The Spectator is a very nice hotel....it ranks up there with any of the good hotels in Charleston. It was hard to choose where to stay, but I'm glad The Spectator was it. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and we only had the basic room. The beds were great and I never heard any noise from a neighbor or from the hall. The breakfast was provided in the room and was just the right amount to tide you over until lunch. It's not a lot of food, but it was good. There's nothing better than having a pot of coffee delivered to the room in the morning! There is also a Nespresso in the room to use in the afternoon or evening. The customer service was great. I would stay there again.

Hotel's Favorite
We were looking for a short isolation getaway to Charleston and this was our second stay at The Spectator Hotel. It did not disappoint. In addition to their already "over the top" service, the hotel and staff had implemented safely measures that made us feel very comfortable with our decision. Days before our arrival, I spoke with Nick, the concierge, to ask about the protocols. He was very helpful and professional. Everyone was masked up and you couldn't miss all the hand sanitizing stations and packets. Enough about Covid though. The Spectator has beautifully appointed rooms and I even inquired about the manufacturer of the mattress. It is so comfy, I think I just might have to have one. They have superb butlers (thanks David), great in-room breakfast options, and the Spectator bar is one of my favorites in all of Charleston. The ambience is very relaxing and the craft cocktails by Alan and his crew are top notch. The location is perfect for walking to all your favorite spots. I love this hotel and can't wait to return. Cannot recommend enough. Thanks to everyone for a memorable stay.

We booked The Spectator after reviewing many other hotels in Charleston, a city that has very good hotels to choose from, but ultimately settled on The Spectator because we were attracted by (1) its size; (2) location; (3) amenities; and (4) recommendations from other travelers. The Spectator lived up to the high expectations. Every single member of the staff was incredibly attentive, the room was very spacious and beautifully appointed, our butler was very helpful, and the amenities in the room - from the coffee to the bath products - were first class. Definitely a gem in a beautiful city.

The Spectator Hotel is a true gem! The staff is extremely welcoming and every wish of the customer is greeted with a big YES and a smile. We stayed for a very long stay and it truly felt like a home away from home. The rooms are very nice, extremely well cleaned, and ours was outstandingly quiet. In fact, shortly into our stay I realized we faced toward Market Street, but you would've have never known by the sound. The room was always nice and quiet. The location is fantastic and within walking distance of so many top Charleston activities. The hotel has cruiser bikes so you can hop to Rainbow Row and the beautiful mansion homes very quickly. Every evening for turn down service, you are left tasty nightcap drinks in a chocolate shell. The staff is very helpful in making reservations at any of the delicious Charleston restaurants. A Spectator stay is very pampering. I already miss the Spectator Hotel very much. Definitely treat yourself to a wonderful stay there.

This hotel was terrific. I don't write many reviews, but the experience at the Spectator deserves one. The people were great, the room was luxurious and quiet, the location is perfect. The butlers were extremely attentive, professional and friendly (especially Chuck). We walked to all of our meals-this hotel is very close to many of the great restaurants in Charleston. Spend a little extra and stay here.
