Must stay there for at least one day if you are in Charleston, specially in Flat room. You can enjoy their rooftop restaurant/bar. Dining room also has great options. Overall the property has a nice touch with lux bathrooms :)
Gorgeous hotel - if you have time, book a spa appointment. We were so spoiled for our couples massage! Heated towels, relaxation room, robes, slippers, essential oils - you name it. Very friendly and attentive service. This made for a memorable trip.
The hotel room was so dainty and comforting. It had classic southern charm without feeling stuffy. It was the details that tied the decor together to feel like you were staying in a guest room of a Meeting Street Mansion. The patterned armoire gave the room personality while the massive mirror on the wall made the room feel twice the size. The sitting area worked perfectly to wrap up some work and store shopping bags from King Street without getting in the way! My favorite part was the grand view of Marion Square and the gorgeous blue skies. I also have to add they have the softest hotel slippers I ever had! Exclamation Point. Period. “Ma’am let us pamper you!”, was the first thing said to me when we arrived at The Dewberry. As the doorman assisted us with our luggage, I attempted to be “ independent” by choosing to carry my oversized purse. He persuaded me to hand over my bag while offering me a cold bottle of water. My answer is “ If you insist!” From that moment, I knew I needed to allow myself to soak up this ravishing establishment I was stepping foot into. The Curtis Club is Dewberry’s rooftop bar and restaurant that provides you with a 360 view of the city! You can see the whole Ravenel Bridge and most of downtown. The sight is magnificent at any time of day or night. The food and cocktails only complimented the view. The Jamaican beef patties were a spicy surprise with crisp edges! We ordered spiffy drinks like Tropical Itch which came with a literal back scratcher dipped into the curvaceous glass.…
Husband and I just left, quick getaway. Hands down the best we’ve experienced in a long while. Staff was friendly, room was unique/high quality, house car is an amenity that cannot be beat. Highly recommend!
The good: At check in, the valets took my vehicle and parked it, and then another person grabbed our luggage and brought it to the room for us. The hotel desk offered the signature tea and a cold washcloth and went over the normal check-in info. The room was beautiful. We were on the 7th floor and our window overlooked the city. the bathroom had the marble floors, and there was plenty of attention to detail in the room. The bad: There was no coffee maker in the room, nor was there a microwave! I have never been in a hotel room that did not have complimentary coffee in the room, and I can remember maybe one other time I was in a room with no microwave! There was a room-service menu and we ordered a pot of coffee to be delivered to the room at 7:00am. All in all, the cost of the pot of coffee with the mandatory gratuity and delivery fee added, costed us $18.00! we had an "ok" dinner at the Living Room and I wanted to take my left-overs to have for a snack later, but since there was no microwave, I couldn't take them. A can of coca-cola was $5.00. So, my dinner in the Living room, including some cheese fries as an appetizer was over $65.00 and I couldn't even take my leftovers. The hotel really was beautiful, but I have stayed at some other really great hotels for a FRACTION of the price who would include the BASIC necessities like a coffee machine and a microwave. Also, the cable ended up going out for several hours. Part of my stay was going to be lounging around indoors and relaxing - and I couldn't do that. When I asked for a late check out, they told me, "It will be $50 for the first half hour, and $20 for every additional 15 minutes." I asked, "Since the cable went out for so long, is there anything you can offer to make up for that?" they offered me a free 15 minutes and that was it. I had to request speaking with the manager twice before the manager ended up approving an hour. I really would have just expected a lot more from the Dewberry. They boast about attention to detail, but then charge $18 for a pot of coffee? And, they had free coffee downstairs, upon exiting the elevator - but I wasn't told this at check in, and if I had been told, I wouldn't have spent so much on a pot of coffee. I really don't think I will be back.…
A great hotel for our first stay in Charleston. An ideal location with east walks downtown on Meeting Street and King Street. Very close to to Saturday market in the square opposite which is definitely worth a visit. The hotel staff are extremely welcoming from start to finish and always with a smile. We will definitely return.
The Dewberry was a unique experience. The hotel is luxurious and the staff is friendly and accommodating. They welcome you upon check in with a hibiscus tea. They were able to provide us with an early check-in and late check-out. The Living Room is a perfect spot for breakfast, a snack or beverage. I highly recommend The Dewberry if you're looking to be spoiled.
I normally stay at the older, more charming/historic properties when in Charleston (Zero George, Wentworth Mansion) but decided to mix it up on this quick 1-night road trip stay. I was absolutely thrilled at this decision. - Service was beyond professional in every department and employees are very polished and well-trained. - The rooms are beautiful. We were upgraded to a room with a window in the bathroom overlooking the park that was gorgeous. The decor is really attractive and every little detail was there. Just when I thought my dinner shirt needed a de-wrinkle, I opened a cabinet and was greeted by a steamer. - The rooftop views are stunning and fun drinks. - I ordered room service in a rush and it was at my door in 15 minutes, delivered by a cheery woman that helped start a long day right. You can't beat that. Overall I was extremely impressed and will be back!…
One of our best experiences in Charleston. Everyone was helpful, friendly, and went the extra mile. We really loved the Citrus rooftop bar, but it would have been a better experience if hotel guests were treated a more of priority (they could only seat us next to the bar). This will be our goto hotel in our annual trip to Charleston.
This was a very high quality hotel. From the valet service to the concierge to the front desk. The room was high end the restaurants were excellent the roof top was awesome.my wife had an amazing massage in the spa. The dewberry offers guests rides in high end vehicles. It was an amazing stay. Definitely a hotel to return to.
