This quaint clean family-friendly hotel sits next to Coligny Plaza. something I didn’t realize when I booked, but I was surprised by how private it still feels! You walk straight out the back door to the pool and out the pool fence to the beach. Because it’s next to Coligny Beach access, I worried we’d be overwhelmed with beach goers. But I was really quite surprised. Yes, The public beach can get busy at peak hours but we tend to do beach early and later afternoons and *even at peak times* (10-2 first week of August) we easily found a great spot to park our things and play with the kids in the sand. We weren’t on top of each other. Beach chairs can be rented in front of hotel. Hotel is clean. Room and bathroom felt clean. Carpet didn’t have anything weird on it as some beach hotels do. The bathroom has pumps in the shower with lovely shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Easy peezy. Fridge and safe in room. WiFi worked well for us. Staff is super friendly which creates a culture of friendliness among visitors. I was surprised by how many staff just said “hello” and asked how we were doing or doted on our kids. Kids are not seen an inconvenience or a nuisance here. Food at the Porch Bar and poolside eatery was so so convenient and tasted great. Tables and chairs make hopping out of the pool for snacks or family meals easy. It was better than meals we had at other places offsite. Please don’t leave until you try the shrimp and grits. I’m from SC and it’s truly one of the best I’ve ever had. The seafood was quite good. The frozen rum drinks were great. The tiki hut is a public bar/restaurant also on the property (adjacent to the pool) and you can enjoy great music (your favorite covers) literally all day by the pool. It’s the perfect volume to enjoy without disturbing anyone. The pool was great. Relaxing. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Never felt terribly crowded. The morning by the pool is amazingly calm. They play movies late in the evening for the kids. Headphones are available so adults don’t have to listen. Because Coligny is right next door (and I do mean a walk through the trees between the hotel and the public beach walk) you have access to everything there without ever getting into a car. Ice cream, shopping, food galore. Surprisingly it still feels very private and safe onsite. They have a parking lot attendant and parking onsite is free to guests. You really cannot go wrong. If you have kids there is always food and bathrooms at your fingertips. You can grab waters or juices from the lobby (throw them on your room tab) and head out to the beach. It’s just clean and easy. We’d do it all over again in a heartbeat! Of all the vacations we’ve taken to Hilton head we consider this one the best.…
Just returned from a 5 day stay. We had stayed in HHI before so knew the area and thought we wanted to be a bit closer to the action this time. The location is great, but it also attracts alot of folks to the area. We checked in and have to say the front desk was not all that friendly. They give you lanyards to wear, but they did not explain how to get umbrellas at the beach, the different restaurants, where to get towels, how to get to our rooms, or if there were carts to bring our bags up. We stayed in a Jr Suite which was perfect for the 4 of us. We had 1 king size bed and 2 built in couches / window seats that the kids were comfortable sleeping on. The room was clean, it was a bit damp but to be expected in that climate, the AC did a good job drying it out. We weren't in the room other than to sleep so it was perfect for us. Housekeeping was very friendly and provided us fresh towels daily. Now the negatives: Front desk staff wasn't friendly or helpful You pay for chairs and umbrellas at the beach. Then the public comes and fills in around you. The beach can get very crowded and on two occasions we returned to the beach to find that people had taken our seats, so we had to ask them to move. You pay a resort fee but not sure what it gets you. I guess towels? Would have liked some bottled water in the room, also no gym on premise. The pool chairs were all taken all day. I know there were posted rules about not saving chairs for more than 30 minutes, but no enforcement. In general, there wasn't alot of staff around, they may be hurting like everywhere else. The Tiki bar can be unsavory. My wife was insulted by an intoxicated patron. The food is decent and drinks are excellent. The red headed waitress was great, the taller male bartender wasn't friendly. Again, the location was great, You are right on the water and close to many restaurants.…
The Beach House Resort offers a great location, awesome accommodations, and wonderful staff! This is our first time in Hilton Head and could not be happier with the overall experience. 100% recommended!
Hotel room was good, the food and drinks were phenomenal, expensive, but worth the money for the quality and convenience. Pool was very nice and the kids enjoyed movie night by the pool every night! It was great to sit by the pool with a nice drink enjoying the live music at the tiki hut, while the kids watched a movie with Bluetooth headphones on. Centrally located so you can walk just about anywhere you could possibly want to go. We will certainly be visiting again.
Positives: The hotel/room are updated with a rustic, nautical theme and are clean. The hotel is directly on the beach and is in walking distance to many cute shops and outdoor entertainment (which close/end around 9pm). Negatives: The hotel makes their guests rent lounge chairs/umbrella on the beach. We rented 2 chairs w umbrella after 3pm for $15 (+gratuity) only to be given the boot at 5pm as they were “closing for the night”and packing it up. Also, parking is a nightmare! Don’t return from a destination too late as you may literally not have a space! This happened to us and when I informed the front desk, she told me security was aware that people would be leaving soon. Reading between the lines, they allow non hotel patrons to park and enjoy the bar and festivities at night while hotel patrons search around for 30mins for a spot. Overall, just an OK time here in SC.…
had a great time at the pool and in the beach at Hilton Head Island at the Beach House. Enjoyed the people, the band and live music and all the people watching. I would not hesitate to stay at the Beach House again on my next visit.
Nice hotel with perfect location. Right on the beach with a great pool area and tiki bar with bands and easy walk to food and shopping! Food at the tiki bar was surprisingly really good. Also a nice fire pit area by the pool and a movie at night for the kids.
Our stay was awesome ! Every staff member we came in contact with was so kind and accommodating ! We felt very valued as a guest ! Beach is beautiful ! Daily bands are a definite plus ! Will go back again !
The staff was friendly and relaxed. Excellent location since it is close to restaurants shopping, bike rentals, parks etc. It's easy to stay on the premises since they have a great pool-side eatery " The Porch" had delicious, moderately priced food. The "Tikki-Hut had live music, entertainment and great drinks. The Beach House, properly named because it has a relaxing beach vibe and decor. I plan to return, and I highly recommend it!
Great location! Close to restaurants and shopping. The food at The Porch and Tikki Bar on premise was delicious and the entertainment was a nice bonus! Nice pool and it is right on the beach, would stay here again! Golf a mile away was awesome too!
