What a wonderful hidden gem this is! We we given a room in the back - quiet and a nice view of the woods behind the hotel. What I found most impressive was how homey it was. The furnishing were very nice and not "hotel grade". It was obvious in the small details like the bottled water in the fridge and the snacks on the table that the managers/owners want you to feel like you were valued as a guest. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend. (The food and bowl-sized margaritas at Margarita's Restaurant down the street were outstanding)
I can't possibly convey just how wonderful the staff was at this hotel. I was staying here because my sister was in the hospital and was very ill. I originally booked a room for one night because I had no idea how bad she really was. I called Mike and explained what was going on and he told me not to worry about a thing. He would hold the room for me as long as I needed. It was such a huge weight off of my shoulders! Her illness progressed and I kept calling Mike to let him know I would be extending another day, and another day, and another day. He never showed any irritation with the situation, only concern. I stayed in room 113. It's on the end of the building so it faces the woods. It was so peaceful. The place was very clean and quiet. He even had water in the refrigerator and chips and a candy bar waiting on my table. The laundry room was very clean and the washers and dryers were in great shape. They even took credit cards so I didn't have to worry about running out for change. I came in late every night. Sometimes, as late as 1AM. I walked through the parking lot by myself and never once felt unsafe. The hotel is close to Walmart and the mall and several restaurants. (Red Bowl does great Asian takeout) My sister passed away and I received condolences from both Mike and the cleaning staff. I even had a cleaning lady tell me she heard about my sister and wanted to give me a hug and said she was praying for me. I don't know about ya'll but this isn't the behavior I normally see when I travel and I travel a lot. People just don't go out of their way to make you feel like you're in a home away from home. I highly recommend staying here if you're traveling though the area. Say hi to Mike for me if you decide to stay.…
I mostly chose Affordable Suites of Florence because it has a full kitchen (full sized refrigerator, stove, and oven, plus a microwave, coffee maker, and toaster). Also Mike really made me feel good about the place when he showed me around. It also has a laundry room, which comes in handy when your stay is for a longer period of time. Mike was very helpful and informative. I've enjoyed my stay!
Mike and the cleaning ladies where very friendly. Very helpful. Had no issues. Thanks for all the advise on places to go and places to eat. Great location off the interstate. Walking trails all around the property. Will stay again when back in Florence.
I have stayed at 5 star hotels and the staff was awful. Mike and his staff have excellent customer service skills. They respond with a smile and made sure we had all the comfort of home. I would recommend for families and business travel. The place is clean, quiet and close to many restaurants and shopping, including Walmart.
