I will start by saying that I have heard horror stories about the disrepair of hotels in Myrtle Beach, especially in the off-season. It's obvious that the people who told me that never stayed at the Sheraton in Myrtle Beach. The staff was friendly and helpful, from the front desk giving me an early check-in, to housekeeping who did a superb job with the cleanliness of my room. Housekeeping noticed that I was not drinking the caffeinated coffee and left me extra packets of decaf, that's real service. Susan at the bar could not have been nicer, she is a real gem.
Not super fancy, but centrally located, clean and great views. We're titanium elite so we get upgraded to the corner King rooms and they're great. The hotel is close to the water and Broadway on the Beach and is cheaper than staying right on the water.
We got discounted rate for 99$ 3 nights, but had to sit through 90 mins presentation of their timeshare. We wanted to cancel however they would charge extra $400+, when usually we book for 95-115$ every year. So we went with presentation, it lasted 2.5h and would last longer, if we would not just walk away, the sales personnel doesn’t not understand - no, we are not ready to sign 17k timeshare on a spot” they kept sending managers. We were really polite - asked for the brochure to study the offer, but they wanted us to sign at 14.99% interest right there. I am disappointed with this experience being Marriott Bonvoy member. If the brand has high standards, should train the sales team to be respectful.
All around great hotel! Friendly staff, clean comfortable room and great location! Easy access to many local attractions and night life! Restaurants were beautiful and a large menu gave us many great choices!
Upon entering the hotel there was a huge dumpster to the right with stained filthy mattresses and drywall. That was our first impression of the place. Our room was a king “ upgraded” ocean view and was anything but that. The room had not been well maintained with mold around the shower, soap scum build up on the tub, food and marks on the wall. In addition there were patched spots on wall that had not been finished repairing, wallpaper peeling and part of the ceiling above the shower cracked. This hotel is pulling in major revenue attached to the convention center and with the ability to rent out number plus ball rooms and meeting spaces; there is no reason why the hotel upkeep should be this poor.
This hotel is amazing! It was so beautiful and the bedrooms have great views and the bathrooms are beautiful. The staff is so kind and the people who stay are so friendly. It’s a wonderful environment! Food is also very great! This hotel never disappoints!!!
Passing through, we stayed one night. Looking for a hotel, Sheraton advertised it was 2 blocks to the boardwalk. Maybe that was a misprint, 'cause it's 2 blocks to the beach, NOT the boardwalk. The boardwalk is not within walking distance unless you're ambitious. The hotel is well maintained and clean, no creepy crawlers anywhere which can be difficult around water. We were on the 12th floor which gave us a spectacular view of....inland. Room keys are required to use the elevators giving an added level of safety for the guests. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, there were blackout curtains, a 'fridge, a safe. a retractable clothesline in the shower for wet bathing suits. Water pressure was great with plenty of hot water and adjustable water flow on the shower head. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. A fee ($8/day) is charged to park in the garage.…
We come to Myrtle Beach most years for a golf tournament. Staying here with the hotel attached to the convention center was SO convenient. The gym was small-ish, but with plenty & a variety of machine options. Every bathroom area was clean & we had daily maid service to straighten up. Ice cream shop in love, Very good coffee shop & nice restaurant.
A lot of Sheratons are kinda iffy so we were surprised at how nice this hotel was. Its not the Montage but for Myrtle Beach super nice. We had a corner suite with a large balcony and view to the ocean (titanium elite) for free! Rooms have everything you need. Parking is covered and free. Location is about a half mile from the beach. We were very happy with the choice.
I would give this hotel a 3.5 rating. It had some pros and cons. I’ll start with the pros. Super convenient parking and access to the convention center. We were there for a dance competition. The front desk, concierge, housekeeping staff, and bartender were wonderful. The hotel was very clean. Food was good too. The ocean view from the 9th floor was very nice. They even had a microwave near the ice machine. The cons were: the rooms need some major updating. The hotel is showing its age. There was no charging station near the beds. It is a long walk to the beach with all your gear. We also had a lousy waitress in Visalia’s restaurant.
