We decided to return to the Anderson this year because of our previous experiences. We were greeted by the front desk who have taken precaution with masks and plastic partitions. The room was sealed and you could tell the room had been thoroughly cleaned by the smell as you entered. The refrigerator had a picture of what areas were cleaned. The gentleman who helped us take our items to the room was very friendly. We liked that no one entered the room during our stay and we could request towels and items as needed; response time was amazing. I love the text feature which allows the front desk to focus on the face to face interaction but still respond to me when available. Only downside was the dishwasher outside is rusted some and a few of the dresser drawers in the bedroom were broken; understandable with the constant occupancy. The main entrance was closed at all times so after 10pm you had to walk through the drop off area to the elevators before 10pm you can enter through the side entrances to the elevators. This was a bit inconvenient but I’m sure won’t be permanent. We love the location of the Anderson, the parking garage is easy to maneuver and their trip protection for the unanticipated issues makes the decision is easy. We would highly recommend visiting the Anderson.

During this COVID 19, the extra steps to help keep you safe was excellent. Hand sanitizer was placed in the elevator, outside the elevators, everything was spayed and wiped down before another guest to sit, and chairs on the pool deck were socially distanced.
The rooms were very clean ans spacious.

I'm an owner of Hiltons Grand Vacations Club & every time I stay at one of their resort clubs it is never a disappointment. This hotel was absolutely a pleasure to stay at for our 7 day stay. Its located right in the center of Myrtle beach so tons of things were walking distance or a very very short car ride to places. Our 2 bedroom plus suite was absolutely spacious & had everything you needed & had 2 separate balconies that gave a beautiful view of the beach day or night. The only thing disappointing was the hotel can use a bit of an update as things are a bit outdated as far as carpets, blinds, doors, & elevators. The only thing that would have made it a perfect stay was they could have cleaned a little better as there were rust spots on doors & dirt & grime in the shower & water stains. Bed was absolutely the best I've ever slept in & had amazing sleep daily. I highly highly recommend

This hotel was disgusting! We expected an extremely clean room because of all the new sanitizing measures hotels need to take due to the coronavirus. But that is definitely not what we found at this hotel. When we checked in to our room the room had a label on it that said it had been sanitized, but on our balcony was an empty used beer can, in our bathroom were pill capsules on the counter, there were more purple pills on the floor near the breakfast bar, and the hallway was not vacuumed the entire time we were there... even though there were large pieces of garbage all over the floors!! I told them this; but they STILL did not vacuum the hallways. This place is a dump! Do not stay here if you want to feel safe and clean. Even the hand sanitizing stations in the elevators were empty the entire time. Also, they lock the entrances to the pools at 8pm BUT that is the ONLY way to get back in to the hotel if you are on the beach without going out along an alleyway and then walking next to the road to enter through the front of the building. This was extremely unsafe and inconvenient. Oh and our bathroom shower was falling apart. The water seal was hanging off of the door and the grouting had huge chunks coming off around the drain. My son stepped on a sharp piece and cut his foot. Just unacceptable all around.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel.
Cons: 1. Hotel is not strictly enforcing non-smoking policy so if you have a joker neighbor then you will have to inhale that smoke.
2. There is only one lane for unloading your luggage which is always busy and long lines. It took us 45 minutes to check and unload.
3. Hotel is old and rooms are not so clean. Old furniture and bathroom.
4. None of the hotel staff wears mask.
5. Main parking is 2 blocks across the street. Also first 2 floors of the parking is reserved for valet parking (which is not free) and after 2/12 floor there is no elevator. Which confusing, frustrating and not convenient.
6. Front desk never answers the call. And if you are lucky and they did answered then they don’t do what they promise you to do.
7. It’s way too expensive. No value of money.
8. They will sell your contact info, I started getting calls by phone marketers about surveys and offers from the hotel right after I checked out.

Pros: 1. Location of the hotel is very convenient.
2. The view from hotel is very nice.
3. Floor plan is good and you can stay up to four adults in one bedroom.
4. They will help you to get your stuff in your room.
5. Landry, full kitchen, two TVs, furnished bedroom, refrigerator, microwave.
6. They will do room service every 3 days so if you are here for less than that then you not gonna get any room cleaning service.

You will face sun in the balcony since morning so it is no fund sitting facing sun in the morning. But some people like it so it’s a personal preference.

Extremely disappointed in our stay here. Anderson advertises that it offers luxurious accommodations and that is simply not what we experienced. For the price we paid to stay here, I expected a much, much more!

Getting checked in is a nightmare. You pull into a very small drive through garage only to find several cars parked while folks are checking in, and there are no signs or directions on what to do. We pulled through once, barely getting through the line of cars, only to pull back in to ask how to and where to park to check in.

We were given room 814 which is a one bedroom, ocean view room with a sleeper sofa. This room needs so much TLC, I don't think anyone has come through to do any sort of inspection as to the condition in a very long time.

* The chair was dirty & stained to the point where you didn't even want to sit
on it.
* The carpet was extremely dirty, ripped, and is buckled/wrinkled in several areas
throughout the room. Walking on it barefoot after I showered made my feet
black.
* The sheets on the bed didn't cover the mattress and the two box springs that
were pushed together, weren't even. The bed was horribly uncomfortable.
* There were stains on the ceiling, chipped paint, wall dings, and a filthy, sticky
dining table (between the leafs).
* The sleeper sofa had a cushion that was ripped, filthy, and overall no
cushioning where anyone could sleep on it comfortably.
* The extra blanket for the sleeper sofa was dirty and had black hairs all over it,
and the extra towels in the bathroom had blood stains on them that appeared to
be fresh.

They advertise that if staying five days or longer, Housekeeping will come in on the third day to clean and change bedding. That was not the case when I requested it through the front desk. They did however, come to see if we needed any extra towels or anything.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here for the 4-Star price tag. For almost $300 a night, I would look elsewhere.

It’s been several years since I personally have stayed at this location and I was not at all impressed. It was nice to have updated owners rooms but the rest of the resort was just grimey, dirty and not taken care of very well. I will definitely not stay here again, the other two Myrtle beach locations knock it out the park every time compared to Anderson ocean club.
When arriving, our room was not fully cleaned or restocked properly. Soaps were half empty, toilet paper and tissues had no extra, nothing had been dusted, didn’t seem to be vacuumed, showers had nasty mold along the edges and corners so clearly had not been cleaned. Half way through the week when they came in to clean, all they did was change one bed sheets and leave, that’s ridiculous.
There needs to be more guys to valet cars and help get things to/from your room, it was always a long wait for the car.
It was very clear the pools were not properly maintained and chemicals were just poured in with no monitoring how much really should be put in. Due to the lack of proper monitoring with the pool chemicals my son that’s not even 2 years old got chlorine burn and it’s so sad he couldn’t continue going in the pool all week long since he loves the water.
Overall I’m very disappointed with this location!

Upon arrival to room 704 on 1/15/2021, every step we took our feet audibly stuck to the ceramic tile floor. I immediately called the front desk to request they mop the floor, but as I picked up the phone I found a gold hoop earring lying on the countertop beside the phone. It wasn’t mine! When they sent “maintenance/housekeeping” up to mop it, he picked the earring up and put it in his pocket. I had to show him the sticky dark spots on the floor in front of the dishwasher, but after he wet the floor with just a damp dust mop, the cereal and other spots remained along with dried splattered tomato sauce of some sort in front of the stove. There was a giant hairball in the smallest bedroom floor, a price tag from girls’ leggings was found in the other bedroom floor, and a contact lens (no photo) was in the master bathroom floor beside the trash can. There were visible streaks on the refrigerator door and filth on the tracks where the washer/dryer were. I wanted to complain but my husband didn’t have time for us to change rooms. The blue sticker on the door indicated the room was clean upon our arrival. As you can see, it was not clean, nor had it been in quite some time. For this property to have such a beautiful appearance on the outside, saying we were disappointed is a vast understatement. Do better! Just to be clear, we were there to play softball so we spent very little time in the room. It was unacceptable and your standards should be higher!!!! The beds were comfortable and the balcony was nice.

I might suggest that you get at least one Teflon pan for cooking on the stove. The one there is difficult to clean if you are cooking a lot. Some of the lights were not plugged into the correct socket that worked with the wall switch. These are minor. We loved the facilities. Great work out room and very nice indoor heated pool

I have to agree that the oceanfront room view was incredible. The hotel itself seemed like it was in a decent part of town but after staying there a while some things made themselves apparent that made me decide not to come back.

First off, the parking situation is terrible. I don’t mind a walk to get to the car but parking isn’t even on the premises. It’s two blocks west of the hotel, which is one block shy of a skeevy stretch of US 17. My wife went to get coffee at the Starbucks about three blocks away and was accosted by every creep within that span.

The hotel itself is fine and yes I will also agree with the dated decor. They don’t have any baggage carts you can use yourself, you have to wait on one of a couple of bell hops to bring your stuff up with you. I don’t need an escort in the hotel (outside is a different story), I need a way to get my bags up to the room, with minimal waiting.

You can have one of the handful of staff valet park your car but that’s $20 a day. In hindsight had I known we were staying amongst so many local creeps and transient deviants on their vacation, I would have used that.

No smoking in the rooms or balconies unless apparently, it’s weed. I don’t even have a cigar in my house or car but I would have liked to had a cigar and a drink on the balcony but that was against hotel policy. Evidently, if you wanna toke up like Cheech and Chong nothing said, because it happened often.

Unlike some reviews here that didn’t have a clean room at check in, ours was at least clean upon our arrival. The hotel cleaning service is stated to occur every third day of your stay but that didn’t happen and with a large family, we did their jobs for them and as far as I’m concerned, should have had a little knocked of the bill. Speaking of bill, I guess the receipt you get when you book is all you get. I asked about a receipt being emailed to me and was told I’d get one, two weeks later I’ve never received it.

The front desk was anything but helpful or welcoming. I’m not there to make lifelong friends or conversation but Jesus! It’s the hospitality industry, fake it! I felt bad for putting them out and checking in. I got the misfortune of dealing with the same cold fish with each interaction. The others “appeared” to be busy to avoid any interaction, no eye contact from any of the them. But to be fair, I did receive an impersonal text, inquiring about my stay.

I think I was able to use the shower coming from the beach once. While cleaning in your room might not occur even every third day, they do allow some underworked, teenager or twenty something to hose down the shower area often and for inordinate amounts of time. It’s a shower to wash sand of from the beach! It’s gonna get a bit sandy! Get outta the way and let guests use it. I’m sure they had a lot of sand to vacuum up in the room after we left, assuming they did in fact clean it.

We arrived on Memorial Day, May 30, and stayed for 4 nights. There was an add'l discount for staying 3 nights, then another discount for the 4th night. I found the rate to be very reasonable. Best I can remember, it averaged around $143/night. Our 1BR condo was spacious and in good condition. I'm not familiar with "kingdom" week, so can't comment.
