Overall very happy with my stay. Wingate is reliable and pretty much the only hotel I will stay at.
When I arrived in my room there was a dirty towel on the counter, hair on the folded towels, a brown liquid running down the walls of the shower, and the bed sheets had stains on them. Very disappointed!
This hotel was everything you could ever want and i felt home while there. My stsy ended up being extended to a long term stay and i had the option to switch to a differental hotel. I chose to stay here because of the service and attention to detail.
The room was great, the location to the camp facility was just right. The breakfast was hot and fresh. That we could walk to restaurants for dinner was a plus. We would stay there again if ever in the area.
This is our second time staying here but I’m not sure if there will be a third. Check-in was decent but the attendant was definitely not the friendliest. I was never acknowledged as a Wyndham rewards member but that wasn’t a huge deal to me. After working all day moving our daughter in to Clemson, we are quite tired. My youngest daughter goes to take a shower and while she’s in the shower, the alarms start going off on the floor. We walk out into the hallway and there’s nothing or nobody. A couple more minutes go by, our ears are ringing and it’s just super loud. My husband calls the front desk to make sure they knew the alarm was going off. The lady just acts like it’s no big deal. She’s obviously not hearing what we’re hearing and seems to care less. My husband asks if we need to evacuate and she said it’s probably just someone who was smoking in their room. At least 10 more AGONIZING minutes go by. I call to see how much long it’s going to be or if there’s something we need to do. She seems bothered that I’m calling. Again, she’s not hearing what I am because she’s not on this floor. Finally, it’s turned off. I understand they can’t control what happens but they can control how they handle the situation. I forgot to mention that as we checked in and came around by the Business Center, we saw water coming through the ceiling. My husband alerted the front desk. They came running and were of course shocked but never thanked my husband for alerting them. I guess I’ve been spoiled with superb customer service at other Wyndham hotels. I certainly did not receive that this time. Other than the customer service aspect and the super annoying fire alarm, the room is nice and comfy and very clean. The shower could use a little attention and the AC is kind of loud but all in all, it’s definitely a good place to stay aside from the customer service issues. Not sure I’ll stay here again but I’ll definitely stay at another Wingate by Wyndham.…
