Liked this place a lot, we had some troubles with our Trailer and Margaret and Bill were very helpfull in helping us try and get it fixed and putting up with our unsure stay length. (we didnt get it fixed, will wait till home) So I must say I cannot say enough about the employees, bath houses very clean, beautifull...

Setting: This campground is positioned right on a lovely lake surrounded by palmetto trees. There isn't much city traffic visible and it is tucked away nicely. Employees/People: The employees at Mount Pleasant KOA were very nice and very helpful. They were southern so their service was slow, but they also had southern hospitality which was awesome. Our neighbors at the...

The campground facilities are fine from what I saw. The poor rating is for the exorbitant price scale KOA campgrounds have for tent campers without a car or RV. I came in late on a bicycle. I am a 66 year old man bicycling the perimeter of the United States raising funds for Habitat For Humanity and Save The Children,...

We only live a couple hours away but come to Charleston often. We usually stay at one of the county park campgrounds, which are wonderful, but they were all booked for the Labor Day weekend. I'm glad they were, as it allowed us to find and stay at this equally great campground. The campground is neat and clean, easy to...

We came here for a quick weekend getaway (we only live 2.5 hrs away). We loved it! We really enjoyed the quiet, shady environment and the kids readily used the lake for fishing. It was to cool for the pool but did see that it was clean. There is a trolley you can ride for a fee into Charleston, which...

We stayed at Site 5 and had no problem getting our 35 foot Travel Trailer in there. The Bath Houses were clean and 1 night one of my sons came back freezing noting 0 hot water. Saturday night was better he said. The pool is very clean and the Ping Pong table was great! The atmosphere here is very down...

The place was clean, but it had no atmosphere. It claims to be on a Plantation and you can take tours. But the Plantation is somewhere 'on the other side of the lake' and they only will take you there on weekends, and it costs. That's a big bunch of false advertising, since that was the reason we went to...

This was a wonderful stay for our family. Easy drive to history attractions that brought us to the area with a beautiful and relaxing place to come home. I don't think we have stayed at a cleaner, more well kept place. Thank you! We will be back!

Choose James island county park. If you are 70 and want quiet time to start at 7, no pets and want to go to sleep at 8 this is for you. Otherwise, its overpriced and a waste of a trip. Used to be a great place till new management took over.
