Where to begin? After booking a last minute room for a surprise birthday weekend for my husband, I expected to just arrive and then settle into the room. Donna will have none of that, she contacted me by phone not long after my confirmation and we chatted as if we had been

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at 27 State Street Bed & Breakfast. We are overwhelmed and thankful that you have shared your review on many of the popular sites such as Yelp, Orbitz and TripAdvisor. Wow! We want to thank you for accepting our call. We truly are interested in our guests. We want to know if we can make advance plans so that their trip will be seamless and memorable. Thank you for mentioning our breakfasts. This is one of the more significant changes that we have made to what we offered in the past year. We always try to find ways to improve and the breakfasts and the French Press coffee are good examples. Your feedback helps us to improve. We also loved your comment about the water fountain. Guests often tell us that the atmosphere in the courtyard reminds them of a small bed and breakfast they would find somewhere in Europe. We are glad your room was comfortable and cozy too. We encourage all locals out there to visit 27 State Street Bed & Breakfast. After all this is your city. A city with so much to offer and so much to be proud of. Our doors are always opened to you. Thank you again for everything. The pleasure was all ours.

27 State Street is one of my go-to places when visiting Charleston. My family & I have stayed here on a number of occasions over many years so I've experienced all of the rooms, including some that no longer show on their website (they had opened up the 4th floor attic space as

I typically prefer hotels over B&Bs because I like the amenities of a hotel, but I chose this because of its location, and I was traveling with my dog. We stayed 4 nights in the Wurdeman's Study, and the room was bigger than I anticipated, definitely comfortable enough for our

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit with us. I think we should add a mini refrigerator to the room for all rooms have one. The issue is space. Perhaps we can add an electrical outlet in the closet and place it in there. We will work on that. Also about variety for breakfast. I discovered a charming local bakery off the beaten path. One of our biggest finds of 2018. There are a few kinks to work out, but you are correct variety is something we need to work on as well. The water fountain can be unplugged. An easy fix. We wish we would have known. Thank you again for your suggestions. Somethings we can fix so we appreciate your honesty. We hope that you will pay us another visit. Happy New Year.
