We stayed here for a week long golf trip. There were ten of us and this is set up the way we like it with outside entries. We like ground floor rooms and this way we can back right up to our room and unload and load. They offered a grab and go breakfast of coffee, juice, bagel/danish, and a piece of fruit. They only problem was we usually congregate at the pool or the eating area in the evenings and chat and have a few beverages. We could not do that here as both areas were shut down. We got rained out one day and asked if we could borrow a table a four chairs to play cards. She let us use the conference room and it worked out great. We used that the rest of the trip and we always cleaned up after ourselves. Excellent service.

We have stopped at this hotel several times over the course of the past several years. Each year the hotel seems to be more dated. This year it seemed that the hotel hit its lowest point. To my surprise, I was told that the hotel, including the rooms, were renovated in the past year. I was shocked to hear this. Probably our biggest complaint was that the receptionist did not follow the CDC CO-VID 19 guidelines and the receptionist said he did follow the regulations. We were standing at the reception desk and observed that he did not. We were second in line waiting to register for our room. There was another customer ahead of us at the desk. When it was our turn to approach the desk, neither the credit card stylus nor the hotel pen were replaced or sanitized. We tried to sign the credit card processor without touching the unsanitized stylus. Unfortunately, my pen would not leave my signature on the credit card processor. The reception clerk said that we need to use the stylus. My response it that the stylus was not sanitized while we were waiting on line to register. The clerk responded that he has sanitizing wipes on the reception desk and, further, the clerk said that he just sanitized the stylus. Additionally, I mentioned that the hotel pen was not sterilized. He said it was. Instead of trying to convince me that my eyes were deceiving me, the clerk should have picked up one of the alleged sanitizing wipes from the desk and wipe each item. Being that I did not see the alleged wipes and the clerk did not offer to sanitize the items with the wipes, was enough for me to be convinced there were no wipes and the items were not sanitized. Maybe the items were sanitized when the clerk's shift began, but, surely not in the few seconds that elapsed between the previous customer and me. The housekeeping employee assured me that the room was sanitized before our visit and will be sanitized when we leave. I have nothing to disprove her contention. Thus,. I take her at her word. The appearance and maintenance of the hotel indicates a lack of pride. The hotel marquee still advertised a breakfast buffet. It only takes a few minutes to take the breakfast buffet letters off the marquee. For a hotel that was renovated last year, many of the blinds in the offices were bent and customers can view that packages were just dropped next to the bent blinds. The employees should have placed the packages down on the floor and avoid bending the blinds. Regardless of the above, all the items worked in our room. The breakfast was a cheese Danish. We understood that a breakfast could not be provided because of the pandemic, but one cheese Danish. On our future trips, we will not stay at the Florence Quality Inn Suites at Civic Center. The hotel is located at exit 160A of I-95 or the last southern exit of 1-20.

We arrived at this Hotel after a very stressful drive, having had a small accident on our way. There was a car parked on the handicap spot and, after going back to the receptionist, she told me that it didn't matter... Finally, a man knew the person who was parked there. It was a person that was known by the receptionist and other staff. It was a young man driving a car with a licence plate from Alabama : when he came to move his car, he seemed annoyed by us... The room was not really handicap accessible except for the bathroom. It was very difficult to manoeuvre in the room with the wheelchair : not enough space between the beds and the table, the TV and in between the beds. The breakfast buffet was the usual. When I asked for some tape to repair a small damage on the car, I was received in a very rude manner, the receptionist telling me they didn't have any. It was a guest who heard me that indicated a store very near by where I could buy what I needed. We will not go back to this Hotel on our way back home.

Hello Chantal, Thank you for taking the time to write a very candid review. I am saddened that your room and the level of service you received from the front desk were not up to the standards that the Quality Inn brand has established. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, would you mind calling the hotel directly and ask to speak with our manager, Dioni Harrison? Thanks again for letting us know about your experience. ~Mitch

The price was right, the location was handy, the staff was amiable. It was a dated place. Furniture was soiled, vent nasty, shower could have been cleaner and streak marks everywhere from a reused dirty rag. The bedding was spotless, fresh, bright white and comfy. The number one issue was the smell of stale smoke - in a non smoking room and the cigarette butt right outside the door. Mgr Dioni was pleasant. Breakfast was lukewarm and mediocre including coffee. It worked for a night but definitely a one and done.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave a candid review. We are so sorry that the condition of your room was not up to our quality standards. It would be super helpful if you could reply with the room number so we can look into the furniture, cleanliness, and stale smell issues. I'm also going to share your comments about the breakfast temperature with our breakfast team so it can be improved. One of the top reasons guests stay with us is because of our convenient location adjacent to I-95. Thanks again for leaving your honest comments! -Mitch

I was staying at a Quality Inn in SC and was stunned at the best and originality of the decorations in the lobby and hallways. It was so spectacular! I took pictures and plan to reproduce the design next year in my classroom. My highest recommendation is that you reproduce that design in ALL your inns next December. The person who put this project together is Dioni Harrison.
