Please don’t judge this hotel by the older reviews. Recently remodeled and very tastefully done. The accommodations and staff were “Top Shelf”. It’s located in one of the best areas in an upscale residential neighborhoods with a pristine, uncrowded beach.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is small enough to be personal and big enough to satisfy your needs. Directly across from the ocean our room had a nice view from the balcony. The pool was also directly below our room. Due to covid they did not come and clean our room during our stay which was fine due to the circumstances.

Our experience was a three day, two night get away from Tuesday to Thursday. Our room, 5th floor facing the Atlantic, was wonderful. Very clean & well appointed. Giant screen TV, comfy love seat, king size bed (a little soft for my liking, but I did sleep like a baby!) Great walk-in shower with a wonderful rain shower head. The staff was very friendly & courteous. The hotel is situated among private residences, so it was very quiet. If you’re into touristy stuff, the Boardwalk is only a couple miles down the beach. If it’s beach & ocean you want, it’s right across the street. It was a pleasurable & relaxing stay.

We were looking for a last minute hotel that was close by to a friend, that wouldn’t break the bank and didn’t look like a dive... we lucked upon this gem. We had an oceanfront room with a balcony and woke up to an unobstructed view of the ocean (which is hard to come by these days because of the huge monstrosities they build to block any views these days). Every employee we encountered was friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The only negative which isn’t really a negative because I’m sure if we had asked they would have accommodated, but we had two towels, two hand towels, two washcloths in the room. They didn’t not leave extras and they were not exchanged for new ones (we stayed tues-thur). But seriously that was the only “con” so to speak which I’m sure would’ve been easily remedied if we had mentioned it. So if you need a hotel with a good view in the quiet part of MB, look no further.

There was quite some confusion over me extending my stay. There is a new employee named Paul who is in training, and had some problems with accountability and owning up to the mistakes that he had made. I asked him if he had my card on file and could extend my stay without me coming down, he said yes. 3:30 rolls around, and housekeeping is banging on my door and opening the door while I'm in the room trying to take a nap. My door was opened twice, when it shouldn't have been. Housekeeping made a comment and said that they did not want to have to call the police, which by the way women of color should never threaten to call the police on other women of color. Not in this racial climate. After five different people from housekeeping knocking on my door, they told me that the employee that was at the front desk, who made the mistake, was acting like he had no clue what was going on. Basically, he had checked me out when I had already extended my stay, he didn't do his job properly, he should've had me come down and extend my stay, but was not trained to know to do so. So when I went downstairs, it took an additional 30 minutes plus them calling another manager who was there to fix what this particular employee had done. He had no remorse, he had no idea of customer service, he thought that he was free from any type of blame or fault. I had to ask for an apology, I don't take the cops being called as a light threat and another reviewer (from a few days or weeks ago) mentioned the same thing about potential diversity training and sensitivity because the cops were called on her. This wasn't the first time that something like this happened here. They offered me 20% off of my next two nights which equaled about $70. I'm not satisfied with that resolution. I asked to speak to get to the general manager, he had me wait for 13 minutes, knowing that I was out there and when I did get to speak to him I didn't really get to get any words out, he was very abrasive. He told me that while they did not have to take accountability for what happened, they did.... he expected credit for that. He told me that he was handling the situation and expected that to be that, I could tell he expected me to leave it alone. I could tell he didn't want to be having the conversation, I expected humility and I expected remorse. What I got was rudeness, shortness and slight attitude. For someone that spent the amount of money I have here, I am disgusted. The room itself wasn't all that clean. The white bedspread had two stains on it when I first walked in the door. Someone else's toenails were on the floor of the efficiency kitchen area. They were not mine, mine are manicured. The washcloths were pretty badly stained, the sheets were worn. There's rust on the lamp and the duct tape around the air conditioning unit does not look like $159 a night room. The floors/carpeting in the stairways definitely needs to be replaced because it's emitting an odor. I only know this because I'm OCD and I wipe things down compulsively, but there was dust and food up under the microwave. I didn't see anything for me to wash dishes with so I had to leave them in the sink. I think the room was cleaner when I left than when I got there. I lysoled, I bleached, I disinfected the mattress down. To be honest, in addition to the 20% off that they gave me, I want and think I deserve more of a refund. The manager was very sweet, but she initially only offered me 10% and when I told her that that was not enough she went up to 20% but she tried to lowball me. I don't appreciate it because it shows me that none of the employees took the disrespect that I felt seriously. I also was apparently placed on a do not rent list for "cussing out the front desk". So I cussed the front desk out so bad they never wanna rent to me again but; they'll take my money? They also called the cops. I was in the parking lot looking for somewhere else to book.

Thank you for your feedback and I can honestly say the entirety of the situation is not what you described and we've already established this with corporate! The only abusive person in this situation was you, we apologized and offered you compensation. Matter of fact, you ended up extending your stay twice with us, and any person that was not satisfied with the accommodation or service would have left after the incident you described, but you chose to extend. Even after we put you on a "Do Not Rent" list you decided to come back and tried to check in!
