    Comfortable Anniversary Stay
My husband and I stayed at The Dewberry for our 20th anniversary January 15-19th. We've been to Charleston several times, and we always like to try a new place. We stayed in a Charleston Flat, which is very roomy and comfortable. The double vanities in the bathroom are great except there is an outlet for plug ins on only one side of the sink. I have made a list of pros and cons for anyone considering staying there. Pros: if you stay 3 days in the winter, you might get the fourth night free (we took advantage of that), we also received valet parking free (it's $36 per night otherwise). There is a free car service that takes you anywhere you need to go on the peninsula (but you need cash to tip the driver), convenient location to King street bars/restaurants. The beds are comfortable and the hotel room is very quiet. The view from the windows is gorgeous (except there are so many windows that the view is obstructed), the shower is huge and there is great view of the city through the shower window. Housekeeping does a great job, and replenishes plenty of towels and wash cloths everyday. Cons: no breakfast of any kind is included, no wine/cheese or snacks offered (other than in the mini-bar which is expensive), no convenient way to get ice. They will bring ice to you, but it might take a while. Overall, for the money, I'd rather stay somewhere that offers club service or free breakfast. The doors to the bathroom are very heavy and slide closed and there is no fan in the room with the toilet. There is no way to buy movies or access movie channels other than HBO. If it's bright outside, there are many curtains to close to block out the light. Light leaks through the bathroom at all times during the day (if you require a very dark room, this isn't the place to go.) I wanted to give an honest review. This is as honest as I can be!
We appreciate your feedback about The Dewberry and are happy to hear that you enjoyed our location in the heart of the downtown Charleston. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

    Gorgeous hotel, amazing service
I traveled to Charleston on a girls trip for a friend’s 40th birthday. She planned what she wanted to do and chose the hotel. I am so glad she chose The Dewberry. Even before we arrived in Charleston, the concierge called asking if there was anything they could do to make my stay better or if I had any questions. I have never had this level of service and I was very impressed. When we checked in we were offered some delicious Dewberry tea and the bellman delivered my luggage to my room. The room was AMAZING!!! It’s beautifully decorated with a velvet couch, marble table, a big mirror, and a chandelier to name a few of the elegant elements. There was a clothes steamer, which came in very handy and a makeup mirror which I very much appreciated. One of the days I didn’t have a chance to have lunch and I was starving, the restaurant was closed so the bar manager had some hummus and pita sent up to my room immediately. It was so much appreciated. The nightly turndown with the slippers sat beside the bed was a beautiful touch. I will definitely recommend The Dewberry to everyone I know that goes to Charleston.
Thank you for being our guest and for sharing your experience with us. We are pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay and sincerely appreciate the kind words. We are always striving for excellence and personal service thus it is very rewarding to receive personal and positive feedback. We look forward to having you stay with us again sometime soon.

    Midcentury Modern Luxe
We recently spent an evening having drinks at both the Living Room and Citrus Club. Both offer amazing ambiance and hand-crafted cocktails (plus a menu of food items). The Living Room focuses on traditional cocktails (think Martinis, Manhattans, etc.) in an expansive, luxurious room decorated in warm tones with clean, modern lines. Service is elegantly executed. Glasses of ice water and nibbles are immediately served by a waiter and your cocktails are carefully made and beautifully presented. There is outdoor, more casual seating outside as well, facing the street and alongside the building. After a totally chill and relaxing first round, we went up to the rooftop bar, Citrus Club. The vibe is tropical and beachy, done with cool flair. Specialty drinks abound (think Mai Tais, tiki drinks, etc.) as well as full bar service. Tables and lounges areas are spaced throughout and the views are of the entire Charleston area are absolutely spectacular!! Locals and visitors alike will enjoy seeing landmarks from this vantage point. And do order the food! (Consult the menus for particulars before you go. Their offerings will definitely appeal to any foodie.) We ordered the Dewberry Burger. Incredible. The burger is served cut into fourths, meant to be shared like sliders. Even if you are hungry and don’t want to share, it’s a tidy way to eat a big burger while sipping on a cocktail! Order a side of Loaded Fries (quite enough for two people). Heaven. If jaw dropping views, fantastic cocktails and great food aren’t enough, the waitstaff is simply the best and truly adds to the overall experience. They are efficient, attentive and are happy to stop and take pics of you and your party even if they are crazy busy. Their Creamsicle and white uniforms (love the white ball caps, too) set the vibe for a fun filled, outdoors adventure up on the 8th floor!
Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We are pleased to hear about your experience in the Living Room and the Citrus Club with our wonderful teammates. We look forward to hosting you again on your next visit to Charleston.

The Dewberry is not the least expensive place you can stay in Charleston. But, if you want a great experience, with a nice room, a central location and quite superior customer service, it is certainly worth the cost. The hotel is among the best I’ve been in with regard to the professionalism and competency of the staff. We had a quite small issue during our stay ( we had a cheese plate sent to the room and had requested that it not include blue cheese. It did.) The response was overwhelming courteous and appropriate. These folks are true pros. We could have been more impressed. Stay at The Dewberry with confidence. You’ll be glad you did.

Uber driver told me to check out the super cool rooftop bar at the Dewberry Hotel. I was with my 9 year old son, and upon our arrival, was told it was 21+...we were just hoping to get a cold lemonade and check out the supposedly amazing view of the city. It was only 1:00pm so I figured it wouldn't have been 21+ yet, but I was wrong. We ended up getting a lemonade in the downstairs bar area called "The Living Room" which was cute and cozy. Hotel seemed nice and it was walkable to the Charleston Museum, Marion Square, and the Aquarium.

Great location, fantastic, friendly and helpful staff and sleek, modern rooms We stayed (as a couple) in July 2023. We had a Corner King room (423) The Dewberry is in a converted, JFK era Federal building repurposed as a boutique-like hotel. Beautiful lobby with comfortable chairs and tables to have a meal or a drink at "The Living Room" lobby bar and eatery. (We had breakfast which was very tasty). Easy walk to shops on King Street as well as to "south of Broad" for carriage rides or walking tours etc Check in was seamless and the refreshing beverages were appreciated! Our room, while not overly large (but enough room for two) was very well appointed. Comfy King bed, mini bar (not included), dresser, etc, robes and slippers located in the bottom of the bureau...FYI - there are additional outlets for phones etc located in the nightstands in the shelf above the bottom drawer - didn't figure this out until our last night LOL. Otherwise, use a USB connection in the clock to charge phones. The real gem of the room is the bathroom - all marble with a large double sink vanity, HUGE shower stall with rain shower type shower head and a separate toilet area with door. Towels were soft and all was very clean. Very luxurious. One tip - our room faced east so make sure to close those blinds tightly as well as close the sliding barn door to the bathroom as the window in there has a opaque shade but not a curtain and the sun comes blasting through and will wake you if light bothers you when you sleep. The Dewberry has a great rooftop bar called the "Citrus Club" - spectacular view of Charleston and the all the surrounding waterways/bridges. Great drinks and food (there is an inside section in case of inclement weather). The Dewberry offers free one way rides to close by locations on a "first come, first served" basis. (they can pick you up as well but there is a fee) BIG SHOUT OUT to "Tony" - he was indispensable when giving advice for various restaurants, making beach arrangements for Isle of Palms and just being a really helpful, friendly guy. The staff were all very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay while you're there. All in all - one of the best hotel experiences we have had!

This hotel is so well run! The staff is very friendly, informed and helpful. Its also centrally located and while there are a few others the same, this one is quiet, the spa was amazing and my room looked out on the green. Feel like it is the best bet for a few days in Charleston. My first time in CHS. Highly recommend to visit the roof top and their margaritas are the best.

The Dewberry makes for the perfect hub in Charleston, it truly has something for everyone. Central to shopping, dinning, and all of Charleston’s rich history. Fabulous spots within the hotel to pause for a cocktail in between excursions with your crew. When “staying in”, the rooms are incredibly comfortable, and the hospitality services are dialed in. The spa is such a grounding experience as well, definitely a highlight of our trip. Until next time!

I just returned from a trip to the Dewberry and am already looking forward to returning. From the moment you pull into the valet, you are greeted with the friendliest and most helpful staff which is carried into every department from front desk, housekeeping, concierge, and their various food and beverage offerings. We love starting our day with a quick breakfast in the living room - the smoked salmon bowl and fresh pastries can't be beat - and then heading out to enjoy the city. The hotel is perfectly situated among Charleston's best shopping and dining. We also enjoy ending our days with a cocktail in the Living Room and especially enjoy the live music on the weekends. You don't want to miss having a cocktail on their rooftop bar - The Citrus Club. The spicy coconut margarita is one of my all-time favorite cocktails. I also highly suggest pampering yourself in the spa. This trip I treated myself to a facial and it was one of the most relaxing I have ever had. I look forward to returning to the Dewberry and experiencing their amazing hospitality again.
