The Westin Poinsett is definitely not a 4 diamond hotel. It should be categorized the same as a Holiday Inn near to any major freeway. I cannot even begin to understand how this disgusting hotel got such a high rating from AAA or the Westin brand. My room was deplorable, extremely outdated, and extremely tired. My room was filthy and disgusting. The furniture and fixtures were all crumbling apart. The front desk staff and managers are pathetic. Avoid at all costs! This property is a disgrace to the Westin brand.
Great property that keeps the historical significance alive. Room was ready early, mini fridge in the room, plenty of parking ($7 / night) in garage right next to the hotel. The location can't be beat - park your car and walk to everything around Greenville.
Best location in the city! The fabulous staff including a concierge is anxious to fulfill every need! The food is fantastic and room service will accommodate special requests. Heavenly Beds, and a Baby Grand piano add to the romance of this grand historic hotel. Here every guest receives a VIP experience! The Westin Poinsett is the best hotel in Greenville!
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary last month and we highly recommend. The staff, particularly Llana at the front desk, went out of their way to make our stay as wonderful as possible. We had a early check in and when we returned to our room after supper, they had sent up a small champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! The location is perfect if you just want to be able to walk to do some shopping, a variety of food or the swamp rabbit trail. This hotel also has a really cool historical vibe!
I want to thank Ms. Frances (Front Desk) and Susie Bayne (Sales). These two persons displayed a level of customer service that is SUPERB. Ms. Frances assisted me via the phone (I called FOUR TIMES) trying to make reservations for my co-worker coming in to attend a conference later this month. Ms. Frances patiently took my call EACH TIME going above and beyond, patiently assisting me making this reservation. Ms. Frances could not complete reservation due to constraints by conference host, so she then transferred me to Susie Bayne. Ms. Bayne worked with me on the phone until we got the reservation completed, not an easy task, again due to conference host constraints. Ms. Bayne was also so pleasant, never rushed and even chatted with me while completing reservation. If you or your company are looking for a great place to visit or hold a conference I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this facility. I will definitely be staying at this hotel for my girls day out with my daughters. You do not get this level of customer service face to face let alone via the phone. Again Ms. Frances, Susie Bayne, Thank you!!…
Celebration of our 55th high school class reunion was held in Greenville SC at the Westin Poinsett. The staff and management were a pleasure to work with. Rita Fowler and the chef along with the entire staff could not have been more accommodating. They offered ideas on space, food and worked with us on all requested accommodations for our event. We have held 5 events at this location and have never been disappointed. Love the atmosphere! JE Beck High, class of 1967
We live just 35 minutes from The Poinsett but we love to stay over downtown Greenville when we come in for dinner and the this historic hotel is our favorite even with all the new options available. Dorothy behind the bar has been serving us for years and always remembers us and provides excellent service. The live piano in the bar/lobby is such a soothing touch. It’s only August but I can’t wait to bring the family down when the Christmas decode goes up, it helps make the season!
The Westin Poinsett of Greenville, South Carolina has the best staff, service, location and overall accommodations. We are always greeted by Concierge, Janice Smith with a pleasant and warm welcome. Restaurant, valet, room service and front desk are impeccable! Best historic location in town... business, pleasure, relaxing... this is the place to be!
The Westin Poinsett is a place that values customer service throughout the hotel. Franchette at the Front Desk greeted us with a bright cheerful smile upon arrival. She was engaging, kind and she absolutely kickstarted our vacation! During our check in we had the pleasure to speak with Patrice. She was equally as kind, courteous and showed genuine interest in why we were visiting. Together, the made us feel even more excited for our vacation. It was as if our exhaustion from our long travels just disappeared! That is customer service at its finest. Later that day we went to grab a glass of champagne at the piano bar not knowing we would walk away with our hearts full! We met an absolute gem, Ms. Sylvia. Sylvia exemplified a combination of warmth, down-to-Earth charm, and goodwill. To have the ability to touch one’s heart in such a small about of time is truly a special gift. Thank you, Sylvia! During our visit with Sylvia, we encountered two friendly service professionals that are worth mentioning! Lakota wiping the tables down and Kate (I believe that is her name) who I think was another bartender or server. They checked in on us when Sylvia had to step away for a moment. They both were friendly and engaging. They did not have to go out of their way to check on us as we were not in their section. That is 5 star service! The next morning I had the pleasure of speaking to Francis on the phone. To impact a guest over the phone is tough but Francis knew how to make me feel like she was smiling through the phone. I felt comfortable calling her back for additional questions as she never made me feel like an inconvenience. There is no substitute for interactions that make guest feel genuinely welcomed, appropriated, and feel taken care of.…
Let me preface this first… this hotel is TOP NOTCH!!! I am big fan of great customer service, and this hotel EMBODIES it! From Chaz (and all the other valet and bellman), to Patresse at the front desk, to Janice in Concierge and Katie in the restaurant/room service and even Fabian, the General Manager. My twin sister (Jennifer Livingston) and I stayed here July 15-18, 2022 to celebrate each other as we both had recently completed a 75 Day mental discipline program. I live in locally in Greer, and she came in town from Wilmington, NC for us to spend 3 nights/4 days together. The Westin is not only staffed with some incredible people, but it’s located on Main Street where we walked many miles (for both pleasure and exercise), showed my sister downtown, ate, and did the obligatory “pet” of every dog that walked by us and chatting up complete strangers and say hi! Being that I have a recent background in the hospitality industry and Jennifer being a Director for Chick-fil-A, we were blown away from the moment that we arrived. Special shout out to Janice (Concierge) for her heartfelt note and special gift surprising us both for breakfast that Saturday (see picture). She made our day everyday we saw her! To Fabian, your team is incredible. I was on the “giving end” of hospitality for over 10 years, and to be on the “receiving end” in the manner that you team executed, was 100% a breath of fresh air!!! Thank You Westin Poinsette Team for making it a memorable weekend for us!!! Jessica Kenny…
