We have stayed in two different condos at Captain's Walk. Although some of the units are a bit dated as the buildings are older, you can't beat the location. Look for reviews for the specific condo you are thinking of before booking.

Captains walk is pretty much right on the beach, a quick walk past the pool and down the short board walk and you are there! 1. View are amazing so make sure you get room with full ocean front view, we stayed in 437 and the view was incredible from the master bedroom and the living area, just stunning! This... More

you cant get much closer to the ocean than this! our family has stayed here twice and it has been wonderful each time. beautiful views, and the condo we stayed in was updated and very clean. it has a great location in palmetto dunes, close to various golf courses and biking trails. would recommend to anyone thinking about staying in... We stayed in unit 424 for a week's vacation. The unit has 5 bedrooms and 3 baths. The common areas are spacious and the views of the beach are wonderful. We also enjoyed the spacious patio. While we enjoyed our stay it could have been improved by a few simple upgrades. The kitchen was not well equipped - no corkscrew... More

Great location in Palmetto dunes. We stayed in condo 401 first floor unit. Overall the unit was decent. Could use updating but three bedrooms fit our family well. The view was OK but blocked by trees and dunes. The pool was very nice and the walk to the beach was not bad at all.

I have stayed at Captain's Walk on and off for well over 20 years. There are no longer buildings being constructed in HH with this kind of size AND proximity to the beach. In that sense, the often frayed and worn furnishings, mostly owned by individuals but managed by local rental companies, are a good and now and then great... More

The title says it all...I have stayed on Hilton Head Island many times, but Captain's Walk remains my favorite. The view from my bedroom and the proximity to the water can't be beat. It was a lovely place to stay at with a lovely pool. The only thing that it was missing was a hot tub. Generally, this is a... More

This unit has been beautifully renovated and has an amazing view! I understand wear and tear on these rental properties but what we experienced was beyond that. Upon entering the condo we were greeted with a musty smell. The ceiling by the front door was covered in mold. Upon further inspection we also noticed it coming form each vent and... More

Great first floor location at Captains Walk away from the pool, so it was much quieter. Read another review complaining about the ants between boardwalk and the beach. Yeah, they are there, and they bite, but I have stayed all over the island. Not unique to Captains Walk. Wear flip flops. Captains Walk is actually one of the closest condos... More

Resort is in excellent location; easy access to ocean, nice grounds. Unit was dirty (vents black with soot, dirty socks under bed). Sofa broken down, mattresses in terrible shape, balcony furniture dilapidated, bathroom fixtures in shower were terrible. Just needs a redo.

“three buildings, each with five floors. You need to be on at least the third floor if you want a good ocean view.”

“We stayed on the ground level of the building to the right of the pool (if facing the ocean). We could see beautiful landscape and some ocean from our deck. Staying on the ground floor is a trade off. You can walk straight out but if you stay up higher you get a better view of the ocean. The middle building definitely is better if you want to walk straight out to the pool.”

“When staying at Captain's Walk, make sure your unit has an unobstructed view. Some of the units have palm trees growing up that obstruct their view.”
