Meeting Street was a wonderful place for a reunion I recently attended. It was within walking distance of historic areas, Ft Sumter, many local restaurants, and the huge marketplace. Darren and Akeem were welcoming, friendly, and more than happy to make recommendations or offer directions requested. A nice buffet breakfast was available every morning and the complimentary wine and cheeses from... More

An older facility with old world charm. But the rooms are large, clean and have all you need. The staff is friendly and helpful, with a free breakfast every morning and snacks at 5-7PM (occasionally they serve a salmon salad- very good!). Convenient location and a reasonable price makes this a worthwhile place to stay in Charleston - I will... More

I recently joined several friends here for a reunion and our warm welcome began as soon as we were greeted at the front door by Akeem! Darren checked us in, dealt with our rental car, and gave us great recommendations for our first dinner in Charleston. The inn is comfortable and homey, with happy hour offered each evening in the... Our group of nine enjoyed many hours over afternoon wine and cheese on the patio, and morning breakfast and coffee in the front room. The Inn's location was perfect for walking to every destination in historic Charleston on our list. I found the Inn to be very clean and comfortable, no more 'tired' in appearance than I would expect for... More

Very nice older hotel in the heart of Charleston. The rooms are nicely appointed, with newer bathrooms. I had a double bed in my room so I don't know if queens and kings are available. Breakfast in the morning included something hot (egg casserole or sausage and biscuits) and the usual cold cereal assortment. They had wine and cheese from... More

We were booked to stay at this inn on the weekend of Hurricane Matthew. The inn very kindly allowed us to shorten our stay at the last minute without a penalty. The inn is in a perfect location for sightseeing in historic Charleston. You can walk everywhere. It is located across the street from the city market, and is very... More

Hotel prices in Charleston are high, and even though this was mid-range price wise in Charleston, it felt overpriced. The rooms are very old-fashioned but in a quaint way, however they were a bit dark and gloomy. Bathroom was fine, good water pressure and clean, and beds were comfy. Breakfast was pretty terrible. Poor quality and selection of food. Plates,... More

Pros: Ideal location, Walking distance to most everything. Very clean. Great water pressure in shower. Nice people. Housekeeping staff wonderful. Cons: Rooms on the shabby side and very dark. The breakfast buffet was a huge disappointment; dry cereal, mushy grapes, no other fresh fruit. Not even bananas, except on Sunday. The bagels and muffins looked like Costco brand, in fact... More

This hotel is right downtown Charleston. We had an upstairs, second floor room. We took the stairs every time as it was quicker, but there is an elevator. The hotel is so "southern" feeling! With the side courtyard especially. Happy hour was very nice with wine and cheese and crackers every evening at 5pm. Staff were helpful. Breakfasts were good.... More

With it's central location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room and lounge areas, this is a really good base to explore historic Charleston. We enjoyed a quirky room with a four poster-bed, the "happy-hour" with wine, cheese and crab-dip - which is daily between 5pm & 6pm - and the general location of this hotel being close to the market....
