On Hilton Head Island, there is no place like Beach House. A world away from the sprawling, plantation-style resorts—Beach House keeps things comfortable, casual and conveniently close. The sun-kissed beach, iconic Tiki Bar, refreshing pool, and tasty Lowcountry cooking are all here. The legendary Tiki Hut is the heartbeat of Beach House with cold beer, frosty cocktails and live music nearly every day. It’s the spot for an incredible time right on the beach. Guests can enjoy casual and fresh Lowcountry favorites at The Porch Southern Kitchen & Bar with dining options on the spacious patio, around an inviting firepit, relaxing poolside, or in the bright indoor dining room. The coastal-themed guestrooms provide ultimate comfort when guests are ready to relax and recharge.

This was our 7th year in a row visiting during Labor Day and we will be back for an 8th year. We usually only stay Thursday through to Labor Day, but extended our stay for 10 days this year since our usual vacation was canceled due to COVID-19 - are we're so glad we did. There's so much to do not only at the resort, but all around the island. Great bars and restaurants, many ocean front, with really good bands playing at a lot of them. Staff at Beach House is awesome, from Natasha at the front desk, Mary, Sydney, Ashley, Karli and Mike at the Porch bar and Tiki Hut, Patricia and Lisa in housekeeping, etc. Staff truly engage with the clientele, always had a smile, asked if you needed anything, and really seemed to enjoy their job. Manager Margaret Corning has done a fantastic job with picking and training staff to make the guest experience really enjoyable. And being somewhat worried about visiting during COVID - don't be. Staff were constantly cleaning/disinfecting, everyone at resort and on the island were socially distancing, restaurants/bars were set up for social distancing - we're from MA and felt safer here, even though MA is one of the strictest states in the country right now. Bottom line, we wouldn't come back every year if they weren't doing something right, and the Beach House certainly is. From its location right on the beach, to the food at the Porch restaurant, bands/drinks at he Tiki Hut, being located right next to Coligny Plaza - but mostly the staff. Again, if you're looking to stay on HHI, I wouldn't look any further than the Beach House - it's got everything to make your vacation truly enjoyable. We'll see you next Labor Day!

this is our 1st time here. Our room was very nice and spacious. The porch and tiki bar are great places to hang out. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Can walk to shops, bars, and other restaurants from the hotel. You can park your car and never get back in it til you leave. The tiki bar has live music daily. Overall great place to stay.

We lived in Hilton Head for several years - and our children were born here - but we moved away and had not been back for 16 years. We decided to come back and visit for a week and see how things had changed, as well as just wanted to relax and enjoy the beach and pool. When we were young and newly married and moved to HHI, we lived in an apartment near Coligny and the Tiki Hut was our "go to" place as a local for beach fun and live entertainment. It was one of our favorite memories. So, when we decided to come back to visit, we had to stay at Coligny and be where all our first memories were made. So, what better choice than the Beach House, the home of our forever favorite Tiki Hut? This place did not disappoint! The staff was so friendly and welcoming and always ready to help/serve. Food - The Porch (hotel restaurant) had the most delicious strawberry salad - I had it for lunch every day! - and their sweet potato fries with that yummy marshmallow dip was fantastic! Pool - The pool has a deep end...which was so wonderful because I do "fluid running" (running water in the deep end of pools...like treading water but actually running...my joints won't allow me to run on land anymore, so this is what I do) - I've never been to a hotel with a deep end, so this was a fantastic "plus" to being here and I could keep up with my exercise routine. The water was perfect temperature for August - didn't feel like bathwater, so it actually cooled you off, but it also wasn't too cold either, so you could jump right in. It was clean and the chairs surrounding the pool were comfortable. They offer movies at night with headphones for kids, so they can hear and watch the movie, yet the live music from the Tiki Hut was easily heard for parents. There is also a fire pit at the pool at night as well as a ping pong table (used all day and evening) and large Jenga to play as well. Tiki Hut - Was exactly as I remembered...the music was the "beach music" you expect and absolutely did not disappoint and was so nostalgic and "chill". LOVED IT. Beach volleyball is there as well, but the sand was too hot to enjoy that, as well as COVID didn't allow it. (more on COVID later) Beach - beautiful, clean, lively. We rented the chairs and umbrella, so we had guaranteed spot and shade during the day. The jellyfish were bad for most of the week we were there, but that didn't stop from relaxing sounds of waves and the ocean breeze and the beauty of it all. Sand was hot...you need beach sandals/shoes. Room - The temperature of the room was AWESOME. The temp outside was in the high 90s and humid, but the room was a cool 68/70 and for a gal during menopause, that was perfect! The bed was comfortable for the first few days, but by the end of our trip (seven days), my back had enough. However, our 19 year old daughter said it was fine, so maybe that's an age thing. Everything about the room was great except I would say that there isn't enough "hanging" space. The closet space was great for hanging clothes...bring hangers though...but I mean hanging wet towels and bathing suits. There is no outside/patio, only windows. So, you have to hang your wet stuff inside and there is nothing to hang anywhere. But that was the only negative to the room. Oh...if you are tall (like we are...shortest family member is 5'11")...be aware that everything is made for short people. Toilets are low. Bed is low. Which is not a big deal unless you have knee issues and struggle getting up off short things. COVID...they handled things AMAZING! If you are worried about traveling because of the pandemic...obviously you need to do your part in being cautious, but the Beach House absolutely did an amazing job with this! We always saw staff cleaning...constantly cleaning halls, elevators, etc. The elevator only allows your room to be in it when you use it...so no closeness and there is absolutely social distancing. The pool chairs are set up and distanced. The bar has spots marked for standing so you are distanced while you wait your turn. masks are worn until you get to your socially distanced "spot". The beach...even the umbrellas and chairs are set up for distancing and everyone who used the beach had their own set ups apart from everyone. We went all over the island and felt ZERO concern because absolutely EVERYONE was respecting guidelines. It was an easy vacation that showed that we can still continue "living" during a pandemic... and I was very proud as a past local to see HHI handling things so well. Thank you Beach House and Hilton Head for that! Would we go back? ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY! In fact, I'm already working on my husband for when!

We chose this hotel because it had direct beach access, had a pool bar, tiki hut on the sand and claimed that it would be following Covid 19 precautions according to IHG policy. Let me be clear...if you are looking for a hotel that is taking the recommended Covid precautions per the state and CDC, do NOT stay here. Masks were NOT worn by staff working indoors (maintenance, front desk, maid service). Masks were not worn by staff serving food and drinks in the indoor/outdoor dining areas. Guests were not asked to wear masks or stay 6 feet apart anywhere in the hotel premises, although there were signs around that staff were ignoring. When I asked the front desk what the policy was, the woman simply said "Our policy is to wear masks while indoors in public spaces". This woman said this while having a mask around her neck.....I also did not see any extra cleaning precautions during my stay. Tables and surfaces in the restaurant and bar areas were not cleaned after each use. While I know I took a calculated risk to travel at this time, I think the least a guest should be able to expect is for the state laws to be followed throughout the trip. It is not hard to require the staff to wear a mask, and I find it extremely disappointing that this small act of consideration towards others was not happening at this resort. Other cons: We had a thunder storm on one of the nights, which caused a huge flood in the first floor that spread into the first floor rooms. We were on the second floor and still had flooding from rain coming in through the window. An entire suitcase got soaked with rain water. Food/drink was not great. I would recommend going offsite for meals. (Especially if you are looking for somewhere that requires masks.) The hotel is noisy, so pack ear plugs for a good night sleep. The beach chairs in the pictures near the volleyball courts are no longer there and the courts are shut down for Covid (ironic how this is closed, but masks are not worn), so the only chairs available are a few by the pool - these were full the whole weekend. You can rent chairs on the beach through the lifeguards for $35/day. There are also very limited views from most rooms. The rooms were musty and bathroom was peeling and rusty. Staff was rude. I am an IHG status holder from the amount of travel I have done in the past for work and I've never stayed at a hotel that didn't greet their guests in a friendly way or try to accommodate should the guests have any complaint (such as lack of Covid precautions). I would not stay here again. Some pros: I will say the beds here were very comfortable and pillows were great. The beach access was the highlight of the trip and one of the major reasons chose this hotel. These pros do not outweigh the cons above in my opinion.
