We came here for a nice quite vacation and to celebrate our 33rd Anniversary. We soon found out we had we to face daily construction. From 8 am to about 6pm the noise was horrific. They were drilling into the cement and grinding all day, it was like going to the dentist but 100x louder. Could not sleep in at all and needed to stay away from the hotel from morning to night to avoid the horrific noise. DO NOT COME HERE UNTIL THEY FINISH CONSTRUCTION! WORSE VACATION HOTEL WE HAVE EVERY BEEN TO IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! Oh by the way the free breakfast stinks too. The staff were apologetic but that did not solve the noise problem.

Love the Strand! Heads up to all planning to stay in the near future: had a bad experience a few weeks ago (March 22, 2021 was my check in). All set for a beach 3 day getaway, excited and ready to check into one of our favorite hotels. But, we got there only to find construction work going on, could not use the balconies, workers on scaffolds looking inside from the balconies, contractors starting at 7:00 am, musty smells and unable to open the balcony doors for fresh air. We could not tolerate it and began a process of trying to find another place to stay (ended up with a hellish experience elsewhere). So, if you are planning a trip to the Strand, you might want to call and check on construction status.

Let me start by saying the beach was beautiful! The outside amenities were also very nice including the pool. Hotel breakfast was average with fresh fruit a plus and the staff very friendly. My biggest complaint was how dirty the room was. The counter was dirty along with the coffee pot. All the door handles and light switches were also dirty. The doors were all filthy with handprints and fingerprints on them. I understand the outside windows being dirty because we are on the ocean, but there were handprints, nose prints and god only knows what else on the inside. Carpet was dirty and stained along with something splattered on the wall and kitchen cabinets. The hotel claimed due to covid-19 no housekeeping provided, which I was extremely fine with, but claimed they were following covid -19 protocol for disenfecting. This I call crap. My husband and I cleaned the room ourselves. Don't believe what you see on the website.

Came for a bit of a getaway with my daughter and her best friend. After the drive we went to check in at 4pm as stated, to only find out that our room wasn’t ready. We were finally able to get in our room at almost 5pm. What I walked into was nothing like I expected. The room needs some definite upgrades. There was a stain on the carpet and just the overall cleanliness of the the room left some definite room for improvement. The sink in the bathroom was very slow to drain and even started leaking so I had to put the trash can under the sink and had to use our towels to clean up. The final morning we were there we were woken up by staff letting the door to the supply closet slam not once but twice since it was across from our room and their hand held radios going off at a very loud volume at 7am. The view was ok, but we could clearly see into the other hotel rooms. The parking situation was definitely tight as it was in a parking deck across the street. I drive a midsized vehicle and the ramps to get to the upper parking spaces were tight. It says it was a resort and for what I paid I expected a bit more than what I got. I will not be staying there again.
