I don’t even know where to begin with this review. My husband and I checked Wednesday July 10 and were to stay until Saturday July 13. We drove down Wednesday at 4 am to arrive in time for family day at Fort Jackson, my brother was graduating basic training. We come back to the hotel later that evening around 9 pm to a hot room, realizing the A.C wasn’t working. We also discovered there was no hot water. I then called the front desk to report it and was told they could send a maintenance man in about 30-45 minutes. I explained we had been up since 4 am and needed to be up early the next morning and to not worry about it at that moment. The front desk clerk then told me there were no other rooms available or they would move us and apologized. After our cold showers, we get ready for bed to find the bed sheets stained. We then look around the room to find more stains on the carpet, the walls and even mold in the shower, bathroom corners and the sink. We decided to leave the next morning asking for a refund. The clerk gave me a receipt to sign for the agreed refund amount and gave me a copy to take. Well, one week later and there is still no refund posted to my credit card. I called the hotel to speak with the manager was told I would not be getting a refund, that he has no copy of any signed receipt and that the notes are stating I was offered another room to move to. I told him that was not the case, that I was told there were no other rooms available. He then lashed out with me accusing his employees of being dishonest. I then called corporate and was only offered points toward a future stay. I explained I would not be staying at another Choice Hotel in the future after this experience and just wanted the promised refund. I was then told to hold while the system would calculate the refund that would be allowed. Out of the $201.69 total, I was told the system would only allow a $67 refund. Vacationers please beware, learn from my mistake and book elsewhere. The way this has been handled is very disheartening and frustrating. I am now out $201.69 for a one-night stay in a hot room, cold showers and mold.

We booked our stay here through booking.com for June 19, 2019, they were rated high, We when to the room, the carpet had not been vacuum, bathroom tub was dirty and dead roaches on the floor. We did not stay. Think about this, if the floors are dirty, do you think the bedding was clean, l think not. No way l could rest my body on that bed.

We stayed one night at this hotel during our tour of South Carolina. Using the Choice Hotels app we were able to reserve the room easily and conveniently from our mobile device. Upon checkin we were greeted by friendly and attentive desk clerks. The hotel looks like it has been recently renovated and may still have thing to finish as workers were around the lobby area. Our room was clean and smelled decent - no mildew, urine or pet odors assailed us. The furnishings, bed covers, and linens all looked modern and contemporary. Our bed was more comfortable than we expected and when you travel by motorcycle, a comfortable bed is key to a good nights rest. The shower was hot and had excellent pressure. Wifi was free and had good connection and speed, which considering we were on the second floor and at the end of hall away from the front desk was impressive. We took advantage of the free breakfast and was adequately satisfied. The hotel provided plenty of breakfast food options and they had staff members attentive to keeping the food items supplied. Our only complaint (and it's a small one) deals with guest laundry services. When you travel by motorcycle you take advantage of doing your laundry on the road. When we inquired about laundry we were informed that there isn't guest laundry services available, but that the hotel will do it for you - for a fee per load. And your laundry will be returned to you by 9am the next day. Being just a little uneasy about someone touching our (mine) unmentionables, we at first refused and were upset that we couldn't do it ourselves. We relented and had the the hotel do our laundry (thankfully one load). Upon getting it back a couple of items were missing. It took two employees to find the missing items. We would stay at this facility again as it was clean, safe and the staff was friendly.

Stayed one night. Room was adequate and clean. Outside bottom of shower had a spot that was missed. Pillows are small and not all that comfortable. Air conditioning works well and is not too noisy. Good breakfast. Staff gives good front desk service. TV works well, did not try WiFi.

We booked this hotel for 1 night to take a break from our long drive to Florida. We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews that we read; however, I can’t say I agree. The room was outdated and small. Everything seemed dirty. The only reason I gave this hotel 2 stars instead of 1, is because the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Due to an issue with the room, we asked to cancel the reservation for a refund. The hotel staff was very understanding and promptly processed the refund, which was greatly appreciated. If you’re looking for a great place to stay, just drive a few miles to the Courtyard by Marriott in Cayce SC. Courtyard costs a little more than Sleep Inn, but the extra expense was well worth the higher quality accommodations. Good luck fellow travelers!
