The rooms were warm and smelled moldy. The elevators are old and hot. They haven’t painted since the 80s. The parking garage is tight and despicable. I wish I had listen when I read the other negative reviews. The staff doesn’t care about anything. Ran out of wash cloths and towels. They had to send maintenance to clean our tub which from below as you can see no one came. I feel like the should pay us for staying there at this point. The furniture is old and very outdated. The couch need new padding. The remote controls don’t have backs. They don’t have a guide. I feel horrible for booking this place for my family. The lifeguard at the pool just stared at her cell phone and had no lifeguard outfit on. Please see how unkept this place is in the photos below. I would never stay here again and I urge everyone reading to spend $50 to $100 more to be comfortable. Also I found hair inside one of the blankets folded in the closet. It is still Covid 19 times and this place is unsanitary.

We are actually in our room as I write this review. Our room has so many problems! We normally stay here every year but this year is terrible!! Our shower won't drain because it has a huge ridge down the center, shower head doesn't function properly, our ac doesn't cool but makes a really loud noise ( I can't sleep because it's so loud) our tv won't turn off unless you unplug it. I have always bragged about how great this place is but will never come back now. We complained about our room but they will not move us. The sign out front says vacancy but we paid for a ocean view room not ocean front and apparently they only have ocean front left. I also don't feel like it's as clean as it normally is. Luckily we are only here 4 nights. Location is great that's about all I can say.

Do NOT recommend at all. There is a reason this place is so cheap. The service is terrible, they never answer the front desk phone. The accommodations are old, dingy and outdated. Trash is everywhere. The parking deck is difficult to get in and out of. The food is horrible but the worst part was they put us on the 11th floor with the “rooftop”pool right outside our door. Music blared and unattended teens screamed until after 11 pm every night. The hotel did nothing about it and we didn’t sleep. Spend the extra money to get a real hotel not this run down place!

It’s true there were gorgeous views from our penthouse balcony - but unfortunately the experience was destroyed by the never ending pot and cigarette smells and general filth of the place. The halls smell like urine, the elevators are never clean and run down, and there was rampant rotten garbage lying around. The kids amenities and pool area were really fun for my child, but even the lazy river floaty equipment is covered in mold and mildew. I tried my damndest to look on the bright side but couldn’t didn’t enjoy my time on the pool deck as I needed to dodge soggy old food, gooey door handles, nondescript sliminess and even cockroaches. The parking deck was cramped and difficult to navigate, and also was full of garbage (and bottles of urine). Our private condo was nicer than most I’ve seen here from the reviews, but we couldn’t escape the gross, neglected vibe of the building.

If you have any interest at all in receiving WIFI service in your room, please request a room on a floor very close to the lobby, or even better, a sleeping bag for the lobby. The further you get from the lobby, the more your chances diminish. We made the brutal mistake of accepting a room on the 12th floor, which we soon found out was miles away from any chance at service. We did, barely, pick up service from the motel next door for one afternoon! We were there for 5 nights and began complaining the very first night. We complained and complained and complained to anyone and everyone morning and night. And guess what....we checked out 5 days later and still, not a whiff of WIFI. Good job Monterey Bay.
