I have done a lot of hiking throughout the Rockies and elsewhere and I can honestly say none have been better than the 3 days of hiking we did just prior to the Canada Day weekend around Mount Assiniboine Lodge. The variety and diversity of the terrain was impressive and offered a surprise around every turn. The mountain scenery and... More

The Naiset Huts are located in Assiniboine Provincial Park. The huts are very rustic, bring your own sleeping bag, 6 people to a hut and they are intended for communal living. There are no restaurants, no stores, no showers, pit toilets - yes but there is also a nice communal cooking shelter with 2 burner propane stoves, LED lighting and... More

Mt. Assiniboine is truly a YOLO experience. The mountain is the Matterhorn of the Canadian Rockies. The lodge is accessible either by hiking in (from Mt. Shark or Sunshine Meadows) or by Helicopter (from Canmore or Mt. Shark). It is a classic old mountain lodge with 5 rooms and 5(?) associated cabins. All told, there are 30 guests at any... More

A special spring weekend to celebrate my son's birthday milestone at this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Memories were made from the helicopter ride through the Canadian Rockies into the lodge for a 3 days/2 nights staying in one of their lodge cabins nestled below Mount Assiniboine the "Matterhorn" of the Rockies. The food was spectacular (summoned by the sound of... More

My family and I spent 4 amazing days in this park last summer. The Naiset Huts were an inexpensive and rustic option to the lodge, but fantastic and easy on the wallet as we had to helicopter ($) in with our 9, 10 and 13 year old kids. The Wonder Lodge cooking shelter was fabulous and had all the amenities.... More

Just got back from 3 days/2 nights at Assiniboine Lodge. We booked this trip as a birthday gift for my wife. Forget what everyone says...it's even better than that. We flew in by helicopter from Canmore. Just to get there you fly through incredible scenery but what awaits is even more incredible once you arrive at the lodge. Nestled in... More

It is an amazing place. Stayed only two nights but wanted more. The views just kept on coming, the flora and fauna are everywhere. The guides were informative and took you off the beaten track. The food was exceptional. Would go back again and again

Truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Couple this with some fascinating history, great food and staff that genuinely want you to have the best trip ever and it becomes hard to beat. If you are on a budget consider hiking in and camping or staying in the Naiset cabins (also managed by the lodge) Highly recommended... More

We stayed in the lodge for four days in July and it was amazing. Three things stand out. 1. Claude who runs the lodge is a man of genius. A benevolent ruler of his mountain kingdom. Be aware you are going somewhere special and act accordingly. 2. The food is amazing. The best we had in Canada. 3. As the... More

Visited last weekend and the views are spectacular! Dinner was good but the breakfast was the mist disappointing thing I have ever seen. The money we paid for this excursion and we were presented with half cooked hard boiled eggs that we had to peel. We expected a 5 star dining experience and were presented a 1 star breakfast and...
