Pros: * Good amount of pools * Easy access to beach * Rooms nice * Affordable Cons: * Dirty. Room still had crumbs on counters, not clean around baseboards. * Failed to respond to requests to clean floors. * Computer systems consistently down making buy food from the restaurant or gift shop items difficult. * Parking deck kinda sucks, very slow to go up/down, better to park across the street. * Couldn't get them to give us more toilet paper or paper towels, bought our own. Neutral: * Lots of people shooting fireworks on the beach at night which could be a pro or con depending on if you have kids that sleep early.

Our room was absolutely filthy upon checking in. There was visible dust/dirt on the floors. I found spots of blood on the shower wall and bathroom door. Other smeared filth on the main bath door. Thank goodness I brought a bottle of spray bleach and Lysol wipes. Our linens weren’t fully stocked at check in and it was an act of Congress to get some brought up. The suites are basically attached to the parking garage, so lots of noise late into the night with that. The kitchen counter, toaster, and coffee maker all visibly dirty. No housekeeping during the stay other than to empty trash and change out towels. I would think that cleaning practices would be enhanced (especially for check in/new guests). This room hadn’t been thoroughly swept or mopped in weeks. Never again.

My boyfriend and I checked in at 2:00. We went to the beach and came back around 4. Within 2 hours, our room had been given to someone else and all of our valuables, money, clothes had been open to another family without our knowledge. The hotel gave my boyfriend and I's room to another family. The hotel did not even tell us about this mistake, I had to find out from the family we (thank god) ran into as this was happening. We talked to management the first time this happened and they said as long as nothing was stolen, there was nothing they could do. We let it go. The next day we went to the beach and came back to our door being open. The metal door safety lock was keeping the door open. This was the second time our privacy, money, valuables, and everything we had in the room was being messed with. This time management was nicer and at-least gave us a $100 refund. Even though $100 refund was not enough for the stress and horrible privacy errors that we went through. My mom tried calling to get more information on what was happening and the hotel said they would call her back and they never did. They didn't even care that our room and valuables were wide open twice. Do not stay here if you like privacy and your stuff not being open to the whole hotel. Ridiculous. Especially with covid going on, No one wants their stuff being touched and open to others. Absolutely Ridiculous. Grand Cayman Resort, do better. People's privacy and their belongings are IMPORTANT and need to be locked up and not messed with when they leave their rooms. RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! Oh one more thing, if you mess up next time, at LEAST tell the people you have their room key to another family and not hide the mistake!!!!

Check in was at 4, I went down around 3 to see if my room was ready. It wasn't they gave me my parking pass and pool wrist bands and said they'd give me a call when it was ready. How are we supposed to use the pool if we don't have a room to change in? I expected a phone call around 4, it didn't come until almost 6. When there is a check in time I expect my room to be ready for me to use at that check in time. But wait there's more. We go to get in bed that night around 11 pm and the blanket feels damp and smells like urine. So how are we supposed to know that any of the linen in the entire room has been changed yet. So I call the front desk and they inform me that there are only 3 employees on site at night and none of them are house keeping staff and that there is no way they can get into the linen room to get us a new blanket. It took an hour of calling back and forth to the front desk before we even got proper sheets for just our bed. And they brought up those fuzzy blankets you usually keep in a closet for that friend to use who crashes on your couch. Not the type of service we expected and paid for at this resort. I called the front desk that morning trying to talk to a manager to get at least that night of my stay taken off my bill. I was told there aren't any managers there until 3pm but they for sure could get that night taken off my bill. 3pm comes around so I call again to talk to a manager. I had to basically argue and explain why getting into a bed that was wet with urine was unacceptable and deserved a refund for that night. I took all the linen off all 3 beds in the room and they never replaced it on one of the beds even after I called and told them I needed it. I also asked the cleaning staff to change my trash after I left the room for the day and they didn't. At any given time one of the elevators weren't working. The pools smelled like there was no water in them only chlorine. We had friends staying there also, we got the oceanfront suite and they got the partial ocean view. We had the exact same view so it was totally a waste of money to try getting a room with a better view. Overall staying at this hotel was a terrible experience. The owner should be ashamed of the way their employees are running it.

In all my years of traveling, this is unfortunately the worst review I have ever written. Regardless of having a renovated room, it still was lacking the essentials. Not at all covid clean. Hot water would have been great. Finally after 2 days of trying to get fixed they switched our room. Entire hotel was dirty. Trash and cigarettes on ground entire time we were there. They are lacking staff for normal upkeep. Getting clean towels was difficult and toilet paper was a luxury item staying here. Night crew at front desk was horrible. They were rude and had no idea what customer service was. Night Manager was good and really tried her best. Food was ok for breakfast. Pool area was ok. Nothing here was anything to highlight. Good luck.
