I just stayed at this resort for 3 nights and I would advise anyone to not stay at the Villages which is the hotel area. They are adding 150 rooms next door and the construction noise is very annoying, when your outside on the balcony. I had a beautiful huge balcony and couldn’t enjoy it during the week. The rooms are very nice although more business like than beach decor. Everyone who worked there were very accommodating and friendly. The pool located close to the ocean was very nice although the loud music was only tolerable for a couple of hours. I would stay here again but not until the addition is completed.
I’m not sure why, but this app would not allow me to put that the month I visited was OCTOBER 2020, not September. Regardless... This is one of the best beach trips I have been on! My sister’s family and I took a Fall Break trip to this beautiful island. Usually, people where we live vacation in Florida or Alabama, so it was a nice change for us. It was great to look down the beach and not see a ton of high rise hotels. We stayed at Tidewater I 204. The condo was great, it had very updated appliances and was clean. The screen on the rear patio was especially nice because we have young children. The gate on the front patio was a little difficult to open and close, but this was very minor. The condo was very close to beach access. The pool included a kiddie pool. The only thing about the pool I did not like is that access between the pool and beach was restricted, because a padlock was placed on the gate. Again, this is minor. The beach itself was wonderful, although you should watch out for sand spurs! They are everywhere when walking from the dunes to the beach and they are painful. I’m not sure if it was because it was Fall or because of COVID, but the beach was not busy at all, and there was plenty of room to social distance. There are many more shells there than I have ever seen on other beaches, although the crushed shells can be painful, so bring water shoes! We didn’t really utilize other amenities on the resort because they were closed or too far of a drive. Tidewater is 2 miles past the gate, so if you are planning on doing a lot of off beach activities, it can seem like you are driving forever! The island itself seemed much less touristy than other beach towns and that was appreciated. …
The condo was extremely nice! Oceanview was beautiful. Highly recommend staying at Wild Dunes any time Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer! This was my third time coming down. We have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn, We have rented out a house Hidden Greens 31, this time we got a condo. We will definitely be back! Might even wind up moving we love it so much!
From reservations to actual stay was great. Seascape 412 has an incredible view of the ocean, is beautifully decorated, lots of parking, and located only minutes from the main gate entrance. Easily walked the bike path around the resort for daily exercise. Local restaurants, site seeing and grocery stores are easy to find in Ilse of Palms / Mt. Pleasant.
House was very spacious and clean. There was a very short walk on a private path to the beach which was beautiful! We had as many as 10 people staying with us and we had plenty of room for all. Rooftop terrace was a favorite spot for late afternoon happy hours! Golf on links course is great! Eco tours cruise is also excellent! This was our 3rd time visiting Wild Dunes. Will go again next year!
