I'm recently back from a two week stay at Coral Reef Resort. January in Hilton Head? Absolutely. No crowds, weather in the 70's, no wait at restaurants and great biking and golfing weather. Coral Reef was a perfect relaxing spot. The townhouse was super clean with brand new appliances (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker, washer and dryer. The townhouse was very spacious (about 1350-1400 square feet). The master bed was extremely comfortable. Coral Reef is located within the Shipyard living community (private homes, condos, public golf course, Sonesta Hotel Resort, Tennis Clubs, Health Club and beach access). The location is quiet and the grounds are kept to perfection.

Very nice place. Room very clean. Furniture was comfortable. The dishcloths were missing when we got there but I had a dish cloth in my "kitchen" satchel so I didn't report the missing dishcloths. I did have to call to have someone come to show us how to use the DVD player - it was not covered in the unit information booklet.

My husband and I exchanged an RCI Week for a week at the Coral Reef Resort in Hilton Head in January. We couldn't take a full week off work, so we drove down after work Wednesday night and checked out Sunday. It was too cool to swim and rained half of one day, but we had a wonderful time. We biked to the beach on the complimentary bikes, walked the beaches, watched the sun rise and set, ate the delicious island food, did a little shopping. We had a 2 bedroom in case any of our grown kids could join us. The villa was clean, beautifully decorated, homey. We were surprised that 2 of the 3 bathrooms had tubs with water jets. I called ahead and everything was in place for us, we had no trouble with our very late night check-in. It was restful, therapeutic, and a perfect escape.

The Coral Reef Resort was nice place to stay I give the resort a 3-star rating.
The rooms were clean but needed some detailed cleaning such as the vents.
were dirty, ceiling fan in our bedroom was in need of a good cleaning, the back deck was in need of a good power wash and table and chairs were in need of a good cleaning also. Pool area was nice but small in size.

Key pad not working locked out under an intense rain storm, had the cleaning crew from next door unlocking our doors. We were soaked!!! Called it in took 3 and a half hours before it got handheld which means we could not leave the place! Carpets were soaked from being wash, couldn’t walk bare foot. Then…Cockroaches, I know it’s the south and this can happen but the way this was handled was by far way under expectation. Front desk were very nice and helpful but so much they can do. Extremely disappointed on management.

Stayed in Unit #116. An alarm alert was going off just outside the condo in the outside storage closet / garbage area when we arrived. We could hear the alert inside the condo in the kitchen and living room areas. Called maintenance the next morning to have the alert turned off. Later that afternoon maintenance arrived and shut the alert off. Maintenance informed me that if the alert went off again, I could turn it off by hitting a reset button on a red box in the closet area. I turned the alert off at least 2X per day for the next 5 days. The alert was finally fixed on Friday of our stay. We checked out on Saturday. In addition, AC did not work well to cool the 2nd bedroom. There was little to no air flow in this bedroom. 2nd bedroom air flow needs to be improved and or a ceiling fan installed. Ceiling fan in master bedroom was very noisy. would not stay in this unit again.

I was So Excited, I booked this resort 9 months in advanced, I called 1 month prior and 1 week prior, to ensure my reservation was correct. They messed it up! They said I would have a 1 story 3 bdr 3 1/2 bath, Which I booked,but did not get that upon check in. I instead had to move into the 2nd choice which was a 2 story to get a 3 bdr with 3 Bath ( which we needed for 2 couples and a teenage boy). I had knee problems, and my daughter is special needs so going up and down the stairs to get into the unit was TERRIBLE ! They had only 1/3 pools open, but the open pool was only for exclusive owners. The only way to use a pool / swim was to take a trolley ride 10 min or walk - totally unrealistic ! No Bikes came with the units, our TV did not work when we checked in! The town is Beautiful, but the Coral Reef is NOT worth your time!! I own 3 Gold Crown Properties and have been a RCI Platinum member for over 23 years - very dissapointed.

Unit had been refreshed, Very nice condition. Great location and having two bikes (new ones) provided per unit was very helpful. This is a small development so no matter where you were, the pool was relatively close by.

We had a lovely 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo with fully equipped kitchen, 3 televisions for every one to choose their shows. The beds were very comfortable. The unit had been recently painted and new window decor. The biggest washing machine ever had.
Furniture comfortable but could do with update before long. Very spacious, easy to prepare meals we wanted there. Appreciate the bedrooms being upstairs to help keep us in shape and also quiet for sleeping while others were watching tv or playing cards. Additional bonus was prompt delivery of bikes by Wheelz

From beginning to end we had a wonderful time at Coral Reef. The newly renovated unit was large and well stocked. The pool area was very nice and well maintained. Easy parking right outside the front door. They provided two free bikes which we used every day around town.
