This hotel is old, dirty and not clean. Worst hotel experience of my life. Had to stay close by MUSC because of a friend having a procedure. I definitely would not recommend this hotel due to the conditions. The staff however was wonderful.

A bit out of town and the shuttle schedule isn't on point, but the room was comfortable and breakfast was really great; the hotel was easily accessible driving into Charleston, but something disappeared from the car during the valet parking that was not monetarily valueable but highly personal and not replacable. There was no way to report this to see if it might be found.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I stayed here because it is advertised as a hotel that is close to downtown Charleston, but that is completely wrong. It is at least a mile walk to anything, so we ended up having to take Uber any time we wanted to go out. I reserved a queen single bedroom for my boyfriend and I and was given a room with two full-sized beds. I paid a ridiculous price for a hotel that is only one step up from a motel. After paying $200/night for this hotel, we arrived to a dirty room. The carpet was sticky and had red stains in the corner of the room, and the chairs were stained. The "free" amenities that they advertise are actually $15/day, which they make you pay when you get there. I would not have known that I was going to be charged anything until I challenged the guy at the front desk when he asked for my card. Then, after I left the hotel, I noticed a $23 charge on my card from the night I arrived. I never purchased anything, so I am at a loss as to what I am being charged for. I used a different card for the "resort" fee, so it makes no sense. I am trying to get in contact with the hotel to dispute this charge but I cannot find an email anywhere. Overall, this was a horrible experience. I would not recommend this to anyone. Ideally, I would like my money back.

In Charleston for 5 nights. This was the last night before flying home. Best breakfast of all the nights, different hotels. Went from sack breakfast 1st night (apple, egg biscuit, granola bar) to this lavish spread at Comfort Inn. Greatly appreciated.

My husband had appointments at the Charleston, SC VA Hospital for procedures over the course of 2 days, so we figured that since we live over 3 hours away from Charleston, we'd spend the night. The Comfort Inn is directly across the street from the VA. He was going to be up & down over the course of the night so we upgraded to a suite so he could have a TV he could watch in an adjacent room...but it didn't work. Called the front desk, they sent a maintenance guy up & he said we had the wrong remote...he'd look for the right one. 3 hours later, called the front desk again. They're sending someone up with the right remote...never showed. Paid for "Jr. Suite" for nothing. Won't be staying here again. Vonfort Inns have really gone down hill over the past yesrs.
