Cannot say enough about this absolutely perfect resort! Attention to deal is the understatement of the century. From the exquisite touches in the decor in resort areas and in our room to the friendly, gracious and accommodating staff- this place is next level luxurious. The dream vacation started with an individualized trip planning by Sean Peterson with Golf Trip Junkie travel agency. My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 40th birthdays and he is an avid golfer and I was looking for a tropical getaway and Sean’s package and this decadent resort certainly delivered both! We spent a night in Charleston and were heading to Kiawah the following morning for a 10 am tee time for my hubby at the Ocean Course and a 12 pm massage at the Sanctuary for me. I was concerned that my early arrival would be problematic since we were not due to officially check in until 4pm. Sean spoke with the resort ahead of time and arranged for me to have access to the resort amenities during the day while my husband golfed. When I arrived at the resort I headed to the Spa for my massage. My massage therapist, Maggie, was AMAZING! I highly recommend! After being treated to such a relaxing spa treatment I made my way to the front desk. The staff knew my name, and referred to the notes on the account. Never once did I feel awkward, nor uncomfortable about my early arrival. The Sanctuary staff was beyond accommodating, welcoming and friendly and as an added bonus had my room ready for me to check in for 1pm so that I could get settled before I hit the beach! The concierge arranged for my bags to be taken to my room and I pulled up in front of the hotel. Due to my own clumsiness I fumbled a bag with craft Bloody Mary mix I had purchased at the local shopping village. I was so embarrassed to be making such an obnoxious entrance in front of this swanky resort but the staff were so kind and helpful. Tyrone (who was not only hilarious but also extremely knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the area) brought up my things to the room and gave me some great tips on places to go and catching a sunset on the Ocean Course at Ryder Cup Bar. Before he left the room he reached for a bag and handed me a brand new bottle of Bloody Mary mix to replace the one I had dropped and with a smile said “Happy Birthday! Enjoy your stay!” How sweet is that?!!! The experience only got better throughout our stay from the beach staff, impeccable service at the resort dining venues, and I can’t begin to name each and every staff member that added to the perfection of this trip. We thoroughly enjoyed every second of this vacation. My husband had a fantastic time playing the beautiful Ocean Course and more laid back but just as enjoyable Osprey Course. I basked in the sun on the beach and in the pools and explored the luscious landscape. We will definitely be back and cannot rant and rave enough about this trip! I felt like a princess and truly appreciate the hospitality provided by the Sanctuary and Kiawah Golf Course staff. One last thing- try to catch a sunset at the Ryder Cup Bar- it was absolutely gorgeous and the food and drinks were unique and delicious!

Coming off of an incredible family vacation at the Sanctuary and can’t say enough great things about our experience. Literally every interaction with their staff from housekeeping down to the beach attendants was positive and first class. While other hotels are dealing with staffing issues we we’re blown away on how excellent and consistent the staff was everywhere. Lisa in the Lobby Bar went out of her way to accommodate our daughters and Alex at Front Desk was very helpful in not having us transfer rooms when we extended our stay. Hotel was incredibly well kept and quiet. Didn’t have to worry about noisy partiers as this property was mostly families and couples which was refreshing. We can’t wait to visit again. Recommendations- we booked dinner reservations a month out and we’re lucky because everywhere on the island was booked. Ice cream shop was a favorite for the kids- why close at 5? Be great to see some of the kids activities better communicated. Flyer, app etc. found myself digging through links on the website. Overall 5 stars don’t stay anywhere else

Dear rajp4, Many thanks to you and your family for choosing to spend your family vacation wiht us. We were absolutely delighted to have you with us as our guests. Thanks also for taking the time to offer this wonderful feedback, particularly for acknowledging the service of Lisa and Alex, along with others on our team. Excellent advice regarding dinner reservations. I join you in strongly encouraging future guests who may be reading this to make dinner reservations well in advance. During this particularly busy season, waiting until one is on property could result in frustration in not being able to attain first choices in dining. Thanks also for your thoughtful suggestions regarding Beaches and Cream and activities. We will certainly take those suggestions into consideration. Thanks again, and we look forward to welcoming you back.

My friends and I celebrated a belated 50th birthday celebration for all three of us this past weekend on Kiawah Island. We stayed at the Sanctuary for 4 days and 3 nights and also did a one-day excursion into Charleston. On behalf of my friends and me, we want to do a shout-out for the amazing Sanctuary concierge-- Kevin McQuade! Because of Kevin, we found great hidden gems for restaurants and bars in Charleston that we never would have found on our own. We learned about off-the-beaten track places on Kiawah and we always felt we had someone whom we could discuss options with at all times. Even when we were in Charleston, we would phone Kevin to ask about a specific place we were thinking of going or to help us book an activity. He was amazing and we hope that if you are staying at Kiawah, he is on duty during your stay! We also want to do a quick shout-out for the wonderful drivers of the Sanctuary house cars who will get you around Kiawah and nearby islands as well as pick you up if you have a late dinner nearby. And the attendants at the pool were so friendly too! Wonderful service at the Sanctuary!

This was our first visit and while my husband of golfing, I was spa-ing ;-) The spa was great. I was lucky enough to get Michelle for a massage and she was very good. The staff was really friendly and professional. Corey at the omelet station at Jasmine Porch restaurant was amazing and what a kind smile. Suzette in the lobby bar area was great as well as Darlanine in the Ocean club restaurant. To top it off Dana Blake one of the operators went above and beyond. The grounds were lovely and the beach was nice.

Zero rating for this so called beautiful resort. We visited Kiawah island 2 days ago to attend a wedding. We Arrived at 320 pm and were told room is not ready. Our shuttle for the wedding was to leave at 530 , so we requested a room as soon as possible. We were told the room is being cleaned. So we said, it’s ok we will wait. We came back to the desk at 420 and again were told room is being cleaned. We then emphasized we had to attend a wedding and time was of essence. We had to waiting another hour and finally got the room at 520 pm and missed the wedding Sad part of the story is that the hotel never apologized Also of note, there were many other guests, who came after us and got the room. There were two guests, who did not get the room for 2 hours, and both these guests were Indians. Is this a coincidence?. I will never know. Please refrain from going to this so called iconic resort
