Quaint. Clean. Decor is traditional, but dark. Located close to the City Market and the cruise port. Quieter than other hotels but a little farther from restaurant and shops. Nice breakfast, but for the price, I'd probably stay somewhere else .

A clean, conveniently located, comfortable and large roomed hotel. Charleston is a walking city and this inn sits right at the edge of everything, restaurants, tours, shopping, history. Enjoy the continental breakfast and happy hour wine and cheese.

My family and I have stayed at the Ansonborough multiple times. It is a high class, beautiful place with a very nice, down to earth staff. Rooms are unique and beautiful with the brick walls and wood beams. Highly recommend the Ansonborough and we will stay there again on our next trip. Also can walk to most anywhere downtown and...

Another great place to stay as a result of Trip Advisor! 3 floors of history! Stayed in room 333! WOW! ( I know....over use of exclamation points) Room was spotless and spacious. This hotel is not typical... I checked in early, explaining to the desk attendant (Adam) I realize my room won't be ready yet, but I would prefer a high floor if possible, when I'm able to check in. Adam told me... my room is, in fact ready... it's on the 3rd floor, and he has upgraded me to an executive...

During our only other stay in Charleston, my wife and I stayed at the French Quarter Inn (one of the nicest hotels we've visited anywhere). I wasn't sure what to expect from the Ansonborough, but was very pleasantly surprised. The Inn itself is charming and well-kept. They offer many great amenities - nice continental breakfast, complimentary wine and cheese happy...

Although they charge you for parking and the room smelled of mold, the rest of our experience at this place was very good. The interior design of the hotel and rooms is very nice. The service was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The location was close to everything you needed and the price is not prohibitive.

The building is a turn of the century factory converted to a small hotel in charming Old Charleston. Convenient to great restaurants, shops and everything Charleston. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the areas attractions and sites. I will stay no place else on future trips to SC.

If my significant other was reviewing this, he'd give it a 5. The room was large, for the price (which includes a large convention in town that weekend, and booking last minute), it was only noisy because we were next to the elevator. The location is great if you like walking, as it is a bit off the main stretch....
