Beautiful property, kind owners, great wine and sweet animals. We celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful time. We definitely will be back. So much to do and see in the area, we couldn’t get enough of the vistas, mountain towns, wineries and live music at the Inn. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

This was our second trip to RHI to celebrate an anniversary. Second trip was every bit as enjoyable and relaxing as the first. We experienced one of the most beautiful sunsets ever on this latest trip. Don't miss the alpaca "field trip"! We'll definitely go back.

We spent a very quite and romantic weekend here. After leaving the big city it was wonderful to relax in luxury and slow down the pace. Chris was the perfect host and the music and wine on the patio were the perfect ending for a fantastic weekend. I highly recommend the Red Horse Inn for a quiet relaxing getaway in the mountains.

The Red Horse Inn is a magical place. My husband and I went there for my birthday weekend. Christian and Alison the owners are the most gracious hosts. I found a note from them wish me a wonderful birthday and rose petals on the king size bed. The inn itself is amazingly nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The terrace provides a peaceful panorama of the mountains. Our room was beautiful, spacious and well appointed. The “kitchen” closet contained all the fixings of a tasty continental breakfast. It was a wonderful weekend. We’re hoping to go back in the fall or winter to see snow and enjoy the fireplace. We highly recommend The Red Horse Inn.

Clean cottage with great views. However, at 700 dollar price point I would expect a much better experience. 350 would be fine. 700 I expect a warm breakfast, extra amenities. I just found the experience as stiff. Bedroom small (queen bed). Breakfast limited strawberry muffin yogurt. Nothing fancy about the cottage. Want to listen to live music with a glass of wine at the Inn.....everyone was uncomfortably hot sitting in the sun. Check in check out was easy, after reading pages of rules and information. Don't take the coffee cup. Don't park here, don't do this don't do that. There was no other services. There are plenty of other options for half the price and twice the elegance.

This is a beautiful property. The music and wine on the terrace while viewing the sunset was a wonderful added touch to an already relaxing, romantic weekend. The room was very romantic and decorated beautifully! I highly recommend to any couple wanting a quiet relaxing getaway in a breathtaking location!

The Red Horse Inn's property is absolutely gorgeous and we enjoyed our weekend stay there. It was an expensive weekend and the lack of a daily housekeeper and substandard breakfast took away from the visit. We are glad we stayed here for our 10th anniversary, but this is a place I would only go to every ten years and it will not be in our regular rotation. Also, though it did not affect our visit there, the email communications with the owners leave a lot to be desired. Instead of them making you feel like a welcomed guest, their messaging came across as "you are a paying guest and nothing more, so don't you forget it, and you will be charged for every single little thing."

Response from Christian Wolters, Owner at The Red Horse Inn
Responded Jun 8, 2022
Golly, sorry that you never received my emails! I didn't know! I normally receive feedback that I send too many emails about the property, area, and other details on how to have a great stay in our cute little area. Terrible sorry that you received one that made you feel the way you do. That's definitely not what I've set up nor what 99% of what people experience. My sense of humor sometimes comes off dry until you meet me, and then you see that I'm...just full of silliness and dad jokes. Sorry that you didn't enjoy your time here, but best wishes on your future adventures!

The presentation on line is accurate; the pictures represent what you will see when you arrive. A very clean cottage on arrival with the amenities to make a stay relaxing and welcoming. For me the ultimate complement is would I book this again and would I tell others about it. The answer is yes to both. We needed a place for privacy and "down" time. This was it! Far enough away yet only a few minutes drive to some great food and sights.

What a magnificent and stunning INN. Breath taking in the foothills of thr Blue Ridge. My wife loved it. Visited for our anniversary. She said one of thr best places we've visited together thus far. We stayed in the Carriage Bay cottage with an excellent view of the mountains. Can't wait to visit again. Wine and live music was perfect during sunset
