Ok people, this is an old hotel that could use some updates. That said, my family had a horrible experience at the Mermaid Inn and ended up leaving. You can see my review of that. On Thanksgiving Day with two dogs we called the Sea Gypsy. We just needed a room for the night and a place for the dogs... More

We stayed at the Sea Gypsy over the summer, and I had a great time there. Because I knew what to expect going in. As long as you can do that, you can have a fine stay here. Do a single search for the Sea Gypsy on any site and you'll see what you're getting into- an out of date... More

I made reservations here already expecting a non-fancy, dingy, and out-of date motel, so that did not come as a shock to me when it was everything I thought it would be. However, for only $40 a night, our room was directly on the ocean. The kitchen was not stocked with dishes or utensils so if you plan to cook,... More

Horrible hotel we ending up leaving couldn't take it anymore. The parking sucks there you have to park a block away. The rooms and the hotel is so outdated. The staff was extremely rude. You definally get what you pay for if your thinking its a little dirty. It's beyond dirty. Worst hotel experience we ever had. It's a wonder... More

Was leery of this motel when a family member told me the price they'd paid for our reservation. But what we found upon arriving far surpassed my negative expectations. I think the only positive thing I can say is that the motel is beachfront. It's very obviously an old motel, and both its age and lack of maintenance shows. The... More

I don't wish to be mean, but in all honesty the Sea Gypsy Inn is a little rough guys. I stayed in the larger suit on the 4th floor and I noted: Cigarette burns in furniture and even bed linens. Ripped and torn floor tiles. Ripped and torn carpeting. Furniture which was falling apart. Various repairs which were clearly not... More

No internet unless you outside, I understand it's because of the cinder block walls outside and inside the rooms. No closet and bar hanging on wall was falling off the wall. Had to get burned out bulbs changed. No handicap bars in shower. One way in handicap lot fits 4 vehicles and you have to back out into the street... More

Dirty, outdated room, with unpleasant front desk help. Couldn't get any assistance when calling in advance. I made the mistake of pre-paying and couldn't get a refund, but I stayed at another hotel instead. Highly advise staying away from this dump!
