My wife and I enjoyed an exceptional food and fun filled trip to this historic city (My first visit). Vaughn is a relational hostess and ambassador for this city. She can also cook and serve you an unforgettably delicious breakfast. The free tour in her vehicle is very informative and includes facts you won’t hear from “real” tour guides (local color). I thought I wanted to plantation hop in Charleston but I think the city attractions were a better choice. Clean, friendly city.
Not only is 22 Charlotte a Charleston Gem but also the owner Vaughan. We felt “at home” from the moment we arrived and were treated to a tour geared toward our personal interests, restaurant recommendations, insider tips to Charleston and fabulous gourmet southern breakfasts. Our room was large and well appointed with lovely antique furnishings - a most welcomed retreat from a day of sightseeing. We felt as if we had a new best friend in Vaughan and could not have been more pleased with our accommodations. We hated leaving and hope to return in the near future.
Ms Vaughan welcomes you into her historic home with open arms. Since only a few rooms are available, the house is quiet and warm. She serves a very generous and tasty breakfast which filled us up until dinner time. We enjoyed a great tour of downtown and she gave us a very helpful map of the area. 22 Charlotte is in a great location and very walkable to quite a few good restaurants nearby. Uber is very responsive if needed. We were there for four nights and felt like family!
We visited Charleston late March for the first time and stayed at 22 Charlotte for 6 nights. It's a beautiful historic private home with just a few guest rooms so you feel like part of the owner Vaughan's family by the time you leave. We greatly enjoyed the FULL breakfast she made every day that left us not needing lunch and enjoyed conversing with other guests. She gave us good advise about restaurants and activities via email before our visit and especially her advise to book dinner reservations well in advance. She even gave us a mini city tour our first morning to get us oriented. The house is only a few blocks from the Charleston Museum and several historic homes open to the public. We'll be back!
We had a wonderful time at 22 Charlotte. The owner was very hospitable and accommodating. The location was within walking district to plenty of restaurants and shops. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet so we got good rest both nights we were there. The breakfasts were abundant and tasty.
