Hotel's Favorite
My husband and I stayed at the Spectator Hotel for a quick, 2.5-day trip to celebrate my birthday. From the moment we walked in, we experienced true Southern hospitality as we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff and offered a delicious cocktail. We arrived before check-in and had to wait a couple of hours for our room to be cleaned and prepared for our arrival, which was fine (and expected). The hotel is located steps away from the historic Charleston City Market so we walked over there and grabbed a bite to eat before heading back to the hotel. By the way, every room comes with its own personal butler who you can call any time (literally) if you need assistance with just about anything. When our room was ready, our butler escorted us upstairs where lovely jazz music was playing, and he walked us through how breakfast works, the various services available on site, etc. (Side note: Tony, the gentleman who delivered breakfast to our room, was the best!) The room was beautifully decorated and SPOTLESS. You can instantly tell that these hoteliers take pride in ensuring their guests have a memorable and pleasing experience! This is truly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at in all my years of travel. I would absolutely stay here again, and I highly recommend that you do, too! You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Nick at the front desk was extremely polite, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. We stayed as a family of four with two young boys. Every hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming to us any time. We traveled throughout the world and the nation, and even when we compare this hotel to the larger five star hotels (Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, St. Regis, Waldorf Astoria, etc.), it just stands out. The location is excellent - walking distance to the majority of Downtown Charleston. The building and room decor is unique, modern, and beautiful. The hotel staffs are all absolutely well trained and they seem to truly enjoy serving and interacting with guests. We will absolutely go back and visit whenever we visit Charleston.

We selected The Spectator Hotel mainly because of its location but soon discovered it is known for its service. Everyone was very helpful and friendly through out our stay. Once of the amenities I appreciated was the design and layout of the bathroom. So many new hotels have little to know storage in the bathroom but the Spectator had plenty of counter and storage space. It made the logistics of our stay more comfortable. I also loved breakfast being brought to our room. Always having snacks and drinks available in our room and fresh fruit through out the hotel. Once again it made the trip more comfortable.
