Friendly, competent staff in a good location (at least if you get a water view--beautiful). The hotel feels a bit dated and worn but it was clean and well kept. This was our second stay, and we will likely come again.

Hotel's Favorite
Stayed in room 332 with a balcony facing the water. Excellent room, very clean, the staff treated us with respect. Very few hotels around Charleston offer free on site parking so this was a plus as well. I wish we could have experienced the roof top restaurant as well as the free shuttles to downtown but it's understandable during covid. The only thing is the mattress could have been updated. It was not the most comfortable. Everything else was perfect.

This hotel had the Hilton name but did not provide Hilton quality services and amenities. We did go to the desk and ask about food, ATM and shuttle services. We were given scripted responses and suggested to go to “the yellow building next door” to use an ATM. (the Courtyard by Marriott) The Marriott had a shuttle that operated both to downtown and the airport for their guests .. this Hilton told us they can’t operate the shuttle until they get a 3rd driver .. and did not offer other ways to get transportation. The rooms, views were nicer at the Marriott and the outside deck and pool area were larger and more comfortable and had more breakfast options. The staff at the Marriott was also friendlier and more helpful. They literally share a driveway .. spend your money at the Marriott for a better experience for your money!

Surprisingly indifferent front desk staff. Dissed us off on several needs requested that later in the stay were found by myself accidentally. Room had issues starting with an uncomfortable bed and leaky shower door. Very surprising at a Hilton property....Not recommended

In town for the PGA Championship and we were tired of staying in the busy part of the historic district. While the traffic on Lockwood Drive is a bit heavy, walking along the river and marina or into town was nice. And you won't be in overcrowded touristy streets. But it is a walk to get to town- if you enjoy the charms of Charleston, the longer walk is well worth it. Plus the views along the river were beautiful. During the Corona Virus time they did the typical things... but the breakfast was surprisingly nice and reasonably priced. Nothing fancy but the staff was friendly and food was good. Parking was incredibly easy for a hotel on the peninsula. Free and easy in/easy out. Hotel was very quiet- we didn't hear a peep. With the labor shortage problem there were small things like picking up trash in stair wells that I imagine would be a non issue when fully staffed, and the staff we talked to was wonderful- every hotel/restaurant is struggling with retaining help and it was overall very clean. They had a rooftop lounge/bar area that would be nice when it's open (I assume closed due to current times)- views from there would be lovely when they reopen it! If you want a property outside the hustle and bustle of the market district, this hotel is a great option. It would also be good if you wanted to go out to Kiawah, James Island or Folly Beach, location-wise, or the hospitals.
