We stayed 2 nights at 27 State Street Bed and Breakfast on our way back from North Carolina to Florida. Donna made our trip hassle free with her personal outreach to coordinate meeting us upon arrival and she provided a list of attractions, restaurants and details about the local landscape. We enjoyed her home-made breakfast creations on the veranda each morning and were very impressed with everything we ate! Donna shared local knowledge with us about the history of the building and area. She could not have been more personable and accommodating. The suite was very spacious and clean. It was very comfortable and charming! We highly recommend and will DEFINITELY be back! The location was perfect too so we could walk to everything. Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable and wonderful!

One of the keys to COVID-safe travel is LOW DENSITY lodging. For our 10th wedding anniversary, 27 State was absolutely magnificent, and in the perfect location in old Charleston. Donna was the perfect hostess. Breakfast was scrumptious (served in a beautiful balcony setting), and our room was spacious, historic, and "State"-ly. We highly recommend -- so glad we found this place! Colleen & Charlie McKinney, TX

Thank you David & Donna for recommending 27 State Street Bed & Breakfast. We are thrilled that you came back here where it all started. Over the years, 27 State has increasingly become a favorite place to stay to celebrate a special occasion or anniversary. In today's world, people are feeling brushed off, and what we do well here is the doating hospitality that we love to deliver to all of our guests. The veranda where you can hear the clip clop of the horse and carriages as you are served homemade hot breakfasts doesn't hurt either. Thank you again for staying with us. We look forward to having you back for a future visit. Donna

Our wedding weekend was rescheduled due to covid and we decided on a last minute trip to Charleston. After extensive research trying to fill the ‘wedding day void’, we chose 27 Street Bed and Breakfast. Upon our late arrival, the key was waiting as promised we were beyond impressed with the location and the charming, magical feel of the inn. The room was perfect and we settled in for our first night in Charleston. Little did we know, the next morning we would meet the most gracious, kind and professional hostess, Donna. We were greeted on the terrace with her homemade banana pancakes, fresh fruit, French pressed coffee and the warmest conversation with someone we had ever had. It’s almost as if she was placed in our lives to bring us a sense of peace on our original wedding day. She alone made our trip unforgettable with the southern sophistication and genuine hospitality she offered. The breakfast terrace is simply zen with the overflowing, lush greenery and the European fountain trickling in the distance. The second morning was equally perfect as the first. Fresh avocado toast, the most fluffy eggs and a colorful fruit bowl was served. Donna outdid herself once again. If you’re looking for a perfect location, gorgeous venue, stellar customer service and a built in angel, you’ve certainly found it. We will return soon in the future and have also recommended to family and friends. Thank you, Donna and 27 St Bed and Breakfast! We will see you again soon!

My husband and I took a trip to Charleston for our first anniversary and stayed here. This place is super romantic with the perfect Charleston feel to it. It was our first time ever visiting Charleston and we would have been lost without Donna, the property manager. She would call and get pricing, hours, and other details for things we were interested in doing for the day and even called and reserved a table for us for dinner one night. I can’t put into words how amazing the breakfast was every morning. Perfect start to the day. Donna made sure we had everything we needed and never hesitated to answer questions and suggest amazing places to see during our visit. This bed and breakfast is in the perfect location. It’s in walking distance to everything. We are planning another trip to Charleston soon and will definitely be staying here!
