This place is so cute!! Friendly staff! Great bar drinks and a gorgeous common area to enjoy them in! Small bites bar menu was perfect. Great included breakfast as well. The room was clean and cozy. Mini fridge and microwave included. Check in and check out were easy breezy. Wonderful location for quick walk to many shops and about 7 different restaurants in the Fresh Fields Village, as well as a 30 minute drive into Charleston. Absolutely no complaints! Fantastic hotel!

The property is tucked away in a quaint area that has just enough to do if you are looking for a simple (if you choose) outdoor themed getaway. It is close enough to a variety of restaraunts and other local shops, groceries, and outdoor activites. The hotel's decorum in the lobby is unique and reminded me of an art gallery. It is tastefully done but makes and is a great way to view the artwork of the featured artist. With COVID restrictions, most Marriott hotels that we have encountered in the last few months offer a grab and go breakfast that is pre-packaged and boring. The staff at the Andell Inn found a way to offer a selection of breakfast items in a COVID-friendly fashion. Who gives you fresh pancakes these days at a hotel breakfast bar? The breakfast selection was good but it was the professional and good attitude of the staff that made the breakfast experience even better. I give the 2 young men staffing the breakfast area, the highest rating for making sure the area was clean, the food was freshly stocked, and the beverages were as well. (I forgot their names but remember that they were from Jamaica.) They performed in their role as if they were in a more upscale eating establishment. They were concerned not just providing food but seemed to be aware of the condition of it and the way it was displayed, and then some. These men represented themselves and the company in an excellent way. Just a few steps outside the Andell Inn is the retail area which offered nostalgia. There was a drug store with a soda fountain, there was also an ice cream shop. The gas station has old-style pumps as decor in front of the building. The village square was decorated at Christmas and offered an outdoor movie one night during our stay. There are bike paths around the island that will give you a chance to experience nature while exploring the area. Walking along the beach is possible since you are within a few miles of it. From the board walk, just a few doors down from Andell Inn we saw dolphins. It was a great experience at the Andell Inn and being on the island. I am not a golfer but appreciate that this area gives you that as well. I am glad we chose it during our stay in the Charleston area.

I checked into this place I didn’t even know it was back there. The front desk clerk was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I stayed on the first floor I had a couple drinks in the bar they were excellent. The only problem was my my bed my mattress was hard as a rock and I thought it could’ve been much more softer but other than that everything was outstanding and I’ll definitely be back.

I stayed here for a week last month while I was doing a home move. I was stressed about having to travel during COVID and once I arrived at the hotel I felt a while lot better! They are taking all safety precautions, and the front desk staff was lovely to interact with. I asked for a room on the 3rd floor and my request was accommodated. The hotel was clean, quiet and very comfortable. All in all a GREAT stay.

I stayed here in October. The hotel is nice but lacks any sort of a restaurant. They serve an OK buffet breakfast, but no lunch, dinner or room service meals that I could determine. There are decent restaurants in Freshfields Village which is a short walk. The place was empty due to Covid which I knew because I had a view of the parking lot with about 12 cars in it. I would think that with an empty place that I might get a room on the lovely pond/pool side but I guess I didn’t pay enough.. But speaking of that, I made my reservation through Southwest Vacations, the subsidiary of Southwest Air. After booking a flight I took them up on finding me a place to stay. Shame on me this is the second time I’ve done that and both times I think I got completely hosed on the hotel price. While I was there I got on Trip Advisor and found the Andell had availability for my size room with the pond and pool view for about $100 a night less than what I was paying. Live and learn.

Response from Meredith Klindtworth, General Manager at Andell Inn

Good Morning ALDanielson, Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Andell Inn Residence Inn Kiawah Island. You are correct as a Residence Inn we do not have a restauant. However, we do offer the full complimentary breakfast as you experienced and we do have a full bar open daily from 3pm-9pm also serving light fare options in the evening. During the slower occupancy we are trying to accomoidate all of guests in the most desirable rooms. During your stay we were working on a carpet cleaning project for the entire hotel and some of the floors were placed out of order to complete this project. I would not blame your booking option on the view you recevied and do apologize that we were not able to accomodate that during your visit. Although, we alwasy recommend booking direct with Marriott to get the best rates and oppotunites to commicate all of the detials so you know what to expect prior to arrival. We do hope you will return if your travels bring you back to the area. Please feel free to contact me direclty for any futher bookings and I can ensure you are in a nice view. Stay Well, Meredith Klindworth 843-793-6051
