There are two cottages furnished with antiques and oriental rugs. Each cottage contains a bedroom with queen sized bed, livingroom, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, bathroom with whirlpool tub. Laurel has a double hide-a-bed for that extra person. Dogs are always welcome at no extra charge. We provide dog bowls, beds and biscuits. The guests are in the middle of the farm and will hopefully experience the same joy that we do living on a horse farm and watching the beautiful sunsets.

My review is filled with nothing but praise. I found Barking Fox Farm by accident while googling farms close to my son’s home. I stayed for three nights. The grounds and guest house was immaculate. The barn with the horses is also immaculate. The grounds are pristine. Having animals of our own, I appreciate all the work that goes into keeping the grounds and houses looking as beautiful and tidy as they do. Her care for the animals was also commendable and I believe a testament to how she treats everyone. Barbara could not have been more hospitable. My ride got lost getting to the farm and she drove me all over trying to connect with them. This will be my go to place in the future when visiting my family.

Beautiful grounds, quiet and peaceful. We watched deer from kitchen window and saw a bear when returning from Tryon. Barbara met us with blueberry bread, fresh eggs from her chickens and a bottle of wine. Our city dog saw her first horses, cows and chickens absolutely amazed!

My wife and I spent three nights here for our anniversary and the only complaint that I have is that we didn't have longer. The owner is very courteous and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. When you get to the cottage you'll find a bottle of wine, delicious muffins, milk, and eggs from her own farm. The horses and highland cattle come up to be fed in the evenings, or maybe they just like having their picture taken 🤣 You'll have many chances to see the deer also. I couldn't recommend this place enough and look forward to coming back!

Beautiful and peaceful property. The owner, Barbara, was very kind. She welcomed us with blueberry bread and fresh eggs and a bottle of wine. However, our unit (butterfly cottage) was dusty, floors were dirty, and the towels did not smell clean and fresh. The unit can use a deep cleaning.

I am sorry that you felt the way you did about the cleanliness of the cottage. Hopefully you got us confused with another stop on your trip from Seattle as we do not have a Butterfly Cottage. Our maid dusts before every guest, the floors are mopped with with a disinfectant cleaner and the towels and sheets are washed with Tide Sports laundry detergent. I personally inspect each cottage before a guest's arrival. When I gave you a gift upon departure you raved about what a great stay you had. If you were unhappy with anything about the condition of your cottage I wish you would have shared that with us upon your arrival. We would have had our maid come right back to address your concerns. It is sad for us when the first time we hear a negative comment is in a review!.

The views of the farm are magnificent. We stayed for a week this time and wish we could live somewhere like this all the time.
Chickens, Scottish Highland Cattle and horses are joined by deer and turkey daily.
Our dog had a great time.
Comfortable beds. Plenty of nice pillows. The hosts are very gracious and they provide a nice breakfast. The cottage is very clean.
The restaurants in Landrum are just minutes away and offer a wide variety of choices.

Stayed in one of the cottages which was very peaceful and close proximity to Tryon and downtown Landrum. .Overall the cottage was very comfortable with a down home country feel. Our boxer loved the horses but scared of the cows. 😂 The porch was a nice relaxing bonus for enjoying our morning coffee. The owners, Barbara and her son Billy, were down to earth and very welcoming. We really enjoyed getting to know them and looking forward to stay again.

My Husband and I spent a most relaxing and ejoyable weekend at Barking Fox Farm.
Beautiful antiques, spotlessly clean, even their barn was spotless. Great value. Hosts couldn't have been nicer. We loved sitting out on the deck and watching the ten horses graze in the evening. We also saw a fox run across the pasture. Highly recommend to anyone that wants quiet relaxation. We plan to return in October to see the leaves.

My husband and I stayed here when I was competing at an equestrian event at FENCE. The guest house is about 5 minutes from the equestrian facility, so it was easy for us to manage me needing to be at the barns EARLY and my husband could relax at the house until it was time for my class. He also appreciated the satellite TV since it was football season :). It was convenient to have the full kitchen for meals and leftover storage, and our dog was very comfortable there. When we made our reservation, Barbara even asked us what size our dog was and had bowls and a bed waiting for her when we checked in. It was a great stay and I always recommend the Barking Fox to friends who will be competing at FENCE.

I stayed for 3 nights in the Ladybug cottage. Everything in the cottage was in good condition and of high quality. Outside it was such a dark, clear sky that one could see millions of stars. In the mornings there was a mist over the pastures and the view of the horses in the distance and close up was enchanting. The location was close to my friend's farm and near Landrum. Barbara was a gracious hostess upon my arrival, then gave me my privacy the rest of my stay.

Barbara welcomed us from the first moment we walked on the farm. She made us feel like family and helped us navigate the local area in a way we couldn't have done without her expertise. The Lady Bug Room had a peaceful, pastoral view of the horse pasture and adjacent mountain. The accommodations were quiet and comfortable.
