The Gazebo Inn is one of the only remaining ORIGINAL, family owned and operated Mom & Pop OCEAN FRONT hotels left in Myrtle Beach. If you are looking for lazy rivers, expensive linens and room service, WE ARE NOT the place for you. If you are instead looking for clean, comfortable, family friendly "no frills" accommodations for an extremely LOW rate, the Gazebo Inn IS the place for you!!! The Gazebo Inn was built in the 1970's and still offers that fun, nostalgic kind of beach vacation that many of us grew up on. The view is fantastic, our pool and hot tub sit directly on the ocean front, most of our rooms have private balconies, all of our rooms have at least a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Kitchenettes are available in most room types for a minimal upcharge. We offer free BASIC WIFI, free onsite parking, guest laundry room, interior hallways for security, and direct beach access. Stay and see why most of our guests have been staying with us for generations.

Hello Jennifer. You have written several reviews about the same situation over the last year and a half. You were given an excellent monthly winter rate in the early winter of 2019, Unfortunately we had to ask you to leave after getting very aggressive towards other guests and staff on numerous occasions. It’s a shame that we are still having to defend our decision to protect our guests and staff over your desire to stay and continue to verbally abuse them. Our business is made up primarily of repeat guests that return year after year because we consistently offer clean, quiet, family friendly accommodations for a very reasonable rate. I regret that things did not work out for you here and I wish you the best. Julie

I guess no matter what time of year the gazebo never disapoints. Just a weekend getaway with my husband. The only thing is it was cold. I can say we will be back in July if not sooner. Enjoy seeing all the families we have met over the years.

Thank you for the great review Miss E! I LOVE that you LOVE our little "ancient" , safe & friendly place :-) I am sure that you have figured out that the last review was written by someone that we had to ask to leave due to his unacceptable behavior, and I do mean UNACCEPTABLE! Every now and then we run into one of "those" kind of people, and of course when we do, we run them out! I know that you and your family have been staying with us for years, and we greatly appreciate your business. I promise you that we will continue to strive to offer you and our other valued guests the clean, comfy, affordable and safe vacation accommodations that you have grown to expect from the Gazebo Inn. Thank you for making us your home away from home! We are looking forward to seeing you once again the next time that your visit Myrtle Beach. Until then.... Warm regards, Julie, Rob & Gazebo Inn Crew

This hotel is extremely outdated with ancient beds and old box televisions that apparently do still exist. These old TVs aren't a cute novelty throwback, just plain ol junk with awful pictures. In the owner's defense, it is a very budget friendly accommodation with ocean views, clean rooms that are roach & insect free. Bearable for those who can easily himble themselves for a few days OR if you're absolutely out of options as I was. Great old school spot for elderly people or older married couples who plan to stay in their rooms or occasionally walk beach for vacation. The hotel staff is relatively friendly but ridiculously strict on their policies and nosey beyond belief. They do NOT allow any unregistered guests to visit your room for any length of time. My aunt who brought me food was hassled for entry regarding her hour visit. No one is allowed passed the desk if you aren't a guest, fair enough. However, they obsessively watch their cameras (as informed 4 times now by all staff members) and they unapologetically impose on your business and question you as to what you are doing 24/7. Granted, I am not into drugs or hookers which I understand may be an issue for such an cheap old hotel but They have no qualms on distuebing you with a knock on the door just to make sure you feel like you're doing something you "shouldn't" be. They lock this ancient building up at night and you can only access the building via room key which is unusual when there is no in house staff here past 10pm to let you in if your room key stops working (or in my case last night, the actual card reader broke and wouldn't accept any key). I had to wait outaide in an awful 25mph wind storm with frigid temps. A number was posted on the door for locked out guests only. After summoning a grumpy maintenance man, he finally showed up with plenty of attitude, questions and I'll intent. He wanted to find any reason he could to not admit me in my room 11pm at night. I had to redundantly verify petty booking details to get copies of my room keys. (Although I checked in with my Mom with the entire staffs knowledge.) My Mom was absent from the room while working 3rd shift and apparently she forgot to add my name on the guest list giving grumpy maintenance guy all the ammo he needed to make himself feel omportant and guve me an even harder time. Finally, he let me in and I enjoyed a quiet evening to myself. The invasion of privacy, prison like sanctions and the noticeable million ➕ nit-picky rules they have printed on every paper and written on every surface most definitely will keep me from ever staying here again. In fact, if they offered me a free month long vacation I would decline. There is no continental breakfast or common competitive ammenties most other hotels have (other than an old pool). They still run neck and neck on comparable nightly rates for hotels at this price point. Suprise! Gazebo Inn has no guests besides myself and maybe 1 or 2 other guests. In my 34 years of coming to this beach I have never heard of anyone staying here...it all makes more sense to me now. Finally, though this review may seem negative, it is true and factual. They are very respectful and grateful to veterans which is awesome. Also, I will add that it is my mother's opinion along with her husband that this hotel is nice & preferable to a 3 to 5 star resort. That said, they are 65 years old and only leave the room for a meal or a quick walk on the beach. Don't come here if you value privacy, practical policy, modern convenience or comfortable beds. However, if you are stuck in a winter wind storm with no where else in the world to go, Gazebo Inn is ideal in that scenario. Grateful to be checking out soon and hopefully not as soon as this review posts as I'm sure they would love to kick me out for being honest and keep my family's money. I hope this review helps. - A fair and honest reviewer.

Thank you for pointing out that we salute our veterans and that we care about the security and safety of our guests. I also appreciate that you mentioned we offer clean and affordable rooms that your Mom and other family members find to be very nice and have enjoyed on multiple occasions. After that, your review takes a twisted turn. I am sure that most people can read between the lines of your rant, however I do still feel the need to clarify a couple of things. Let's start with the fact that your Mother rented the room in HER NAME and registered for 2 people. She is a very nice lady that has strayed with us many times in the past, Since the person renting the room is supposed to be actually staying in the room, it is no our policy to get the name or names of the other guests staying in the room. For whatever reason she did not seem to stay in the room very much during this particular stay with you. It was almost as though she rented the room for you and then left. We did however see the many local vagrants that you continued to try to bring up to your room on a daily basis. In fact, we were told by a couple of these locals that we stopped before they could get in that you were letting them stay with you at night. They certainly knew where your room was and how to get in touch with you. We explained to your very nicely that for the safety and security of ourselves and other guests, only REGISTERED guests were permitted on the property. Your unregistered "visitors" were politely asked to leave, and you were given a warning that you flat out ignored. It became clear that as soon as we closed for the night at 4 PM, our policies went right out the window and the place was yours to disrespect any way that you saw fit to do. Too bad for your and your pals we caught on to you very quickly. In addition to letting your "visitors" use the Gazebo as a flop house after hours, your were also constantly loosing your keys or forgetting them as was the case the night that you mention being locked out in your review. The door wasn't broken, you had simply ONCE AGAIN lost your keys. The "grumpy" guy that you speak of was only doing what he should have done before letting someone gain access to the building and giving them a key to a room. He had to validate that you belonged here which took him a bit of time to do since the room was in your Mother's name and not yours. We wouldn't have a business very long we were to let in random strangers into our secured building without question and then proceeded to give them keys to rooms that were registered in another persons name. Sorry, that just doesn't fly here. After numerous efforts to get you to stop breaking policy including speaking to your Mother about what was happening, we had no choice but to ask you both to vacate the property. We like your Mother very much and therefore we tried to work with her, but you just simply would not comply. Your Mother was issued a full refund for her unused day, and she got you out of here without further issue. I wish you all the best of luck for your future stays. Just please remember that it wont be here. This little "ancient" place of ours has standards. Regards, Julie
