My husband and i started our vacay at a resort and it was Horrible!! The next day we showed up to South Bay and met Jantzen at the front desk. She showed us so much patience during all of our questions. She showed us compassion for the bad experience we had at the other place. She gave us all the options they had to offer, she personally showed us a room so we could see what we were booking. The view was a deal breaker for me. Btw the view is AMAZING! She gave us a comped breakfast to help restart our vacay. She became my favorite person in South Carolina! The hotel is bright and pretty. It has great amenities especially for families. I was very comfortable there. I would go back to South Bay definitely.

Jantzen at the front desk was fantastic. She helped turn our vacation around for the better. We had a bad experience with a resort down the road and decided to switch after 1 night. We found South Bay and really liked the look of the hotel. Jantzen displayed great empathy for our situation and patiently answered all of our questions. She went above and beyond in ensuring our vacation was not going to be a complete failure. Also Shonta and Dee at the hotel lobby restaurant “Captain B’s” were very professional in providing excellent service each morning.

Douglas is the best bartender! He makes amazing drinks, recommendations, and is great to talk to (especially about real estate). I highly recommend Captain B’s Restaurant and Lounge— it won’t disappoint!

We were very happy with South Bay Inn & Suites. This a beautifully appointed hotel, only 3 years old. Sleek modern decor. Great amenities, lacking nothing. Very family friendly, especially with the water park. The grounds are meticulously maintained. We loved our king suite oceanfront room, the bed was extremely comfortable. Nice large bathroom, full kitchen, large living area and 2 TV’s. The food was very very good! We had great experiences with the staff, especially Shonta and A.J. at the coffee/breakfast bar. Super friendly and very accommodating!

First ever trip to Myrtle Beach! Location: On the beach! It was a one minute walk to the sand. Close to the boardwalk. Walked to several restaurants and attractions, along with the beach. Room: Room was large, clean (mostly) and had a nice view. Lots of storage space. Kitchenette (Fridge, sink, burners, dishes, pots and pans). Coffee Pot (though my wife votes it the worst one she ever used). Awesome balcony with heavy door (never worried about our child getting it open) that locks. downsides to the room? Hard mattresses. The pullout sofa mattress was so poor, my son opted to just sleep on the couch. Weird step up into the tub/shower. Shower curtain rod was loose (in 2 rooms!) causing the curtain to just fall to the middle and never be closed. Pool Area: Very nice. slides for the kids, little kid water play area, lazy river, decent pool, 3 hot tubs. Pool heated! Food/Bar: pricy but good. We ate at Captain B's several times or picked it up to eat in room. Valet Parking was great. Those guys knew what they were doing and took care of us all week. Well worth the $15/day, since the parking garage was a good walk from the hotel. Overall: We'd stay here again. Sad the pool bar was already closed, but it was October.
