I will start off with what I think is this hotel's greatest strength.....it's employees. They are so friendly and go above and beyond. From the happy hour hostess....to the breakfast staff....to the security guard who politely asked us to leave the pool in 20....front desk and housekeeping. They are all very nice and have big smiles! There isn't need to...

This hotel was absolutely beautiful, so historic. The valet was wonderful and recommended a fantastic restaurant. Check in was a breeze and the complimentary afternoon drinks were perfect, would have loved a frozen margarita, but the vodka sour was amazing. Traveling with son, daughter-in-law, 2 grandsons and husband here in Charleston to show off the sights to our children. They...

Part of Charleston’s charm is the chance to sleep within steps of historic landmarks. Nowhere on the peninsula is better situated to enjoy all that upper King has to offer than the Embassy Suites. Situated on Meeting Street and Marion Square, chances are a festival, farmers market or food booth awaits just outside its doors. My favorite place on the...

My husband and I spent 4 days walking all around the historic town, museums and restaurants. It is very close to everything and we enjoyed the walking because you can get up close and personal with all the historic and charming gardens as well as the cemeteries and mansions. The hotel is historic itself so the rooms are not modern by...

So close to College of Charleston, and Citadel. Actyally the exterior is remaining from this being the original Citadel. On central street and short walk to market. Very nice accomodation and service. Clean, quiet. Recommend it.

Not thrilled with the hotel that is in an old building. Room was designed different. Didn't seem real clean and wasn't a comfortable room. Evening reception was very slim especially for a hotel of its size. No place to sit with what little they did offer. Breakfast was not great either. Cook had an attitude. Pricey for the quality. Place...

These are quirky rooms for sure. Historic etc. etc. See photos. Location, location. Rooms on the 2nd floor have high windows and ... musket openings (I guess) and you have to be quite tall to see out. I understand the rooms on the 3rd floor have windows that are more accessible. I will also note that the M floor (where...

Love staying here. Good location with a good staff. Enjoy the breakfast and happy hour. There is so much history in the building and in this city. Can get to shopping on King Street with ease and great restaurants are all around.
