So glad we came across this hidden gem while in Folly Beach,SC! Super romantic, cozy, clean, quiet place to stay and the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area! Perfect place to make lots of memories,as well as beautiful photographs! Highly recommend!
I was so hoping this B&B would provide a decent getaway for us after months of being cooped up at home. But the rooms are sorely in need of a refresh and the cleaning efforts during a pandemic were barely passable. The golf cart shuttle service and exterior grounds are a plus, but that’s about it. The staff are young and nice, but clearly aren’t empowered to make decisions to make up for some of the inadequacies of this property overall. I wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.
Outside - the grounds are very nice and well maintained. The shuttle service was extremely convenient and the location was very close to the Main Street attractions. The main complaint would be the shuttle drop off is at a public access and the main hotel in town which made it VERY crowded and not the most “relaxing”. Inside - I’m honestly surprised with all the positive reviews. Frankly, our expectations, particularly during a pandemic, would be for these rooms to feel pristine. We found them to be mediocre and not the cleanest. The carpets felt a little dingy, the furniture was extremely worn with clear tears on them, and there were visible smudges on things like the mirrors where you could see they had been cleaned but at around 90%. The bed was extremely uncomfortable with what felt like a pull out couch mattress (high at the headboard, sags in the middle) and bring your own pillows. At breakfast we found two bagels with mold, which the staff replaced, however you could clearly tell they were frozen and had just been microwaved to warm. The marsh view was nice, however the entire top middle section of the screened inn porch was missing which made it unusable due to the mosquitos and bugs from the marsh. I mentioned this to the staff at check-in and the young lady didn’t seem to care or know that was done. We found the staff to simply be someone at a desk and there to drive the shuttle. There was no outward effort on making you feel special or welcome, which again is extremely disheartening during a time when people aren’t possibly the most comfortable with traveling. We’ve stayed in several bed and breakfasts over the years and generally love the quaint charm and hospitality. We didn’t feel like we got either of those during our stay.…
Loved this little B&B. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anybody wanting to stay at Folly Beach. The rooms are beautiful and the view out the back is beautiful. We really enjoyed the happy hour.
My husband and I recently spent the night in the Regatta ground floor room in January. It was miserable. The weather was in the low 40s that night and our room was unheated. The simulated fireplace emitted a tiny amount of heat but was on a 60 minute timer which ticked loudly every second of the time. We slept in our clothes under a thin summer weight comforter. The toilet ran off and on all night long. Every few hours pipes banged. There was no one to report this to from 9pm to 7am. We did not sleep at all. In the morning we climbed the stairs to breakfast to ask about the heat. We were told a space heater should have been in our room. Breakfast had a variety but the bread was so old and stale we could not slice it. We were finally offered the next nights lodging free but declined. Parking is also a problem. Would never stay there again!…
