire. I found a cherry coke pop can under my bed, however no one in my room drank cherry coke all week. I did not walk on the carpet without shoes on because it was so dirty. The lazy river did not work the whole time we were there and was a greenish/brown color, this on top of the other dirty pools and covered pool that looked like the roof was going to cave in. It’s in a terrible location and the planes from the airport fly so close over the hotel it shakes it. The staff was slow and not very helpful. There is literally no redeeming qualities about this hotel. Staying here ruined my families vacation and I couldn’t wait to get home to shower and wash everything that was in that hotel room with me. If you plan to visit Myrtle Beach my advice would be to stay far away from this hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Staff so friendly and attentive. Hotel spacious, clean and modern. I had a room with a balcony overlooking oceanfront. Great location. Few minute drive to get gas, go to market commons and a short ride to Broadway at the beach. Centrally located. Quiet and kept very well maintained. I highly recommend a stay here.

Dear Guest: Thank you so much for staying with us, and thank you for taking the time to share a review of our resort with the Travel Community on Trip Advisor. We were so disappointed to read the details you provided in your feedback regarding your room's condition. We apologize that we were not able to accommodate your reservation with us in a unit that was more comfortable for you. We recently stayed at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront for a four-day- weekday- Getaway. Let’s start with the plus: The restaurant is great for dinner. Our Server Lindsey, was excellent, as was the Calabash Style Seafood Platter, which was so good, I not only had it twice, but looked up the recipe. The Shrimp Tacos were a big hit as well, we even took an order to go, and ate them after we arrived home, as we had a short flight. The outside deck of the restaurant adds romance and refreshment from the ocean breeze. On Check in-we arrived early and were offered an alternative room to our two Queen Bed request, we turned it down, as I understand that hotel staff is limited and if I want a clean bed everyday: I just get an extra bed. We were able to check our luggage until our Double Queen was ready. Denise at the Front Desk has that kind of quirky Southern Charm that is as smooth as Paula Deen’s cake batter and located us a great room in the Palmetto Section overlooking the Lazy River, with a beautiful view of the ocean. We kept our sliding glass doors on our Fourth-Floor unit open for our entire four-night stay, listening to the waves lull us to sleep. To see the last Super Moon of the year, rise from the ocean was a superlative treat. The room was as stated by previous Reviewers; the carpeting needs to be replaced with wood flooring, and those units holding the fridge and microwave, are not only outdated, but were dusty as well, however having a fridge and microwave in the room is still a plus for us, so after I called for washcloths ( none were in the room on check in, just towels) the wash cloths were delivered and I used one to dust and clean the dusty cabinets, We were told about housekeeping at check in, so I called on the second day to have our room cleaned the next day. The Beach chairs for two with attached umbrellas are darling, but what I consider expensive; so, we used the coupons in the Guidebooks (GET TWO OF EACH!) to get beach chairs and discounts on an umbrella from one of the numerous Beach Stores. Overall, we had a relaxing Chill Out Getaway. I appreciate TripAdvisor and the ability to read reviews from other visitors, good, bad, or simply informative.

Dear Michelle W: Thank you so much for staying with us, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our resort with the Travel Community on Trip Advisor! We love your review's title and your description of what sounds like an absolutely wonderful four day stay in Myrtle Beach, with some great ocean views, waves crashing, and a special super moon. We appreciate your objective and positive feedback, detailing the highlights of your time with us as well as some areas that were in need of improvement. It was also fun for us to read your description of the hospitality extended to you by Denise, our southern charm specialist by way of Long Island, NY! She is an absolute delight and pleasure and really enjoyed reading your feedback. Again, thank you for staying with us, and for your feedback and for your tips and recommendations for fellow travelers. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you on a future visit to Myrtle Beach and thank you for being objective. Sincerely, Jessica

I am currently staying at the Doubletree Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Good: The staff is friendly The bed is comfortable The lobby is nice. However, that's where the positives end. The bad: The hotel is dated. The carpet in the room is dirty ( recommend wearing shoes) The shower fills up with water, I assume the drain is not working correctly. The cleanliness of the room is bad. I used the room telephone and it is dusty and the bad cord causes static during the call. I prefer Hilton,as I am a Hilton Honors Gold member, but I will not stay at this hotel again and I would recommend the same to anyone reading this post.

Just disgusting. The people in the adjoining room smoked the entire time we were there, making our room smell like cigarettes, cigars and weed. The airport started flights directly over head at 6:30 am and didn't stop until well after 10pm. The pool did t open until 9am, it was dirty, the lazy river was a pee area for drunk rednecks, and the rv campground next door uses all the facilities, suck as they are. The pool bar is only open from 11am until 6pm, the lounge furniture is terrible. The elevator smelled like a drunk peed in it after putting out a cigarette. As far as the rooms, well, I will attach photos. The dark stain on the carpet I am pretty sure was blood. The shower wall was warped so badly we were worried it would fall on us, and my daughter wouldn't even get in the tub. The shower head and faucet handle leaked the entire time there were on from behind the wall panel. Overall, there isn't enough money in the world to make me go back to this place again. Disgusting.

Dear Guest: Thank you so much for staying with us, and thank you for taking the time to share a review of our resort with the Travel Community on Trip Advisor. We are sorry to read that you do not plan on returning to the property and that the room in which you stayed was not comfortable for you and your family. I am not sure if you brought any of these concerns to the attention of our management team while on the property, as our goal is to always ensure our guests are in accommodations that are suitable for them, and if any issues do arise, we make every effort to make them right for you. We would have gladly assisted in any way that we can, however, it sounds as if our location overall was not for you. In addition to our pool bar that is open daily from 11am to 6 pm, our resort also features a full lobby bar that is open 11 am to 11pm, and a full bar in "Southern Tide" on the pier which is open from 11 am to 8 pm. We have multiple pool areas with public bathrooms, not "redneck pee areas". We do have a campground on our property, and as they are also our guests they are permitted to use our facilities. We are sorry to read you did not enjoy your time at our property. Sincerely, Jessica

The Room: We were in room 525 in the Palmetto Building. The room was clean and updated and the beds were comfortable. We requested housekeeping daily and they came every day except when our do not disturb sign was up. If we needed more towels we just called down to the front desk and housekeeping was very quick to deliver them. All in all – it was a typical beach hotel room. The view from the balcony was lovely, full ocean front view. The hotel is in a flight path but we never heard the planes at night while we were sleeping and they were fun to watch during the day. The Beach: The beach is lovely and uncrowded here. The water is warm and shallow, the kids loved playing in the waves. There is a lifeguard and chairs and umbrellas were available to rent though we brought our own chairs most days. The Hotel: This property is a serious gem. After exploring other areas of Myrtle Beach we realized how lucky we were. This hotel has ample green space and lovely landscaping. We often felt like we were walking through a Caribbean resort. The grounds crew was always working hard in the morning to make the property look great. The pier on property is a nice bonus and free to walk on if you are staying at the hotel. We spent a day at the Ocean Pool and rented a Cabana. It was a great way to spend an afternoon while the kids played in the water. The kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool (it is heated) and we would go there for evening swims. Both beach towels and pool towels are provided by the pool. If you like evening swimming I would recommend stashing a few extra towels as they are not replenished in the evening. The ate several meals at the hotel restaurant, our favorites were the Tuna Poke, Seafood Platter and Azure Colada! Bottom Line: Don’t listen to the negative reviews. We couldn’t find one correct thing in all of them that we read. This is a wonderful place and you will have an amazing time!

First things first. This is not a True Hilton property. they bought it from another company. Then a hurricane hit it, and from then on they spent more money fixing the pier than the hotels itself. Don't get me wrong. The pier is amazing. The Palmetto building is truly more like a motel with the doors outside. We got the room through a HGV package which of course sounded too good to be true. After reviewing on Trip Adviser I kept my expectations low. Over all the room was nice, a little dated however the bathroom was another problem. Literally a crack down the whole shower wall where the panel itself was splitting in half. The plaster around the tube and frame was all cracked and chunks missing, The towel bars were full of paint from the quick paint job they tried slapping this place back in shape. That was the only major problem with the room. Thank God. The AC could blast cold like you would not believe! That I enjoyed. The grounds themselves were dated, the pools were always dirty (I found cups and straws along with plenty of dead floating bugs in the pool. The water also looked a funky green instead of a bluish color. Access to the beach is nice, which is it's major draw. The airplanes and helicopters overhead, yep, it's true. There is a lack of staff which means if you want housekeeping to clean your room you must schedule 24 hours in advance! So for 3 nights we bypassed that. Again if you are paying full price, avoid this hotel. It's not the worst, but if you you do pay a lot, know what to expect. Read these reviews!

Dear Guest: Thank you so much for staying with us, and thank you for taking the time to share a review of our resort with the Travel Community on Trip Advisor. We would like to extend our apologies that there were areas on the property in need of improvement and that there were some condition issues in your guest room and some oversights at the pool areas. We can assure you that we are a true Hilton property, and that we are managed directly by Hilton. The resort was converted to a Hilton in 2016 from an independently owned resort, which is not an uncommon practice for the Hilton brand. Again, thank you for staying with us and for your feedback. We hope you continue to stay with the Hilton Family of hotels moving forward. Sincerely, Jessica

Rooms/hotel need updating especially for the price. No housekeeping and this should be told when booking the stay! You have a great location, spend some money to bring it up to date and hire more staff!

Dear Guest: Thank you so much for staying with us, and thank you for taking the time to share a review of our resort with the Travel Community on Trip Advisor. We are pleased to announce that we do hope to proceed with some upgrades/renovations throughout the property within the next year. In regards to our housekeeping procedures, it is listed on our website that some services may be limited once you arrive to the property. We also have the procedures listed on the back of the maps that we provide at arrival, and do our very best to directly communicate this to each guest checking in so it is not a surprise or something they are unaware of. In regards to hiring, we have been aggressively attempting to hire since January. We offer competitive pay and excellent corporate Hilton benefit, unfortunately, as with the majority of the hospitality industry especially in the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand/high tourist areas, there has been a severe labor shortage this season, and since the post covid climate. Again, thank you for staying with us, and for your feedback. Sincerely, Jessica

I am writing to share how disappointed I am in the following property. I stayed there from July 19-25, 2022 and from the start had nothing but issues, day one our toilet broke twice, the fridge door handle broke off even though I pointed it out to the maintenance man, Lawrence (lovely man) he said he couldn't do anything about it. Last but certainly not least, I spent my entire vacation going to the front desk to ask (more like beg) for housekeeping service to which I never received no matter whom I spoke to (Carrie, Branden, Jessica and Troy). They were certainly apologetic however, I had to go out and buy cleaning products and clean my own room to keep my family comfortable, call for towels daily and wait a very long time for there arrival and finally literally go up and down the hallway to locate any staff member to get toilet paper for the room, to which I ask them for service as well to no avail. I was told the General Manager would contact me on Monday and it is now Wednesday, and I have heard nothing from him, I guess I should assume like the service from the hotel I will have to continue to reach out to get assistance with my bill and fight to right the wrong that was done during this stay.

Dear Guest: Thank you so much for staying with us, and thank you for taking the time to share a review of our resort with the Travel Community on Trip Advisor. I understand that you experienced a great number of inconveniences as it relates to daily housekeeping services for your room. There seemed to be a level of miscommunication between the housekeeping team and your daily service, and for this reason specifically, we did connect you directly with our Housekeeping Manager, Troy, in the hopes of getting this resolved. We did try to make this right for you by removing your daily upgrade fee of $125 for five nights, two and a half nights of your stay at $239 plus tax, as well as your daily resort fee of $15 per day. You did speak with our Director of Front Office on your day of departure regarding additional compensation, which unfortunately we were not able to agree to due to the level of compensation that had already been provided up to this point.. At this time, we did advise that the General Manager was the only person who would be able to extend any additional compensation and provided him with your information. We are sorry that your time with us was stressful and that our team's efforts were not enough to resolve your concerns. We hope that you will continue to stay with Hilton Family of hotels moving forward. Sincerely, Jessica
