I stayed at the Quality Inn in Fort Mill last week, my third time here. While still a decent hotel, I noticed issues here that weren't present during my previous trips here. My room for this stay was 116, a standard room with two queen beds. While I wanted to book a suite like last time, they didn't go online till the last minute and when they did, they were around $143. First thing I noticed was the door wasn't straight on the frame and required quite a bit of effort to open and close. As I've seen with several hotels, the entrance area floor had been refitted with tile. I don't know if it was the cleaning materials or something else, but this entrance area was very slippery. The focus in the age of COVID is on cleaning "high-touch" surfaces, which were cleaned well here. But a bit more effort should be devoted to less "high-touch" areas like walls and headboards, as I noticed some residue left on them. Otherwise, it was minor things like corrosion on one of the lamps, some cigarette burn holes on the bed throw (in a 100% non smoking hotel) and a broken USB input connector on the TV. The room was fine other than that, with a comfortable bed and in-room amenities that worked well. No issues with wi-fi, either. The desk, nightstand, and TV stand appeared to be fairly new. And for a room rate of just under $67, I was perfectly satisfied with the value I received. The hotel still hasn't returned to a full hot breakfast, but is presenting their items on the breakfast counter again. The juice machine was out of order, unfortunately. Staff was helpful and assisted me with printing documents as well as contacting a taxi service when the one I originally reserved left me hanging. The Quality Inn of Fort Mill is still a good enough hotel for a brief stay, but I hope that the increased number of minor issues this time around aren't indicative of a trend. The worn room lamps and perhaps even the off-balance door can be attributed to building age, but not wiping down some surfaces is something that housekeeping is directly responsible for. Still, I'd probably stay here again. The hotel as a whole wasn't bad, and considering my past stays I'm more inclined to consider the issues I encountered a one-time fluke - unless they happen the next time I visit.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past. We picked this hotel because of our past positive experiences. But NEVER AGAIN. Holes in curtains, Used sweet and low pack in a coffee cup. Looks like are under the sink had not been swept in weeks. Wifi worked for about 5 minutes then dropped the connection. Could not get back in. Front desk was clueless. Just kept telling us to enter the access code. Could not understand you need to connect to enter the code. Not the friendless staff. Which is a BIG change from our past experiences I am a Professional Hotel photographer. So I stayed in my share of hotels both good and bad. This one is a definite no stay for the future.

We found this lodging fairly late in the evening, meaning that we were too tired to look around. My room was inexpensive ($65.00 which included the tax) but I had a couple of issues with the place. The carpeting in the hallway was quite dirty, and I am not sure a shampoo would fix this. My room was fine, even though the bathroom was very small. I can deal with issues like that. The thing that unnerved me was that when I opened the door to my room to go next door to tell my sister something, there were two guys sitting on the floor. Most likely they had a reason for being there and were harmless, but it unsettled me. Breakfast was included, but it was on the scanty side.

My stay here (back in May) was my first post-COVID hotel stay, when restrictions were beginning to lift. A major appliance in my home failed which required me to seek hotel accommodations until it could be replaced. Because of low occupancy, I was able to book a whirlpool suite at a reasonable rate. The whirlpool suite (#236) was spacious and clean, if some of the furniture had some wear to it. My two night stay was comfortable and without incident. COVID reduced the normally hot breakfast to grab and go offerings, which honestly, is just something that we travelers are going to have to get used to in the months to come. Service was friendly. The Quality Inn Fort Mill is a clean, convenient, if somewhat older hotel (interior corridors, but no elevator) that makes a fine, reasonably priced hotel option in the Fort Mill/Carowinds area.

Unprofessional frt desk personal, dirty carpet and musty smelling room. I guess you get what you pay for. Dirty parking lot, odd sketchy entrances. I don’t think I’ll ever be back. I’ll pay a little more.....
